We were 14th in defense, 16th in points so average, not bad. We improved as we became healthy from Seattle thereafter, but we were 2nd in offense. It’s not that we have to make incredible improvements, but just move into the top 10. We were a little spoiled as we were 3rd in defense in 2019, but partially influenced by playing the NFC Least. We need more pressure from the front four. There is no denying it, but to say we had a bad defense is just not accurate. We were 13-3, 15-4 if you count the playoffs, and by god we had a bad game against the Chiefs. Everyone seems to forget our defense held the Ravens to 3 pts. the week before. I don’t think Star is the next coming of Donald, but he’s a solid DT. To the OP’s point, drafting a DT is not a bad idea if one is available, and I’m not sure if we can get an impactful DE, but I’m sure it’s on their radar.

In 2017, KC traded from 27th to get to 10th, their 3rd round pick and 1st in 2018 to get Mahomes. I’m not sure if an Edge Rusher is worth that much, but that’s a template of what it would take to get one of the premier guys this year. Given the talent on our team, I’d do it if, and a big if the Edge Rusher is that good. You draft gurus can let us know if there is one that awesome to use that capital. John, I think they are going to be balanced in the draft. Look at last year. DE RB WR QB K WR CB They extended now a G, T, and LB, and some other role players. That was a very balanced draft. We’re most likely going to and not in this order grab maybe a RB, G, TE, WR (speed), DE, CB or S. They’ll probably stack up their board at each position and then rate, and take whatever comes to them. Beane has a tendency to move up more than down, so this could be interesting.

While we can agree if we want a player, we can do it, but Beane just took us out of cap hell and we went 6-10. He wants to win now and later. His words. The cap is not going to explode in 2022. I believe it was projected to be $203.5 mil. One of the capologists here broke it down. I can’t remember his source, but check the thread on the cap. He mentioned in 2023 is when we’ll see a big leap to $225 mil., so basically catches up to what it would have been if we didn’t have that little societal problem we don’t discuss (Mods I did my best not to say that word p.n....c). 2024 is the time we start to really feel these new contracts. This may go up faster, but that’s if we go back to 100% occupancy in our stadiums. I honestly have no idea how the Governors are going to manage their respective states. It’s all good news, but suggests we are being careful. All of the contracts we drew up in 2019 and before were predicated on a cap going up $10 mil./yr. avg. for the previous 8 years.

Most likely because they were playing from behind. Hollister is a cheap way to manage losing Smith and Kroft. Would it have been nice to get Ertz, Rudolph, Gronk, sure, but they were too expensive.

Not sure if you were listening this week, but a little different than you’re topic is Sal’s bracket this week. He selected 16 teams with the NCAA basketball tournament and placed as a bracket competing 1 vs. 16 and so on. It was kind of a fun listen and it was only plays so the BB phone toss although awesome, wouldn’t have been included. I don’t pay that close of attention, but I guess fans can vote on the WGR website and by the end of the week the players were getting in on it. I thought a nice slant. You guys have been busy on this thread. I’ll say what I said in the beginning of this news. No one knows and it’s just a matter of waiting it out. He could’ve done it. Some women could be piling on to get a payday. The original complaintent could be changing her story from consensual sex to rape. Everyone of them could’ve been forced into sex. As far as a criminal case, what if they didn’t report quickly enough so there is no rape kit with forensic evidence. My point is there are too many variables to know. I’m not calling her(s) liars, nor am I saying the lawyer is a cheat and a liar. I’m also not saying Watson is innocent nor guilty. Nothing I’ve read so far from you guys infers anything. The civil suits could also be placing pressure on the police to investigate. I don’t know and none of you do either. Im going to sit back, watch, and hopefully the truth comes out. One of the worst outcomes would be if he did something wrong, gets pressured to settle, she or they get paid, and have a gag order and no real consequences occur. That would be awful. I’ve been in business for a long time, but was clinically trained in the 90’s as a psychotherapist. I’ve had far too many women divulge highly inappropriate behavior, and in my personal life found out about far too many women who were taken advantage of by a man. It sickens me as it should you especially seeing as all of you have either a mom, daughter, sister, etc. The pain and damage that causes on healthy relationships, the women that became obese because they wanted to be unattractive to men, promiscuous, starved themselves, cut themself and I can go on. Even if something was mutual, and then she gets cold feet, it’s a hard stop. The flip side is one or more women could be goldiggers and looking for a payday. I’ll wait til there is a real conclusion to comment. The opportunity for a trade though is on hold. This thing is a mess.
