  1. Turk, ill defer to you’re wisdom, so look forward how you guys break it out.
  2. C’mon Gugs, that was funny. I actually loved all the light stuff with the snowball fight, the Xmas song, and so on. It kept them loose through the first two rounds of the playoffs. Barkley was what this team needed for three years. He helped in 2018 when Allen went down. I’m thankful for that piece and Mitch is an upgrade.
  3. I can honestly tell ROC , I am not a tough guy, but I’m not scared easily. Charlie was a cat 5, tightly spun, and was going to destroy Tampa. I had three babies at the time, and the roads were crazy with people trying to get out. We put all three in the same bedroom and had the news on. When it was heading directly to us 40 minutes to landfall, we went from watching the news to literally all three of us on our knees, holding hands saying our fathers over and over again. My wife was crying, my oldest son was five and he was scared out of his mind. When my buds from Buffalo were trying to kid with me, I told them a lot of people died in that storm. Calling it a storm doesn’t even do it justice. I’ll. Take a blizzard any day of the week. Anyway, this is a football forum so I won’t bore you guys with more details.
  4. Thanks as Hap brought this up on Addison for us, so Spotrac must be delayed. It doesn’t surprise me given the activity this week. Sorry for the confusion Strive. I knew someone would clear it up.
  5. Ok, you just explained to me on another thread for Ertz why they are still listed (Eagles) are listed as -$4.85 mil. Hap, do you have any idea why or if Hughes didn’t get a paycut. Not becuase he’s not productive and a very solid all around DE, but he is 33 this August, and he doesn’t want to be on the street with the other hundreds of over 30 players this season. I honestly am a little surprised. He’s making $7.35 mil. this year as he already has his signing bonus. He’s in his last year so you can’t restructure unless they want to add years, and I doubt it at 33.
  6. Prime, if you think he really would accept $3-4 mil., has hopefully gone to rehab and stopped drinking, then he’s, people can change. He had a me first attitude when here, so Hopefully the Rams and Chiefs made an impact there. A team taking him on would on.y happen with a strong minded coach with a good culture. I don’t hold grudges in my professional or personal life, so I’m fine with all of those caveats. I’d wonder out loud if he could return. If so McKenzie might not get signed. I have no idea who would be the better option. I really like McKenzie so you guys decide. It would be plausible to have both meaning... Diggs Beasely Davis Sanders McKenzie Watkins That would mean Hodgins would go back to the PS unless he beats out one of the above. Since we’re playing the what if’s, that would mean no WR in the mid rounds of the draft. I know McBeane likes to develop their own so you’d think they would lean towards McKenzie and Hodgins, but you get more speed for Watkins.
  7. Honestly Strive, I’m sure someone will enlighten but as of midnight on Spotrac, they were -$4.5mil. The rules as they’ve been explained to me was the league starts shedding players for you if you don’t do it yourself. I swear this issue is brought up almost daily on NFLR. Being in sales and Mgmt, I’m in the car all day long. I’d rather listen to to WGR (at least when they are talking Bills) or NFLR, than to music. So good question as Spotrac is on it almost in real time once. One of the capologists on this board smarter than me will enlighten us. It’s why I brought it up as I was expecting someone to help. I just opened Spotrac Eagles again and numbers haven’t changed. It’s funny if the Eagles release him they save $4.7 of the listed deficit $4.85. Other teams will fly to pick him up as they can rework his deal. So capologists, please enlighten us. BTW the $4.85 is the estimated top 51. He’d be great, but I doubt they are open to a trade, and they eat a lot of dead cap to trade him.
  8. PT, I’m not saying I wouldn’t mind him as a backup, just don’t think it’s likely. He had helped in KC in spot duty. He’d have to come in cheap.
  9. I used to think that on the tax part several years ago, but I’ve seen too many players opt for other teams over the three in FL and the two in Texas. Besides if you live in Orlando, it’s like clockwork each year there is an article in the Tampa or Orlando papers about how all of the impact fees and other taxes ends up comparing for many to the ones who have state taxes. I think you look around the league and what teams are just a mess. Now, it’s Jax, Detroit, the Jets, Houston, and Chicago. Think of the teams who don’t have even remotely a QB. When teams like SF (I think many players like Jimmy G. more than fans), AZ, GB, etc. If it weren’t for it being Vegas, I can see players not really crazy about Gruden. He wore out his welcome here in the 2000’s. I know Houston is in full rebuild, but if Watson stays, I would change my mind about Houston not a destination. Players want to be on winning teams especially a reputation for good Mgmt, coaching, and Josh Allen. When they see what Diggs did last year, he becomes a reliable salesperson for bringing in FA talent.
  10. I doubt we’re bringing in Sammy when we just signed Sanders.
  11. Well even the Kelly years, primarily it was only two in Thurmon and Kenny Davis.
  12. I don’t know. On one side he would improve our secondary, but the cost can hurt us down the road. I’d like him, but I seriously doubt Beane goes after him.
  13. I thought we were the Toilet Bowl. I feel so clean, I just want to go again. 😏🏈 CBS reported they want a 3rd or 4th. Beane’s just waiting for them to cut him. The Eagles are still $4.5 mil. over so we’ll see.
  14. Not really understanding the debate on if an edge rusher is valuable. The answer is simple. YES. Interior pressure is also extremely valuable (see Aaron Darnold). I was disappointed we didn’t secure Ngakoue, but when I heard it was only $13 mil./yr., I was furious. I know there better all around DE’s, but he is a great pressure guy. He and Epenesa would’ve been an excellent rotation. I don’t know who is left at this point, nor what we have left. Maybe we can at least add depth at TE with Rudolph. I haven’t heard he was snagged yet. I know a DE thread so I got it.
  15. Dude, nice research. Seriously, good call on this one. I’m impressed. Keep up the good work. I love when guys think about a topic, do research, and place a very thoughtful well informed response. Not that the OP was wrong as his impression was an overspend on ST, but this kind of reply places things into perspective. Im glad we do our best to field a solid team on ST. My guess and have nothing to back it up, but the Ravens HC, a guy I respect in Harbaugh came from ST. If the results came up as we spend $11 mil., and every other playoff team avg. $3 mil, then ok., but not what you found. Well done brother.
  16. Yo, fast man, I was crazy insane for this little ..... Crazy? Insane? I was nuts for this woman. Enjoy. A frat buddy and myself used to imitate this scene all the time when at parties. He loved my Hall voice. Great movie for the youngins. It’s silly but hilarious.
  17. Yeah, Beane convinced Barry to come out if retirement. Whoo, whoo. Our running game is fixed. Thurmon get on the treadmill. We need ya. Process, I’m kidding. I’m fine with passing on Fuller. He’s Watkins. Great when healthy, but almost never healthy.
  18. Amen. They know what they have in McKenzie.
  19. Thanks Lime. Doesn’t surprise me Beane was on MTC. He makes good points. There will never be a QB controversy ever. Also, it’s kind of a sign, Beane is with his feet not just his mouth in it for the championship. We paid a reasonable amt. of $ for a high quality backup. NO had to pay a heck of a lot more for Bridgewater. Mitch gets to be on a potential SB contender for a year, and maybe sees playing time for a game or two. He wins and maybe someone takes a chance on him gain in the future. I believe this is a great move. It also seems like maybe now that we are in full FA mode, there is a chance someone falls to use as the ridiculous $ are going to go away and there maybe value out there over the next couple of days.
  20. Considering we were expecting prior to the pandemic it rising to $210 mil. in 2021, and given the last 8 years it’s been about a $10 mil. increase per year, it wasn’t as much of a windfall as some projected prior to this news. I’m happy we can get back on track, and will really help with Josh and Edmunds contracts as well as a bunch of others coming in the next couple of years.
  21. Darnit SC, you actually had me excited this morning on Mack or Fuller. I knew in my heart it was a pipe dream, but I held out a glimmer of hope. As far as Mitch, he probably is an upgrade so that’s fine. I always liked Barkley. $2.5 mil. is not a big deal. I hope he never sees the field, but if Josh gets hurt for a couple of games, not a bad option.
  22. Yep, that and his part in the 12 days of Xmas. I thought he was 5 golden rings. He was a class act here, and when we needed him in that Jets game, he was awesome destroying them. Mitch is probably the better QB. I was a little surprised he took the offer as he has zero chance to get on the field unless Josh is hurt.
