  1. He’d better load up on NFL assistants. He does cultivate good programs, but he’s kind of like the Parcells of college ball. He builds a program up and then takes off, ie. Pats, Jets, Fins as a GM, and Dallas. I didn’t include the Giants as he hung around there for quite sometime. Not that this is a good reason to hire someone, but he is God in that area. Not because of his Ohio days, but FL. That’s Gator country. He’ll have a nice QB to develop, and there are some talented players on that team, not a lot, so he will have to build this up over a couple of years like McD did here. One thing I haven’t seen posted yet (may have missed it) is we play them in Jax next year. The vaccine thing should be close to done by September so you could enjoy three FL games if you like to travel for the games (Tampa, Jax, and Miami).
  2. Exactly Hap. Although nickel is their go to in most games which is very good against the pass and outside throws, Lamar is just not adept at outside throws. It’s a little out of context for this unit, base defense could help and clogging up the interior lanes. Milano has to have a good game against the TE’s. They don’t play as much 13 personnel this year, but a lot of 12. These are big ifs, but if we clog up the middle from the pass and play contain, Lamar is not going to have a good day.
  3. It’s what happens when the memory fades over 40 years. Fond innocent memories. Go Goggles.
  4. This is Richard trying to be on a SB team again before he retires. He’s a smart guy, but very outspoken. Not a bad thing. He would if he could actually play even 80% of what he used to do as a solid zone corner. He’d have to sell out for a ring, as he’s not worth top $.
  5. Donuts, I’m a little disappointed you didn’t take a guess. It was the alter ego of Fred Flinstone who was a car racer in that cartooning the 60’s. Used to watch as a boy on CBC when I was little as reruns. As you know Fred was built like a brick shirt house, aka, Star. Lovin the creativity though.
  6. Donuts, you’re into something, but I’m going with Google Gispoceles for his name (I’ll give you a quarter if you figure that one out). You’ll know it as soon as I mention it. BTW, you can’t google as doesn’t show up. 🤔
  7. Doc, funny you say that as I’ve always respected Harbaugh, and a team that came out strong since the beginning. Incidentally, I forgot Deion was there. I just get sick of the melodrama with Ray Lewis. He was positive the other day about the Bills on Inside the NFL, but he is over the top. It’s like he is still trying to overcompensate for that mess in Atlanta over 20 years ago. After watching the show, I was even more emboldened how much I hope we bury them Saturday night.
  8. So my answer is hell no to fire ants. Bad memories. Don, I’ll pm you a funny true story about my stupidity with those things when I moved here.
  9. Michael, that is correct. Art Modell (the owner who championed MNF and several other league advancements as well as championed more African Americans drafted in the 50’s and 60’s before it became common, ie. Jim Brown and others) tried negotiating with Ohio and Cleveland for a new stadium as the old one was falling apart. The city and state continued to stall, and Baltimore ponied up. Baltimore if you remember had the Colts there forever until they moved out in. The middle of the night in 1984. MD was willing to pay a substantial amt. of $ for the new stadium. Modell supposedly warned Ohio he would have to move if they didn’t find the $. The Ravens came to fruition in 1996 (when Ray Lewis was drafted). Incidentally, I knew people from Cleveland would probably not be happy about the whole situation, but when I went there fir a couple of business trips, I heard first hand the vitriol for Modell. It’s understandable if we lost our Bills. There is a lot more, but it was a crazy time during the 80’s and 90’s with teams moving, expansion, etc. it’s understandable especially if you’re younger (just a guess, but could be wrong) to not have all the movement down. The historians probably could do a better job then me if this is a serious inquiry.
  10. OP, 1975 corrected you’re post. We play the other AFC divisions every three years and every 6 at home which is what we assume you are referring to and that is not abnormal. That is how the NFL works. The other years, it depends on where you finish the year before. this has been the case forever. Not you, but am baffled I continue to hear this fro people who say “why this Ir that”. There is nothing mysterious about it. Just like we play every NFC division every 4 years, and at home every 8 years. I hope that helps, but nothing fluky or mysterious about it.
  11. It should be fun, but remember the next decade will also be a bunch of top nfc top QB high drafts based on you’re assertion. It may even out. The 80’s and 90’s was two decades where there was no free agency fir 12-13 years, and it reverberated for a few years after. The next decade was all AFC, and even the last decade. The 70’s was all AFC. What is fun is seeing all of these young guys growing into their positions. I seriously doubt the Texans would ever allow under any circumstances a trade fir Watson to Miami or anyone else, but if happened, there goes our lock on the East. Tua will probably get better, but Watson on the Fins would be tough for a very long time.
  12. First, we can figure this out after the season. I care only about this Saturday, then next Sunday, and so on. Second, I’m not placing my hopes on any fee agent with an expected drop in the cap. it’s setting yourself up for a let down as at best we’ll get one or two lowly role players. Lastly, younger is the key, not old guys. Anyway, let’s have fun Saturday and see our team enjoy hopefully a hard fought victory.
  13. I don’t subscribe if we win to next week, or the SB, dare I say it, but I’ve said twice. Now in other threads, absolutely this week. Making leaps, the Chiefs can come back, and so can who potentially would be the SB opponent, but the Ravens are so much better with the lead. I’d love to put them on their heals up front.
  14. Thanks Thurmon. I don’t spend a lot of time on advanced analytics, but helpful for the explanation. I would agree with you Rodgers has earned MVP. He’s looked dominating this year as has Allen, but I don’t care if Allen gets it. He has a decade and a half to win that one, and I’ll take a ring for him and MVP in the SB.
  15. Man I thought mods were like this... Just kidding Hap. Trying to lighten it up. Besides you guys do have 7 of 9. As far as JW, I like that guy. It would be nice if he was invited if they had another sports radio station or pod cast like Sal’s, amd provided the Bills perspective. Juxtapose this tool or tries to besmirch this great city, people, and fans to most of the hosts on WGR or even Vic who does his show on Saturdays on NFLR. I never hear Howard, Jeremy, Sal, Lou, Chris, or Steve slam other fan bases or teams. They may cite the advantages of our team over them, but not childish derogatory comments like we are still in middle school. Im glad he declined and thanks for sharing as I never heard this guys original comments last year. The middle schooler in me (I won’t) after hopefully we destroy them or at least win, call into his show and play back his comments.
  16. New Era, lots of good points, but if you’re referring to Steve Young, and he didn’t last, I don’t understand. Steve young has a career 64.5% career comp. %, played in the NFL for 15 years (additionally 2 years in the USFL) was league MVP twice, has a SB ring, and is in the HOF. How did he suck? I know he was hurt a lot towards the end, but he never sucked. Now as an announcer, he can be a pain at times, but I don’t watch ESPN often except MNF, and even then I usually don’t watch the pregame. I was a little surprised more people have not referenced Cunningham as he was a heck of a QB.
  17. 31-19 Bills Our defense will keep them to four FG’s., and one TD slips by us. We will score first. Since they are not good at all at coming from behind, if we win the toss, we should take it. I know most teams don’t, but this is a team we should elect to receive. Good guys win. Then we can be told all next week we are the underdogs again, but hey, we’re used to it. Then we pull it off, and we are told we are the underdog against the Packers. Then... Note: Gugs, you need to get you’re shorts back. 🤪🏈 Sorry, bud I know you have a good sense of humor.
  18. As far as Frazier, he’s a previous head coach and wasn’t the only person who is African American interviewed, so it stands to reason he was interviewed as he’s done a sound job with our defense. I wish him well and it is a sincere compliment of our staff to have both coordinators in the running for HC openings.
  19. Rebound, is this current? I’m not questioning you per se, but Jason Wright is the President of the Washington Football team and is African American. This was news this off season as he was the first one. He is supposed to be a very sharp guy. I hope is the first of several if earned and he worked his way up to this role.
  20. Nickel, they are only 3-4 against teams with a winning record during the regular season. If you include last weekend, 4-4. Given we are including last weekend, juxtapose their record as eball mentioned to the Bills of 7-3. Which team needs to be more worried this Saturday night? They lost to Pitt twice, TN, NE, KC (not even close, and we mirror KC more than anyone in the AFCE). Everyone take a breath and enjoy the ride. We win this one, make it’s reasonable for people’s anxiety levels to increase against the Chiefs. It would be great to see the Browns upset them, but not likely.
  21. Done, thanks Shady. Not a Twitter guy, but signed up for Josh. I went with Henry too. He deserves it. I see Rodgers is in the lead, so get going guys.
  22. Motorin, you must be from downstate, because not “everyone” identifies upstate and downstate. That is unique to people who live in Westchester, Rockland, and the islands. I went to school with 65% of people from that area, ad married a girl from Lindenhurst. I've lived in FL for half of my life, and no one even knows except New Yorkers what upstate and downstate. I always consider3d my friends from Westchester and Rockland as downstaters as the accent, personality type, and commonalities from that regional area. Western NYers have much more in common with Rottenchester, Syracuse, and Allegheny. They even have more commonalities with people from Cleveland and Pittsburgh. Homestly, it doesn’t matter to me as this was a silly semantic argument with all of my fraternity brothers back in college. If you’re point is Pepsi is closer to the NY metro area, no argument from me. Then again a lot of companies aren’t necessarily from the geographic area of the respective stadium. Any if these major conglomerates can easily afford it, and if they have consultants that know football, they would know the Bills are going to be a hot ticket for awhile, and will draw more primetime games, thus making it more attractive of a stadium to pay the fee. The sad thing for these companies as it seems more about bravado, then an ROI. I’ve read now several articles these companies don’t see a return, so a few have pulled back on their investments. Hey as long as it’s not the tushy bowl, I don’t really care. If it lines the Pegulas pockets, it offsets some of these other losses in a difficult year for everyone. Here’s to 2021 being a much brighter year for all of us.
