  1. Solly I know you mean well, but we don’t know the records, we don’t know how we’ll perform, we don’t know how these college kids will perform, and so on and so on. This thing isn’t even worth a passing look. Talk to everyone on this after free agency next year.
  2. GB, I know and always appreciate you’re take. I think we’ve looked fir a good RT for a long time and last year Williams did well. People keep going back to 5e Chiefs game as if that is the only game they played, but Williams was so impressive on his own completely nullifying anything from TJ Watt in the Steelers game without TENor RB help. Around the NFL most consider TJ Watt an elite rusher. If Williams knee starts to give him trouble again in a year, then sure we have depth.
  3. I’m betting it’s Dawkins, Ford, Morse, Feliciano, D. Williams. Ford is a natural LG and always throughout his youth shined in this spot. It was foolish, but out of necessity to put him at RT. I know there is a buzz after we drafted two tackles and a guard this past weekend, but they are more fir depth and possibly the future. Ill predict Ford will have a good comeback season this year post injury.
  4. I gave them an A-, but vacillated over possibly an A. Either is really fine for me. I don’t mind on missed picks like Peterman as he was a late round pick and Milano was a steal in retrospect, but then again so was Diggs for MN as a 5th round pick. The Zay Jones pick was smart at the time as he was the leading receptions guy in college, but he just never developed at all in the pros. In the second round, you’d expect a WR to make a better impact. Tre and Dion have been great which is one of the reasons I was a little surprised we took two OT’s this year. I was not at all surprised at one, but D. Williams and Dawkins are under contract for another three years. Maybe in two years Beane is thinking he can get out of the Williams contract. Im glad OP you put some thought into this thread as four years later is a fair time to assess a draft, not the crap that was put out over the weekend about this draft. I don’t even know why people read those fluff articles. They mean nothing. It is even fair to assess the 2018 draft as there is enough evidence now on the players. I don’t think it’s long enough to assess 2019 and 20 yet. Look how much Allen evolved from year 1, to 2, to 3.
  5. First, he still has a ***** to make a team with Washington. Second, outside of WNY not a lot of people even know who he is in the country. He’s undersized and not fast. I enjoyed watching him when he was on down here, but that was rare. I expected a team would take a flier on him and one did so now just beat out others. Lastly, could he really play effectively special teams as a fourth of fifth running back is expected to help there as well.
  6. I agree with you and Hondo. He’s been a solid player for us, but we’d run out of wall space if we put guys like him up there. You’d have to add Eric Wood, Kyle Williams, Fred Jackson, and so on and so on. Ask yourself this question, is he ever even close to being considered for the yellow jacket? No. You have to be one hair away from HOF to even close to be considered for the Wall. It’s either equivalent or just one small step below Canton. I don’t mind a guy like Tasker up there as he was transformational as a ST guy that isn’t a kicker, punter, and he still might someday get in the HOF. He’s been nominated enough times.
  7. Hasn’t Beane proven in the last couple of years he’s had three solid team friendly contracts. Milano, D. Williams, and Feliciano. Each could’ve gone to a crap team for more $. Addison, Butler, and Morse took pay cuts. some act like it’s you’re wallet. He knows what he’s doing. Edmunds we hope will be healthy this year and have the complete line with him so we’ll see what he does. It doesn’t mean they can’t cut him later.
  8. WHAT? CAN YOU SPEAK UP? Sorry, just funny. Shocked they picked up both. in other news the world is round. Was this really a surprise to anyone? maybe we should get Reggie Ragland to fill in, or insert every other crap LB we’ve had foe two decades. He’s not Dick Butkas, but he’s not again insert stupid LB’s we’ve had since the 90’s.
  9. FWIW, they just revealed in the last episode the mom of hondo told her son, when he was young he was so independent he would say to mama (his word not mine in the episode) Hon do it. Eventually his father started calling him Hondo. Loved the old show although before my time so saw the reruns of you grew up in Buffalo on Ch. 29 like Star Trek, the Brady Bunch and Gilligans Island. The new one is cool and thanks for sharing brother. As far as Campbell, he’s make D. Henry look weak compared to his power and explosiveness back in the day. A man amongst boys.
  10. 295.90. DSM 5 F20.9 ICD 10 Dx for Schizophrenia. have a good one.
  11. All good Hondo. (BTW love the new SWAT so I always think of you). I’m more of the Earl Campbell, Walter Payton dream just pounding people, but then again not 1978.
  12. I say we just go 5 wide 100% of the time. Zero running game except Josh, or declare Spencer and have him pummel people. im kidding. It will get handled.
  13. Ok this is almost as bad as the Peter Pan video we keep seeing over the years. no flaming op. I just don’t care. 3 and 4 years ago, ok. This one doesn’t matter. We won’t even know on defense until Addison and Hughes retire. We won’t know on offense until what we decide in three years on our tackles. This draft really is an unknown.
  14. GB, the wildcard is if Reich rehabs Wentz as the Colts have a solid team. Ill table judgement until we see what he looks like. He’s been good and he’s been horribly bad. I don’t rule that team out until what we see for 6-7 games.
  15. As Adrienne from the Burgh says (he’s a regular on MTC and kind of annoying) I’m not worried about the Hash Browns yet. Like every FA and draft it’s about hope and when you’re close to the leader you should expect other teams trying to close the gap. More pundits than not now think we are the closest to the Chiefs in the AFC. One thing was for sure this weekend, Beane pivoted his philosophy somewhat in that we used to have need meet BPA. Now he really showed BPA. This team now likes t bet on themselves in development and FWIW, I think they did it. They bolstered a D Line for the future an LD a little now. Addison and Hughes probably won’t be here in a year. They bolstered their O Line with 5 guys. Those guys will add a lot of depth. not sure on the other three but should be fun. I think beane is just getting started in the UDFA market. Should be fun in the other thread what he does moving forward. Go Bills! 20-0 baby. Still trying to get used to that 17th game.
  16. I didn’t, but read on his praise of developing Epenesa last year. He also said in the past the praises of J. Phillips and Shaq, and let them walk. Beane also spoke highly at different times on J.Brown. Im not saying he’s definitely gone. I’m saying from a previous poster there is a cap savings from cutting him and of the two, they would keep Hughes first. They may keep both E-Man. It really depends in camp how the rookies look and how Star looks. They certainly aren’t keeping everyone. I appreciate the comment bud.
  17. They’d save around $3.5 mil. for Addison and $ $6.35 mil. For Hughes. They’ll keep at least one of them, probably Hughes. The guys at the bottom of the roster are at risk. Zimmer Love Cox Johnson Im not saying they are gone, but they are all fighting for their jobs this summer. They might keep Addison, but if you had to cut a veteran, he’s most at risk. I’d bet dollars to donuts they keep Hughes no matter what as he has been a stapl here and a very solid all around player. It’s more than just sacks.
  18. Inigo, thanks for the courage to write this thread. Although I completely agree Allen trumps Mayfield all day long, it’s silly to not see what the Browns have done this off season. I’m not sure even with all of the line talent the Chiefs bought will help as they have to gel. im not force ranking, but the teams to watch IMO in the AFC this year are the following: Chiefs Bills Browns Colts Ravens Chargers (simply because I think Herbert is going to be special at some point) I want to say the Dolphins, but until Tua figures it out, they may have a very talented team now, but Tua has to do his growing pains like Allen before I’ll believe in him. Ill still make my conservative prediction for us at 12-5 (don’t forget that 17th game, amd yes it’s weird to say that one). I think we’ll finish better than this guess. But then again last year I predicted 11-5 throughout the off season and was very, very pleasantly surprised with 13-3.
  19. In today’s NFL, they don’t have to be a great blocker. Coaching when younger thought, that’s stupid, but I’ve come around to it. Kirwan from MTC has stated so many times meaning, splitting the TE out wide, blocking becomes obsolete. They spread out a defense, and his two examples were Shannon Sharp and Tony Gonzales. He has stated more times than I can count those guys not necessarily were bad blockers, but because if their athleticism and pass catching skills would line up outside thus forcing the defense to spread out and were a nightmare for opposing Safeties and LB’s. If this kid can catch like his highlight real and has a little speed to him, I’d love some TE camp bodies to see who can make it. One last thing., MAJ, thanks for trying to consolidate an UDFA file as I’d love to just keep coming back to it, and have one receptacle for these new additions. Very cool.
  20. Corta, you’re asking for this abuse. I told you to use the old Star Trek time warp and get us to 2017, but nooooo. If you really want to do this, why not go back to the post Kelly days as the late 90’s were still somewhat fun in that we had a glimmer of hope with Flutie. I know most love the Kelly days, or for the old coots (Shaw, Chandler, too easy youngins) the 60’s championship years. Why are you obsessed with going game by game of the crap years? It was hard enough watching the first time having you’re heart ripped out year after year.
  21. The only 1T DT you mentioned above is Star. H. Phillips, Oliver, and Butler are 3T. Maybe as a backup Philips. Obviously who was there was not as good according to Beane than the guys we picked. The talent coming out next year will be much more deep so don’t be surprised if this could be our 1st rd. Pick.
  22. The draft is always about in part salary control in premium positions. Who costs the most? Tackles, Edge Rushers, CB, and WR (because of Josh excluding QB). They aren’t converting 6’ 8-9” guys to Guards. Just think about the fundamentals of Tackles. You want tall, long armed guys who can bend and have good hand positioning to keep pushing out, out, out. Guards and Centers are first step guys who are maneuvering in the lower position for creating holes or pushing back the interior guys. These guys are depth once they’re hopefully fully developed after Dawkins and D. Williams contracts are close to up. They may never be starters, but our line this weekend got younger. The defensive guys will see the field faster.
  23. Everything needed to be said has been said so I’ll just add, Addison, I hope you have you’re go bag as you’re gone. Save another $5 mil., and if they really want to take a shot at a vet CB, Sherman could fit this scheme even at his age. He couldn’t be worse than Norman. I’m not in love with the idea of Sherman, but I can see them kicking the tires on him. I don’t know enough about the UDFA’s to comment, but I expect we’ll sign several in the next week.
  24. WE ARE GROOT! Is it just me or does Zoe Saldana remind you of those green girls from Star Trek? As far as the immediate need thing, I wondered once we made it to round 5. I was trying to go along with the two DE’s and then the OT even though we had two under contract for a few years, but this one? I’ll table for now.
