  1. Strange time to be watching A Christmas Story Ralphie. What’s in the ring? Drink more Ovaltine.
  2. We’ll NE, to do what you’re saying, we’d have to swap 1sts, and give them our 6th and 7th. We’d still be short on pts., but they may want the picks. That’s what it would take. Given they are most likely trying to workout extensions for Allen and Edmunds, they are going to need next years picks so I wouldn’t consider that one. If you wait til 24th, the Steelers also need picks for those linemen so we’d have to swap again and give them the 3rd, but they would have to give us their 6th and 7th. Not sure if he’s worth it. Raw talent, and maybe a high ceiling, but are you willing to give away either way you’re third. That’s the question.
  3. me also... are you the reincarnation of jaja binks. Definitely the best Star Wars guy. I’m kidding. Bojo wasn’t worth a big contract.
  4. Liars season. Believe and don’t read into anything. They all lie like an adulteress. I haven’t believed a word of any prognosticator, analyst, coach, manager or anyone else. They all lie. Im ok with it. I can’t believe there is something to read into from some people. There isn’t. He’ll, wecluld be taking. Long snapper for what we know (not really).
  5. Agreed Ruben Kinkaid, now go get a gig for our family band, and move that stupid multi colored bus. 🤪😜
  6. Only because we were picking 30th thought maybe worth it like KC did last year, but Beane again has picked up nice role players including Breida for speed. I walked away from that position and believe we need to meet need with BOA on our board. As much as it’s commonly thought CB, DE, and maybe DT are the best places to take at 30, my guess is CB and DT quality maybe better than Edge. Any would be fine with me. A big nickel later in the draft, and maybe Beane pulls his magic and gets us on more TE. I like the Hollister plan especially because there is cohesion with Josh at Wyoming. My WAG is Josh was lobbying to seek him out.
  7. For those who are not convinced yet, the Bills have the 5th year option at $12 mil. If they choose, and could even tag him the next year. He’s still on his rookie contract. Personally, I would place the 5th year option on him, see how he does with whoever we draft and not injured see what happens. It really doesn’t matter what we think. It matters what Frazier, McD, and Beane thinks. It’s my guess they see what they want out of him and he’s going to probably get either an extension or the option thrown on him.
  8. Lyndon, thank you as auto correct way too early in the morning. Thank you though as you knew what I meant. I wrote correctly, but didn’t spell check. Seriously thank you. I’ll go back and edit. Appreciate it. ok fixed and again thank you. Our past president has nothing to do with a football conversation.
  9. You’re papers please! That would be a heck no, and I’ve been to Cleveland several times for work. Great people, but uh no. Besides other than getting you’re franchise QB maybe, why would you sit around that long like in a dmv waiting line. Game, yes. Draft especially this one no.
  10. GB, my Brit friend, there’s a Walmart near everyone everywhere. I even went to China to adopt my daughter in 2004, and not in a huge city, and there was a Walmart and McD’s there. The funny part is they had a station where they were chopping off heads of chicken and fish in two different stations. my buddy said, They don’t have those stations at my Walmart. Dude forget about it and have a quarter pounder. true story I swear.
  11. 1 tech DT DE OR OLB and convert him to DE CB Big Nickel S TE Thats all. I see those as areas of interest, but if you’re just a need guy, you get a bunch of average to maybe above avg. guys. When you make a board and you at least have these categories, you try and meet with need and BPA. It’s foolish that good teams only go BPA, but just as much they have an idea if what needs to be filled. Maybe we really want a DE as a top priority, but the better player overall that’s sitting there is a CB, you take the CB. I used to have speed RB on my list, but with the addition of Breida for speed, I see the above categories as more important. Where we pick, I don’t see a quality TE available so he goes down my list. I also have high hopes for Hollister. Not that he’s the next Gesecki or Waller and certainly not Kelce or Kittle, but he he catches 10% better than Knox at this point. Besides, we are mostly a WR driven offense. The additions of Breida and Hollister should provide some other options though from last year. It’s not like we were bad ranked 2nd in the NFL. There should be in the first three rounds quality at CB, A behemoth DT, and maybe a large S or an undersized very fast LB who can fit the Big Nickel role. I don’t see even moving up much getting a DE. I’m hopeful Obada takes another step forward. I also understand why Beane didn’t probably counter for Ngakoue as he needs $ for Allen and Edmunds.
  12. Richard, somewhat as his role as I mentioned before is to play over the Center. Last year when you look at the tape Guards were getting to the second level often enough and Edmunds had trouble handling them. In 2019 Star would consistently eat up a C and G which allowed Edmunds to play more freely and was focused a great deal more on covering RB, TE, and underneath WR’s. It’s one of the reasons he made it to the PB. Listen or call into Sal this morning on WGR as he usually has a spot around the 7 am hour. EST. He’s mentioned quite often how metrics for a 1 tech DT are difficult to quantify as they play different roles than say a 3 tech DT like Oliver or Jordan Phillips. Star often takes on the double team allowing the other tackle to get to the QB for at least a hurry or pressure. If I was sitting with you, we could review tape and show you what I mean. The regular broadcast on TV doesn’t show everything. A lot of the same comments used to be said about Ted Washington, but they were playing a 3-4 in the late 90’s. Again, I’m not saying he’s the second coming of anyone. What I am stating is McD’s defense adapted from the late Jimmy Johnson as that is who he learned under in Philly predicates having one large immovable DT and whether they play a 3-4 the DE, or OLB, and in the 4-3, the other DT and DE. can take on one guy vs. two. He serves adequately that purpose and we had no one else to fill that role on last years roster once Star opted out. I am glad he did so with his congenital heart condition. I thought he made the right choice fir his family.
  13. Well, if they don’t trade Jimmy G. to NE which is a real possibility,(Think about the big WR’s and TE’s they picked up to make Jimmy’s job easier and BB trusts him) the. I would say Lance. He gets a red shirt year and has a high ceiling. If they don’t trade draft day Jimmy G., then my guess is Fields.
  14. Rich, first you’re response is very thoughtful as well. The hard part for a 1 tech DT, is they are underappreciated who can eat up two guys so they don’t have some great stats. He’s not Aaron Donald, nor are you or Thurm insinuating that point. I’m not saying he’s the same guy, but Big Old Teddy Washington and Star avg. 2 sacks a year for their tenure. The key if it helps is in the All 22. When you watch closely when he was in games, he freed up Edmunds to do what he did best which is fly all over the field. Oliver realized halfway through his first season he had more breathing room to penetrate as well as Jordan Phillips. Phillips did nothing when he didn’t have that guy next to him in AZ. You’re not alone bud in people thought he did nothing in 2019, but look at the front four the next year. He’s not Reggie White ( I know a DE), but he fits what McD wants out of that position. If we do draft a DT this year which is possible given the cap hit will be pretty much gone after 2021, expect a big space eating behemoth DT of one is there to carry on Star’s role. I don’t think he is the second coming or anything, but McD’s defense depends on a selfless monster in the middle acting somewhat of that old 3-4 NT. That’s Star. If, and a big if so I’m not the Great Carnac the Magnificent (sorry, love throwing in the old Johnny Carson reference). He should make Edmunds and Oliver, maybe Butler look better this year. He’ll be invisible to us, but when you watch the 22, just look at how he manages the Center and a Guard. He also makes it a little harder for opposing RB’s to get a cut back seam to bust one up the middle. Maybe not perfect, but a little harder. I do hope we find a young guy who is big enough, strong enough, and balanced enough to take on this role. As always Noggin, good question, and you’re right, Thurm knows his stuff. Last disclaimer is just this is my humble opinion, but I have played and coached football. When I was a LB 100 years ago, I was lucky to have at a lower level a buddy of mine who never received any glory, but he made my job so much easier nailing RB’s. He clogged up the middle and the RB would have to take one more step making my job that much easier to hammer him. Thanks as always Thurm. For the youngins. CARNAC THE MAGNIFICENT! Sim sala Bim.
  15. Ethan, I already said I’m not getting into next year as the values go down by a round and my head would explode.. that’s why it’s so hard to d9 this stuff as you can make valuations this round, but a first becomes a second next year and then where are we? It’s like finding Waldo. You’re not wrong bud. no one on this board can do that, not even you, and I respect you pal. It’s like trying to so,ve three rubrics cubes at the sa,e time if you’re old enough for that stuff. My point was not trade up or down reasonably, but stop the ridiculous things that makes absolutely no sense. You agave always been a reasonable guy. That was my point. Some posts are similar to a couple of years ago we are there for Rodgers, or 10 years ago for Favre. I hope that makes sense Ethan.
  16. PT101, not 1st of course, but maybe somewhere mid round we might consider a big nickel guy, meaning an undersized, but fast sideline to sideline LB playing as big nickel against a heavy running team, and TE team like Baltimore. We might also want a bigger Safety again mid rounds who can perform the same tasks. I still see the team looking at Edge, CB, Big 1 tech DT, then maybe Big Nickel Safety, and TE. Not in that order as they need to look at the board matching need. I was hit on RB until the Breida steal. He might fit the speed RB thing. I chose five positions making sense however it happens and throughout whether we use capital or stay where we are, or move down, id love some of these places looked at and considered in the draft. If they are not difference makers, or gems in the rough, then BPA and forget about it.
  17. The MTC guys had him go in the mid 20’s Friday. He has speed and strength and I liked from the video his long arms. If we don’t trade up in the 20’s I don’t see us getting any quality difference making Edge Rusher and we don’t have the capital to get higher than the 20’s.
  18. Ok, so here’s some common sense that should answer it’s not even possible. Heres the Bills draft and their trade value chart. Buffalo Bills 30th - 620 pts. 61st - 292 pts. 93rd - 128 pts. 134th - Traded to MN for Diggs 161st - 25.4 pts. 174th - 20.2 pts. 213th - 4.6 pts. 236th - 1 pt. 257th - Traded to Cleveland - I think that was a swap regarding Teller A total of 1091.2 pts for our entire draft. Atl. - 4th - 1800 pts. Cincy - 5th - 1700 pts. Miami - 6th - 1600 pts. So we could give away all 7 picks and never get close to this position to get Pitts, or anyone else that high. We could give away our entire draft to get to 14th which is MN. at 1100 pts., or almost the entire draft to 15th with the Pats at 1050 pts. meaning we could maybe keep 161st and 174th. Now can we get back to reality as to what it would take to move up. We could move up to 24th if the Steelers wanted an extra 3rd pick. They need help with so many linemen lost and no running game. Our 1st and 3rd would be 748 pts. and probably what it would take to get to 24th if we thought a valuable Edge Rusher was still there. We could ask for their 6th and 7th. So this is how a GM thinks, so we have to give up our 3rd, and swap 1sts, and get back an extra 6th and 7th. There is more room to move up in the mid rounds if someone is worth it. Anyone can find our draft order, and I used the drafttek chart. Most other charts are relatively similar. If anyone wants to give other examples of what we should do to move up or down for that matter, use the charts available, but the variable lies in does the other team need picks or want to give up picks. I chose Pittsburgh given how many needs and little $. Im sure smarter guys than me regarding the draft like GB or Inigo who post a lot on the draft could give even better examples. The quip, “we should do this or that” without even looking up if it is feasible are unfounded posts. I do really like posts where you do the math and the trades make complete sense.
  19. Forget he’s rolling. As far as Wentz, I love it. Indy is a pretty complete team and Wentz just made them weaker.
  20. Aaron Schoebel Pat Williams Nate Clements Antoine Winfield Kyle Williams in his prime Big Old Teddy Washington Eric Moulds Takeo Spikes in his prime And so on, and so on. There are so many, but they were the minority on bad teams. We’re good, but thanks for a little fun on a Saturday.
  21. May the Frak be with you! I thought for a second, man I’m in trouble. I got an SDS/Simon reply. Thanks bud. Having fun before this draft. It’s getting silly around here.
  22. I think Ronny Lott has it. Oh that’s right, he cut his off.
