We’ll, when there for work, I know they rave about their pork tenderloin and steak sandwiches as well as their shepherds pie. Honestly, I could care less as my tradition is 12 garlic hot flats with my wife before she gets over me yelling at the tv. The NFL is new to her as I’ve mentioned as she was raised in China, but she’s trying to learn. She just laughs at me, but she always wears now her bills tshirt or tank, amd the licens plate boundary on her car is a Bills one. She does this stuff for me just like I eat her traditional Chinese food (not the stuff in the restaurants is crap, hers is actually relatively healthy and spicy). So a dozen garlic hot flats for us in my Fredex authentic jersey it is as we don’t lose when I wear it. I wore a bills golf shirt last week as we had people over and jinxed it keeping the Fish close. That won’t happen again.

Best End of Season Scenario for Bills
machine gun kelly replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
You do know he played in Cleveland in the cold against the AFCN, and in the NFCE against the Eagles, Giants, and Washington. He’s a 10 year pro. For me best case scenario is the #1 seed as they’ll have byes in week 12 and 19 after the season. -
Does Hyde return this year to the Bills?
machine gun kelly replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
I placed yes, but only contingent on Rapp or Hamlin having a significant injury. Otherwise no. He doesn’t want to be a backup, amd he won’t breakthrough these guys. PFF ranks these guys as a a top Safety tandem. They’re not perfect, but we are fine with youth, and efficient. A big injury and he’s plug and play. -
NFL officiating is broken. How do we fix it?
machine gun kelly replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good one Simon, especially the ECT (shock therapy) but seriously to the OP. There’s nothing we can do about it. They have an incredibly hard job and try to get it right. We’re dealing with human beings at accelerated paces so almost impossible to catch everything. I have a good friend in my industry is a veteran of the. I’ve and has reffed at the SEC and then the NFL for the last 25 years. He does his best to get it right, and he doesn’t care about any player yelling at him either way. He was a DT for the Bucs way over 320 and muscles back in the day. Now he’s normal like most of us and just still athletic. He just mentioned to me at the gym last weekend, he could care less what anyone says to him on the field. He does his best to be impartial. it always goes back to if you’re that miffed on penalties or lack of it, we’re not winning convincingly. -
Excellent as some posters don’t really understand steroids and GH. The problem is these guys when taking illegally are taking 10-15 times what should be administered by an HCP. Even back then, he could’ve found a doctor and be under their supervision with intermittent testing to check levels. Given I had the deadlift national record for my weight class, and among 100 other trophies, I’m most oroud of repeatedly taking the bronze in the US championships. My body pays the price now 20 years later, but I never took a steroid. I was in meets that were open so against drugged up guys and clean meets. In the late 80’s and 90’s, I routine would go into the heavy hitter gyms, and would see guys do great, but their tendons and ligaments blow eventually and then they are done. These guys don’t realize their tendons and ligaments cant keep up with extreme muscle development. The real Problem is prolonged use if these extreme levels of PED’s is a lead to early heart disease, cancer, etc. The sad thing is an expert physician who specializes in this stuff and monitors closely and rejuvenate guys in their 50’s who has lost testosterone production. I do it the old fashioned way, but have some friends take this stuff at low levels, and feel younger. Im sorry for Merrimans eventual demise, but he went too far prior to the trade here.

The only option for the Browns is to keep him on the roster, find a Flacco type guy, don’t ever let Watson on the field ever, try and see if he’ll take an injury settlement. They have much more talent than the Saints, amd hope to get back in a WC race in 2 years.

Season Predictions at the Half-way point
machine gun kelly replied to Ethan in Cleveland's topic in The Stadium Wall
Isn’t that what you said to your prom date? 😇🏈🏋️♀️🦬 All kidding aside Don,I’ve seen a couple of the first posts, amd would add one possible WC in the NFC as I agree with Ethan and Turk for the most part. I’d still go with the Commanders like Turk for the East as they still have the highest powered offense in the NFL. Second, the potential WC people are writing off is the Bucs. They’ve had a solid season with good play from Mayfield even in their losses. Heck, they took the Chiefs to overtime. So for me my vote is…. AFC East-Bills South-Texans North-Ravens West-Chiefs Note, the #1 seed is still in play. Just a lot has to break the Bills the right way. NFC East-Commander South-Falcons North-Lions West-49ers - CMC is back I didn’t list all the WC yet as there is still too much variability now. A lot can change in the next 9 weeks. -
Agreed Turk. Yannick has been tailing off and we already have Von for a situational pass rusher. We’re probably rolling with who we have. The only guess add is bringing back Micah. He adds needed depth if he’s willing to accept that role. I’d think it’s better before his career is completely over. He can help for a half dozen games. Otherwise these other options are pipe dreams. It’s not by accident we brought two DT’s back who know our system. JP admitted to Sal yesterday he didn’t fit the Cowboys strategy and the best play JP ever had was here. Nowhere else. Jefferson is just an emergency option as he didn’t do much last time, but we need bodies and had the space.

sweats, it’s a two edged sword imo, you do what Baldy Stating so we’ll, and lots of YAC, or the old Josh was leading the lead in air yards with that cannon of an arm and not as much yac. It’s doesn’t really matter other than the deep threat leads to more pics, and lower percentage catches, vs. what they are doing now. Either way, he is “SuperAllen”. To the OP, thanks for sharing as I’m not a big X guy, but love Baldy’s breakdown whether a favorable review or not.

That’s my take that we are a better matchup for the CURRENT Bengals than the Ravens. A big “if” is do we get everyone healthy, at least the starters and don’t underestimate a thriving Milano in the lineup. That is NOT an indictment of Williams which is great depth, and after Milano’s contract is up in 2 years, we have our Wil LB. If we end up with 3 losses and the Ravens 4, that’s a good thing. There’s always the outside hope we end up with 2 losses. That would be a miracle facing KC, SF, and Detroit. Detroit concerns me the most. At least the Chiefs and 49 WRs are at home with our 12th man to help.
-
IDK E-Man. Baltimore having another loss makes it even harder in the playoff standings, and the Bengals aren’t even close to the team that beat us in the playoffs. Their defense hasn’t stopped anyone. The Ravens would go to 6-4, and the Bengals still 5-5. With the Steelers at 6-2, they don’t remotely scare me so a better division winner. I don’t care for some of the Bengals players who try and creat us against the world over and over again in the media, but we keep climbing higher for the #1 seed with a Baltimore loss. We beat the Chiefs and we’re only a half game behind them. That to me is the better scenario. It would be nice to finally get the #1 seed as two of the last three years, 13-3 amd can’t get higher than the 2nd seed.

Although I agree a healthy Samuel is direly needed, it hasn’t happened yet and waning in my confidence. If he really has something he’s masking like the turf toe (if the team knows about it they have to report it and McD plays it straight. He’s not BB), then shelf him and use PS guys based on the game. This week, the Colts are vulnerable to the run, so the bigger WR’s would be helpful like Shavers, and more importantly 12 with Kinkaid and Knox. Im sure we can talk about future games later, but maybe if you shut down Samuel now, amd wait him out past the bye, then hope for the best. If he’s still not good, I’m done with that guy. The hard part is the Chiefs, SF, amd the Lions all have formidable run games, amd solid defenses.

Who’s suggesting a trade after the trade deadline? My point was simply we have depth. There’s no need for any trade before yesterday. Sunday proved we needed a solid depth boundary CB.
-
It’s unfortunate, but not having for Indy is negotiated by a 3rd week of Cooper learning the offense and synergy with Josh. Let’s pray he’s ok for KC. If not, we should definitely get him for the stretch after the bye.

Im just getting caught up with this thread, and you’re right on. Benford rates by PFF a top 10 cover CB in the entire league. Douglas is a ball hawk. It’s normal for Elam to be a backup. He did his job when called up. It’s a great thing to have depth. Taron is probably the best Nickel corner in the league. Just because Elam had a solid game, doesn’t mean he’s better than a healthy Benford/Taron/Douglas trio. We have what we need. I appreciate the question, but it’s more of thank god for our depth at certain spots. He’s still on a rookie wage so why not keep him?

IDK, as McD likes the stable idea of RB’s so all will get opportunities, but it’s not like 1980’s football with a bell cow. On the other hand, it’s been enough weeks with a veteran WR who will be thrust into a larger role, so I’m guessing it’s a Cooper coming out party for the Bills.
-
That’s true My Cousin Vinny, so I went to an earlier Jax game where we won, and then the first McD playoff game in 2017. I know we lost, but felt like a win as we had our first playoff appearance in 17 years. I went to a number of Bills, Fish games when younger, and was half and half with wins. It didn’t matter as some ex Buffalonians who are friends would want a boys weekend in South Beach. I was happily married, but those scantily dressed women were still fun to people watch.
-
Have fun. Away games can be fun. I’ve done that in Miami and Jax as it’s convenient living in Tampa. I know you’re kidding so I’ll settle for 35-13 Bills.

Kansas City/Tampa Bay on Monday Night Football
machine gun kelly replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall
Living here in Tampa for the last 30 years (you guys know I still bleed red, white, and royal blue, but between my friends and sons, I’d never root against the Bucs except once ever 4 years) it was frustrating how many missed opportunities Winfield missed that could have been Ints. Also, given the Bucs are 4-5, but except the 49ers this week, so 4-6, the remainder of the schedule is pretty easy. They could end up 10-7 and either a wildcard or possibly the Falcons breakdown. For my sons and my close friends, I’d like to see them get through it. Supposedly Evans is back week 11 or 12. He is the easy button for Mayfield who even in losses has played well. Now that the Bucs have burnt through the dead destruction of Brady, next year they should have cap space. I don’t expect them to go deep in the NFC playoffs, but a turnaround year where they may win a wildcard game. Mayfield is cheap comparatively at $33 mil. for 3 yrs. Vs. the recent avg of the early 50’s. Even with Evans injury he could break the NFL record this year with the most consistent 1000 yards seasons. -
I’m convinced the only reason he wasn’t released yesterday is we don’t have enough bodies, and McD and Brady must not think of Shavers and crew. its sad as I had hoped for Samuel, but now its crazy to think I’d rather have Hollins on the field which isn’t saying much.
-
Barley, you’re posts often are insightful and this one is another. It’s armchair QB to just say stop the run. What McD is doing on offense and defense is great. We’re not perfect, and there will be ups and downs, but there a not lot of teams built like the Ravens. Even with them our strategy will adjust in the playoffs. The two we’ll need that big nickel or dime defense is with KC, and SF.
-
To add to your point, the opponents we face who are very efficient with the run which is primarily Baltimore, SF, amd KC, then what makes sense is a big nickel. There was a guy in camp this summer that played that role (Louis Cine). Cine was a 1st round pick for MN in 22, only played a couple of games, and then went on the Jets PS. We picked him up this year on the PS. His weight is similar to Bernard. If they elevate him three times, he can be in sub packages. i don’t know if Andreeson is fast enough to be brought in on 1st downs, but that’s also a possibility. our real strength as Marino points out is keeping their passing game down.
-
BB, Thanks for this as I knew the philosophy, but some are caught up in 1980’s football. McD’s philosophy falls in line with the 2024 NFL. Announcers who are lazy amd don’t do their hw. Like Marino, think we are getting gashed when in reality a big running day nets 150 yards or our combined 325 yards between passing and running. It’s hard for people like my dad to wrap their arms around this is an intent strategy. I have zero problems with a light box amd ever notice how year in and out we rank at the top at eliminating the big play. It’s much harder to rip off an 84 yard run (other than maybe Henry) than a 40 yard pass with yac. It’s why I’m not stressed out when I see a 11 yard run. They are also killing clock, where we are inadvertently controlling clock. ThNks again BB.

As much as I would love consistency and like Brady, I can’t ever fault a guy for advancing his career. For his sake, good luck. For our sake, make the most out of this year as Brady won’t leave mid year (at least I hope). The Saints will probably use a staff person for interim, as they get a better candidate post season if any team.
