  1. Pat Kirwan mentioned this week both Foles and Wentz is a total of $24 mil so for the Eagles it would be great to keep him, but he can get a five year deal which is really 3 somewhere else, and probably get $55-60 mil guaranteed with. Another team. i would leave if I were him. There are more than enough teams who need a QB. HE’ll get a nice deal somewhere. Maybe Jax or Miami. Those teams are going to move on from their starters. Flacco I bet goes to the Jags. Maybe the Redskins. Lastly, the Broncos. We’ll see. I’m happy for him given his faith. He is a very good role model as well as clutch in the best games.
  2. I agree, and wouldn't be surprised if they also pick up 1hunt who will be out for six games, but a fantastic downhill runner. I know he did something terrible, but not sure of all the facts. As I've said before, Guards and Centers will be the target as well in free agency as they cost less than tackles, and draft tackles.
  3. BB - I hear you, but still am going to root for the Chiefs. The young exciting kid against the true veteran in Brees. How much is Miami regretting not taking Brees like Sagan wanted. That is known as the reason he went to AL. As far as the college coaches, why would you ever leave for the NFL. Crazy turnover in the pros and stability if you recruit well in college football.
  4. H2O, you must have been really bored with the Chargers game (understandably) to write this extensive of a post. The problem forecasting the draft is not knowing what we do in free agency. I’ll start paying attention to mock drafts after free agency is over. Not a knock on you big guy, and appreciate how thorough you were in you’re post. God, please let the second game be more competitive. Next week should be fun.
  5. I understand both sides on the time, but they could have the west coast teams play later in the day. I know it’s all about ratings, but they could have flipped these games.
  6. Enough of this game. I just can’t watch anymore. Problem is the Saints will probably crush the Eagles later today.
  7. The Jets are probably in rebuild mode as well. It’s going to be another ugly AFCE next year.
  8. I’m sure they will pile on in the second half. Guess I’m now a chiefs fan for next week. I do NOT want to see the Cheats in another SB. I’d love to see Maholmes light it up next week.
  9. I was listening to NFLR this morning, and he played in a playoff game with a broken forearm. When they took out the rod, he kept it as I guess he owned a pub and used to mix drinks with that rod. Those were the original tough guys. RIP.
  10. The other poster is accurate that we made a nice offer to him, but he declined as he wanted to get closer to as his whole extended family is in Southern CA. I agree I would love to have him, but a player has to want to be here.
  11. Agreed on a work stoppage not happening. Each side will make some concessions, but for everyone bashing owners, they own the team and have a right to build with their company meaning their team. Players are making fine money. The people who continue to be hurt are the older players as they are forced to retire as their salaries are too much according to Mgmt (at least the avg player, not the stars).
  12. Don’t forget it is obvious we had the #2 defense, and almost all but KW will return and are young, the #1 pass defense. Everyone has opined both in the media and on this board, we are desperately in need of an O Line, and skill players. We improved with Foster, McKenzie, and Jones when not having a wrist problem like last year. If we had an O Line, and Skill Players, we could be dangerous in the playoffs. Why wouldn’t excellent players that see something special here, with a young and very talented QB and Staff coming here. There may be a lot of taxes in NYS, but the cost of living is low and players usually leave after the season, when the weather is worst. i bet we pick up some excellent players this off season and can pay them well with the second highest cap space in the NFL, and a young team. This isn’t a team that is aging and on the decline. NYJ, and Miami are a mess, and Brady is showing signs of age. I bet when he retires Belicheck either becomes the GM only or retires. The next following years are up to the Bills to own.
  13. Brown could do so much for this team, and if process was so important, why did we keep McCoy? He doesn't meet this model, but we keep him until the end of his contract. If we picked up Hunt as RB after week 6 and Brown, and possibly two guards in free agency, we immediately change the offense. The draft can take care of the rest of the O Line, and yes we use the top two draft picks on lineman. We can choose BPA after that. I don't condone what Hunt is accused of doing, but as far as I know this was the only strike against him, and if he cleans up his act from now on, he would be an incredible down field runner, and use McCoy's talent not only horizontally where he dodges LB's, but vastly increase his pass catching ability, because once in open space is dangerous. We can completely change this team with these moves. We would still have money for the draft, emergency fund, and hold some back for the next year extensions. Also, AB's contract is up when Allen's first year is coming up in 2021 and could still place a fifth year on him as well as Edmunds.
  14. I like the Lucas stadium idea, but am still partial to doing what they did in /soldier Field and KC. Really overhaul Rich Stadium, where you beautify the inside, place a partial roof over the third floow so you get the best of both, all heated seats, much more concessions with better choices, etc. An open area to watch the game in a standing room area as it has been fun in other stadiums, and padded seats. Between the state's contribution, plus the Pegulas it is doable. If possible more suites if it is realistic to sell, and much better amenities for club seating. I think it is much more cost effective as you don't have to change the infrastructure as the roads, etc. are fine for entering and exiting the stadium.
  15. Nice work BB. Especiallly if they can pick up a #1 WR and several O-Lineman.
  16. This is why I don't watch, listen, or read anything from ESPN. Morons. I'll watch MNF, but I watch NFLN prior to gametime. We are fine with three developing assets.
  17. Im talking about what brought them to the playoffs since week 5.
  18. It’s easy to say balance, but 7 of 8 teams went on a run after a slow start once they established and committed to the run, and their defense played lights out. Yes, They need a balanced offense, but as MTC on NFLR stated yesterday afternoon prior to the game, this sounds like 1975 old school football. This is why I give the Colts a chance against the Chiefs as their secondary sucks. Luck can keep up with Holmes and had the second best QBR all year after Brees. Especially for Reich, I hope they make it. They are coaching very creative in the chess match.
  19. Agreed. Belicheck eats up and out fools rookie QB’s, whereas Rivers has seen everything. Those defensive ends are going to be putting pressure on Brady all day. Besides, I see the Pats going heavy run against the Ravens.
  20. I understand the nostalgia on Cowart, but we didn’t get a lot of time where he was injury free. Too bad as he was a hard hitter, but TE is more athletic. He’ll grow into the role. The fact that a 20 year old was calling th defensive plays and assignments is impressive.
  21. I say yes especially thinking about the article just posted today. It’s on the main board. If Beane and McDermitt can be convinced by Brown he can toe the line, he’ll go from a QB supposedly he doesn’t like, to an emerging arm, and growing. The Steelers are getting older and Tomlinson is most likely sick of Brown and Bell. Now is the time as we have the draft pics and cap capital to do it, and as the writer points out the timing of his contract up in 2021 coincides with Allen’s rookie contract. Chicago just made a calculated move with Mack and look how that is turning out. Can you imagine Brown, either the best or top 3 WR in the league, with Foster McKenzie and Jones, and using the rest of free agency with fortifying affordable but good two Olineman probably a Center and a Guard as more affordable, and then a solid draft to fill the rest. We also have 6 picks in 2020.
  22. I may be old school, but I think it is a measure of stupidity for players and their parent to be tweeting, Instagram etc, regarding their team. I don’t even have Facebook for good reasons. My friends and family can always text, e-mail, or pick up the phone and call me.
  23. That was hilarious. They’ve took it well and wasn’t mean spirited. Makes me like even more and hope he has a long and fruit Ville career in the pros. It was also nice he donated his time to a small school. Thanks as always Hapless. You always bring interesting reads on this board.
