  1. I used to like the drive in when I was a kid. There was one when I was really little in Blasdell. They eventually tore it down, and put up a Hills Dept. Store. If Miami wants to do it, why not? I don’t understand how they are going to protect their turf, but it’s Ross’s money.
  2. It’s silly to rank a QB who hasn’t played a down in the NFL as #1 in the division, but then these rankings are dumb. I understand Darnold ranked higher as he is polished, but he will be forever cursed for being coached by Gase until he is fired.
  3. Diggs my guess was worth it. We now have every weapon we need for a strong offense and the X factor is Allen. I certainly hope and am cautiously optimistic he’ll deliver this year. If he does then the trade was completely worth it. Beane in his wisdom even picked up Diggs for a modest contract comparatively for an elite WR. $11.5-12 mil. Per year for the next three years. Even if we renegotiate in a year or two, we saved comparatively to a Julio Jones contract. To the OP’s point on the draft a crap shoot, just consider Diggs was a 5th round pick.
  4. I’ll have concern in three years when we probably give him a 5th year option, and if they really aren’t absolutely sure, they can tag him for another 1-2 years. You just don’t know what he’ll be capable of doing then. He may have a breakout year, this year, or not. I hope he is a SB caliber guy, and then we pay him. My only other point is I look at a QB compensation in terms of %to the cap, not $ as the cap has steadily increased every year. The larger concern now is the cap retraction that will most likely take place this next year.
  5. If Big Ben is back for the entire season, and if Rivers with a real line and running game at Indy happens, then they are teams to watch more than NE and Dallas. As a previous poster said, fluff piece.
  6. If we cut Murphy, we save $8 mil. to bring us to $28 mil. Or so in space and can then extend Milano and Dawkins. We have two years on White, so hopefully we can extend him next year, and have three years in Allen if he keeps progressing. A previous poster mentioned we have a number of guys up after 2020 or 2021, so we’ll most likely find younger talent to supplant the 30+ guys at the right time.
  7. Ethan, agreed on all points, but the Steelers are known for having 16 home games as they seem to travel better than any other team. Not that I’m a Steelers fan, but respect how many you see in the stands at away games every year.
  8. It was last year, but if we won, we would have kept our starters for the Jets and would have been 12-4. The Patriots would have still won the division, but if we didn’t screw up that punt against the first Patriots game, we would have had the division. Damn Belicheck. He saw in week 1 the Jets brought 9 and our outside guys or at least 1 didn’t slide in which is basics for defending you’re punter. A hat on a hat. The Giants in week 2 brought 10 once and again they almost got to him. The muffed snap blew it for us and the rest is history. Kudos for Belicheck picking up on our flawed execution of punts. Since then I noticed the outside guys sliding in when they slid in on the punt. It’s all water under the bridge as the Pats and us both lost. Would a game in OP against the Titans meant any difference? I doubt it as TN was hot by the playoffs. They were not the same team as they were when we played them early in the year.
  9. Milano won’t take a step back as he is a sideline to sideline LB and has a nose for the ball. He also knows McD’s defense like the back of his hand. Dawkins on the other hand is solid, but will just be consistent this year.
  10. Goodell already stated on behalf of the owners that until all teams in all states represented open, they won’t give an unfair advantage to some teams over others. Now if other teams in states not open develop a plan to go to more open states such as AZ and FL, then they can proceed so no, there probably will not be OTA’s this upcoming week. The best we can hope for in the NFL is training camp in July.
  11. Nothing? Like my great Uncles in WW2 who gave their life not have us all speaking German. My father and two Uncles served in Korea, and another who served in Vietnam. They weren’t politicians. They served for their country, and their brothers. In medical device sales and Mgmt, I’ve been in VA’s and MTF’s (military treatment facilities basically hospitals on base) for decades and saw what these brave young men did for our country. How dare you make a political statement today! You sicken me and no I won’t reply but you should be ashamed of yourself. On another day or on another site, make you’re political statements about politicians, not our brave men and women. I’m sorry mods, but this sickens me. Veterans should be honored, period.
  12. Peters, Paup, Spielman, Woods, Spikes, and Fletcher. I guess you could say Clements and Winfield as you hear them talked about in their teams after Buffalo.
  13. 50,000,000 people died in 1918. The lesser quarantined cities had the greatest deaths. Still think we should have 80,000 people in New Era in the field in September. Thanks for sharing Chandler. That was only for the minority thinking there should be no restrictions which again is the significant minority.
  14. Bailey will get a lot of Fitz, and he is good at knowing the aptitude’s of his players and catering the team to those strengths, aka. Spiller. They still have with all of their spending and draft picks holes on all three sides of the ball, so if Tua takes over in the second half of the year, they may be good, but not as good as us.
  15. It basically eliminates the on-side kick. If you play that scenario out, it would have to be a pass on 4th and 15, and being on the 25 yard line it almost assuredly would result in a lot of TD’s for the opposition. Now, it’s easy to go to the typical game at the last minute a team down and taking any kind of risk, but what about out of the box thinking like Sean Payton in the SB against the Colts, where they started the second half with an on-side kick. I was rooting for the Saints, but that was a brassy call. He’d never do that with this potential new rule.
  16. I don’t mind Brown, and Tasker is fine with me, but if he’s gone, that’s too bad. I know a lot of people don’t like it, but not a big to me. Glad is fine for a filler, but a three hour host seems a bit much to me. She also has everything scripted with her trivia questions, etc.
  17. I’m with Doc Graham, who is much more learned than me, but I have been in medical device sales and biotechnology which he knows what that means and worn masks for almost two decades in OR’s and Surgery Centers. I can understand them mandating the plastic face guards to just keep the sweat and other particulates from going directly to their mouth and nose, but it is unreasonable to think an N95 mask will do anything for these guys. Besides if they are sweating on each other especially in the lines, then when they would rub their eyes or nose, they would be just as at risk. This screams of PR. I’ve already said many times I won’t make decisions to go to games until a vaccine only because it is my choice. I don’t care if others go, but not for me and I’m healthy as anything working out six days a week. I just don’t see these masks doing anything other than NFL saying they look good. Good news down here in FL is the cases are dropping week by week, so teams wanting to practice down here isn’t a bad thing. Now that would be funny. Bubble football.
  18. Well, the cap guys say without fans they lose 12% of their revenue so that’s $24 mil loss next year. It may increase thereafter and the networks kill it with people not wanting even if they do open at 25% to take the risk. That said, he’s a solid QB, but not worth $35 mil. Let him sit. The Cincy kid on a good team (almost threw up saying that about Dallas) will do well so the leverage is with Dallas. Besides it’s fun seeing all the drama down there.
  19. Well, no hesitation, but growing up in Buffalo (my by far first team) and living the last half of my life in Tampa, selfishly would love to see this game and yes root 1 million % for the Bills. I would love for the Bucs to at least get there. That would be fun. As much as I hate to admit I have to root for Brady living here, that day would wish for a 4 sack day for Brady, and not wrap up but slam him.
  20. This is the exact reason I don’t follow closely power rankings and these ratings. I’m sure he’s a good guy, but this is silly given our tandem. We’ll see what he says at the end of the year once we are a top 3 running team in the NFL. I can’t wait to see Moss wiggle to huge yards like McCoy, and Moss to beat the absolute hell (sorry Mods) out of LBs. I can’t wait even though they won’t do it to have the old Jacked Up where Moss wrecks guys. Reminds me in a smal way our stud inside LB, Conan back then getting jacked up by Christian from KC. That guy was a man amongst boys. Too bad he didn’t last longer.
  21. I really appreciate the sincere responses. If true as everyone is innocent until proven guilty, the player might be ok ok with a sincere apology. I would as long as I feel confident it won’t happen again. Not people on this board, but the macho attitude you can’t be approached inappropriately if you’re a man is wrong. He wasn’t wrong, but I can tell you with my wife, I wouldn’t tolerate it. I wouldn’t hurt her at all, but I would grab her hand and say ENOUGH. Leave me alone. Again, he didn’t do anything wrong, and maybe she was messed up. Not an excuse, but just stop it. That girls hand would hurt if it was me, if the attendants did nothing, ok. Just send a message, you won’t abuse me. The crappy thing is how many women don’t or can’t have that ability. Thanks to my friends her who didn’t make this something silly. For my Cowboys Girl, I’m sorry you had to deal with that terrible behavior. I believe 99.9% of guys on this board would be on the other side seeing it, and saying, leave her alone or you deal with me. Not a breaking law guy, but in this case, I wouldn’t have a problem defending a woman no matter the consequence, God bless guys and won’t reply again.
  22. This isn’t a joke, and if there were no other seats, he would be stuck there since you can’t walk around on a flight other than use the facilities. United isn’t responsible for her bad behavior, but if the attendants didn’t make efforts to stop it by switching seats for him or at least giving a warning to the women, then they are responsible. I have too many women that are my friends and unfortunately family who have suffered from the same type of acts. I sincerely hope this doesn’t turn into a joke thread, because there is nothing funny about it.
  23. Excellent point. Epenesa didn’t do anything wrong. Without looking up, how many posters could name off all 32 coordinators on offense and defense? Again, no googling. The video was pretty funny though.
  24. If people want to throw away $, that is their call. I take vitamins as well, but I don’t for a minute think I’m so protected from corona. If people believe that, shame on the, for their stupidity. Being healthy against corona or anything else is good, but doesn’t mean you can’t contract it. As Ron White from the Blue Collar Comedy tour said, “You Can’t Fix Stupid”. Love that comic. Not that I’m a drinker or smoker, but he is so funny with his wiseass attitude drinking scotch, and smoking a cigar on stage.
