  1. Not crazy about the sulking, but the game was over and players can get frustrated. They are human beings, and I remember losing a couple of games in my day playing and coaching. It’s hard to put on a good face when you know it’s over. In some way, the fact that the loss meant so much to him he was that upset tells me he really wanted to eat the Chiefs, and tried his best to make that happen. It was tough coaching kids and staying positive on a game plan you worked on all week, and to see the dejected look in the boys faces, a and trying to keep positive with them, then having to give you’re post game speech trying to find positives in a bad loss. Im not going to bang on Diggs for that point. I was just listening to Sal in his 7 am spot the other day, and he commented how thoughtful, positive, and engaging he is with the media. He also said he noticed the comradery between Allen and Diggs.
  2. No $ is getting taken off the books this year as these players were signed and were on the active roster on game 1. You have to pick up someone after the first game and then cut them if they don’t work out to not have to cut space. As far as Hughes, and Murphy, I don’t think they are in our plans after this year, and Butler and Addison are stop gaps for the next two years as we would have overpaid for J. Phillips, and Shaq. They are doing the best they can with what they have and we have no idea if Beane is calling every week of the season. The notion he is just sitting back is ridiculous. These are knee jerk reactions to losing to the two AFC Championship teams. I thought we could beat the Titans given they have given up a lot of points to other teams. That was a heartbreaking loss. I was hopeful, but not expecting to win against the SB Champs. Horrible Harry Phillips.
  3. This year we should make the playoffs again for a third time in four years, shedded bad contracts and players, and have changed the culture of the team. I remember you liking McD in the past. We just had two bad losses. It’s doesn’t mean we are falling apart, and I don’t share you’re thoughts the Pats will shred us. I’m not saying it’s a lock, we win, but I don’t subscribe to we will get killed by the Pats. They just lost to the back up QB for the Broncos. My take is similar to what someone else stated we just lost to the two teams in the AFCC game last year. Tennessee beat the Patriots and Ravens last year and that was with Brady. The Ravens had the MVP of the league. You beat me to it Thurmon. This blitzing strategy is what the Chiefs want and torch their opponents. The Chargers almost beat the Chiefs because they coached a game like McD.
  4. Steve, the Rams and now Miami are proving they are not garbage teams, nor are the Raiders. Virgil, spot on as always. I believe in Josh, and he’ll get his mojo back against the Jests. Then we should be playing with confidence against the Pats. The sky is falling by some is just not smart, and proves they don’t know football. There is a reason only two teams have gone undefeated in the regular season since the merger.
  5. I said before the season when we made predictions we would take the East, and go 10-6 to 11-5. Look at the rest of the schedule and it’s very plausible and as Ross Tucker said on WGR, he thought this should happen and most likely win one of the playoff games, but not ready for the SB yet. I agree this is about where we are as a team, but it is also depending on injuries, who, and when they happen. There is a growing group of posters who all sound very similar who have an agenda to bash the Bills just to tick off others who are Bills fans. I don’t care as those people I just don’t read their posts. Disappointing night, but it’s not like everyone was so confident we were going to win. We hoped the Bills would win, but I wasn’t counting on it. That’s silly. These are the SB champs. The Raiders were built to beat KC, and so are the Titans. They pound the ball right at you, and have a powerful defensive line on both teams. I still contend we will get this worked out and very likely we win the next two. Seattle is the next huge test for us. Their defense may not be playing well, but their offense looks unstoppable.
  6. To use a Dr. Evil comment, “that pickle vomit comment just weirds me out, ok, ok”. As far as desperation, not sure. You might be right, but because I know you miss my usual comment, Stop yelling at me! Luv ya buddy. Go Bills. Game On Baby!
  7. Not accurate Ethan, and wasn’t directed to you at all. He was either interchangeable, to expendable, to not worth it, or avg. at best. Read the history, and no I won’t reply as you have you’re opinion. I respect, but respectfully disagree. Spotrac state he has a $13 mil./yr. value and if we extended him now would include this years cheap 5th round draft pick value bringing him down to $10.7 mil./yr. which is what people did on the math with Dawkins. They made the argument his $15 mil./yr. was only 12.6 mil. Given the cheap year this year. We are now seeing what it’s like without him and he was a lot more valuable than was expounded upon for the last 8 months. Believe what you want my fellow Bills friend, but these guys, meaning Star and him are more valuable than people have stated in the past. Agree to disagree I guess. Go Bills tonight!
  8. Don, didn’t you hear, Milano sucks too, oh wait, people not knowing a damn thing about football. Still thinking you need a LB like R. Lewis who is 255 lbs., vs. the 2020 Wil. LB who is 235 lbs., athletic, plays sideline to sideline, and can cover TE’s, you know like Kelce tonight. I’m kidding, but never banged on Star as he was a space eating 1 technique DT, who wasn’t meant to get a ton of sacks as we had J. Phillips for that, but to be our big old Teddy W. He was fine. Bottom line is these coaches will need to coach what they have and see what is the best combination. There is no magic bullet off this team. The only one I’d want who knows our defense and team back and forward in Lorax. Get it over with and get him back. Even if he plays 40% of defensive snaps it’s far worth it, oh and he’s relatively cheap.
  9. Hap, exactly. When I used to coach football, it was simple, they play deep zone, you throw underneath, they move up, you throw deep. Not rocket science. They can’t cover everything short and deep, and even coaching QB’s at a young age, you make sure they give up tendencies, and just take what is open. It’s why we lost the Giants SB. Marv and Kelly were so heck bent on the k gun, they didn’t recognize, or ignored due to hubris they were only rushing 3, so the Thurmonator was running all over them. They could have kept doing that and forced BB to move more up which would have opened up the passing game. It was a horrible decision. As much as I love Coach Marv, I hope McD and Daboll learn from their mistake last week and just hit the weakest spot and put coach them. That will be hard with Reid, but I believe in these guys.
  10. Bill, my friend, I agree this obviouS tanking just stinks for the league and that team. You had mentioned another team, and the only example I can think of which is nowhere close to this debacle is my other team, 2nd of course to the Bills, is the Bucs, when they threw the last half of the last game to get the #1 spot for Winston over Marriotta that year. It was obvious was pulling everyone in the second half of that last game for Winston. Look how good that worked out for Tampa and TN. Tanking cheapens the team so wasn’t arguing there at all. I just have buddies who are Jets fans, transplants from NY/NJ as they are the NJ Jets as well as the NJ Giants, and I just can’t bust their chops. They are good guys, my Giants friends too, and at least the Giants are trying to win. I would be beside myself if I had a team that sucked since 1969. Maybe a reprieve when Parcells was briefly there at the Jets. All I can say is say a prayer for our beloved Bills today, and could be a fun two weeks with the Jets, and Pats, and can’t believe ESPN’s mock projection of the Bills at 7-1 at the half mark would be amazing. I’m not assuming after the Chiefs if we win, will definitely beat the Pats, but it’s looking better. We have some tough games after the Chiefs and Pats, like the Hawks.
  11. I don’t get wrapped around the axle over these questions (not directed at you Hap), just blow it off. Could she have been a little more tactful, yes, but she knows asking in this manner gets her a little more publicity or clicks. Generally, I’ve thought she does a decent job on NFLN, and probably was looking for a sound bite. Those that said, show it on the field today are right. Let the team’s actions do all the talking. This morning, people are giving a lot of love to the Bucs, Steelers, and Titans. The Bills win convincingly today, and they will be the highlight tomorrow. 🤞
  12. War, that’s the logical choice for me. If Darnold was behind Brady, Or Big Ben, he would sit for at least a year, but he has a chance behind Brees, or Rivers next year. I can see both retiring after this year.
  13. Bill, what do you want from the Jests? Seriously, I almost feel bad for the classy Jets fans, not the trolls. I have some friends originally from NY and I don’t even have the heart to kid even a little as they are so dejected now. As far as Darnold, I can see a team giving a second or maybe a third for him. No one is giving up a 1st. He just needs to get the heck out of there. There will be some coach who thinks they can rehabilitate him. I still contend one of the teams with an aging QB would consider him. Reich is now a HC, but was a great QB coach a few years ago.
  14. This is what I can see as a solution for this year. Lorax would be a great defensive leader, and can mentor Edmunds on the field, he’s still it looks to be in great shape, said he could be open to the idea. I know originally it was if We were in playoff contention which at 4-1 is something around an 87% chance of making the playoffs, and I’m sure he wouldn’t mind another payday. To me Lorax looked just as good last year as he did two years earlier. He can be on a pitch count, etc. There really isn’t anyone better on the street unless you want to resurrect Clay Matthews, but he didn’t look the same towards the end.
  15. Just looking for good games. The Bears/Panthers they moved to now, so kind of fun. I root for the Browns only because they’ve had as much misery as us over the decades, not that I dislike the Steelers. Well, I live in Tampa, so you know. I know it’s personal for you guys with Brady. I just feel for all of my friends down here who have suffered too. At the end of the day, of the Bills win, I honestly don’t care about anything else. I want the Bucs to win, and those skill players are fun, but it’s hard to root against our Icebowl buddy who is a friend on this board.
  16. Points well taken Hapless. If McD believes in him, I can try just getting a little frustrated and seeing some of these other rookie TE’s, doesnt help.
  17. Down here we are getting the Steelers at 1pm, and Tampa of course at 4 pm. Should both be good games, but yesterday, the MTC guys were stating the game of the week is, you guessed it, the Bills/Chiefs.
  18. Agreed. He was a nice kid, and yes they rushed him back, but he was given so many chances, and couldn’t even hold onto a backup job. I lost track of him after the Raiders cut him. I wish him well whatever he is doing now.
  19. I listened to Sal Friday morning on the Lorax dialogue he had with him on Edmunds. Sal said we are built more for a 4-3 given our players, but hypothetically Sal thought Edmunds is best suited for a MLB in the traditional 3-4. The 3-4 doesn’t fit into what McDermott likes to do in his scheme. I’m sure he can do it if he wanted to do so. We would definitely need Star for that to happen, and McD learned under Jimmy Johnson In Philly who loved the 3-4. I think people are piling a little on Edmunds. He’s made some mistakes, but he also is trying to play hurt.
  20. If Milano, White, Brown, and Edmunds Play, then Bills 34-31. If the key players don’t play, Chiefs 42–28.
  21. This is like, “Would you like this rotten tomato, or this brown disgusting apple core.” They both suck. You have to hope the rookie will be ok, or I don’t know if Davis Webb is worth it. Barkley had one good game against the Jests, but then again it was the Jests.
  22. Gugs, agreed. I had high hopes for him as well, but if you’re always more concerned with the homerun that you look up field too fast and drop the ball, you’re no good for the team. Kroft May have not little world on fire, but he catches most so far, and then worries about what he’ll do after he secures the ball. After watching th eMiami rookie TE, and some other rookies, I just don’t know if Knox will progress. I was fine with being patient with him last year, but he’s making the same mistakes as last year.
  23. The Wilson example are spot on, and it was noted later Carroll liked his hands were almost 10 inches so grip wouldn’t be a big deal. He is one of my favorite QB’s as he gives the illusion of running, but ends up throwing accurately at the last moment.
  24. Not a big fan. I don’t if you guys noticed, the Titans punter was pinning it so close to the end zone, directional, etc.
