Well said. Inigo, thanks for posting, but I agree with MJS’s point that Elam is a rare talent. He was playing Man Only at UF, as he’s learning to play a blend of zone and a faster NFL. I can see our 4 CB’s being Tre, Dane, Elam, and Benford. I’m omitting Taron as he’s locked into the Nickel spot. what’s interesting is the backup safety jobs. They want guys who have position flexibility, but also potential starters for next year if they don’t do anything for Poyer, or Hyde the year after.

You bring up a good point Corta. Roman caters Lamar now and Harbaugh is going along as they were highly effective in the 12 and 13 personnel with all of those TE’s. The problem is it stunts his development and he’ll never grow as a real QB. His legs start to wear down and he won’t go anywhere. It’s too bad as Lamar if Daboll was his OC, he may have grown over time.

I have nothing against Lamar and agreed. He just has like you stated three years to figure out how to throw effectively outside the hashes. Frazier looks like a god as we defense him by covering up the middle and stopping running lanes. If Lamar wants to be the best, he has to throw those corner outside fades, and toe tap throws on a dime like JA can do with ease. I have nothing against Baltimore and like seeing them win especially more than anyone else in their division. They are a well run and managed team. Lamar is the factor. Can he really develop? Probably not this year as they loaded up on the TE personnel, which means they will go back to his all pro year and throw tons to the middle on these big bodies.

Yeah, and agree. My oldest son who is 23, and a sharp kid in finance that the young girls all about Joe Cool. I guess he has a 20 something following. Lamar will wear out with his legs and be nothing eventually. Herbert, Mahomes, Allen, Joe Cool, and so on will be the stars of the league. they Re the next manning, Brady, Rivers, Big Ben guys. The ones we watch for the next decade and beyond.

One of the most classic lines in football. Given him the business!

Jordan Poyer: a guess @ his new contract.
machine gun kelly replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dawk, I’m glad you said it first as we can’t imagine what the cap is going to over the next poem of years. It’s eye popping. I hate losing Poyer, but I don’t see other teams next year paying him$16+ mil. At 32 at Safety. Bernard was drafted to take over Edmunds next year. Bedford is a surprise depth CB. We have some solid backup safeties and we’ll probably use a high pick next year at Safety. It wouldn’t surprise me. The Guy most likely over the next 2 years are Knox, Davis, and Oliver. -
Corta, first I remember last years posts so thanks for putting together. Indy as such a toss up I don’t agree. They have a more complete team and Ryan is an upgrade over Wentz. Ryan has played on bad ATL teams, but he has produced. With that RB and a solid defense, they will do well. I’m guessing the win the South at 10-7 to 11-6. Youre on point with almost all of the other locks and this might be the year the Chargers steal the Weet from the Chiefs. Look for the Raiders to be better as well. Rico I like you’re list, but for me the Ravens were solid until they were destroyed with injuries. They have a very deep roster and will go far with that 12 personnel formation. When the Bengals did well, the Ravens were banged up, Mayfield was playing through tons of injuries, the Steelers well Ben, yeah. They will have a much tougher time this year. I think the Ravens take the division, and the Bengals a wildcard.

Was that Zach Moss run actually impressive?
machine gun kelly replied to transplantbillsfan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yep, and Taiwan for ST and Gilliam. They like him as they value his versatility. The others are PS or gone. Moss does look better this year another year removed from the ankle injury. Is he the reincarnation of B Sanders, no, but he has power in short yardage. -
Help me understand an OBJ trade
machine gun kelly replied to Behindenemylines's topic in The Stadium Wall
Exactly Chans. I’m in the camp to buy his services earlier rather than later and IR him. He’s a definite upgrade over Crowder once healthy and would probably mean less receptions for McKenzie in late November/December. Having Diggs, Davis and OBJ is a daunting thought. OBJ was impactful for the Rams when healthy. Id rather not wait it out as it increases the chances to outbid us. Besides we have a world class training facility, and our trainers and doctors can assist with his rehab. I’d make that a stipulation in his contract. It also gives him two months in rehab to learn the playbook, and get to know Allen. What Allen likes and not, so he can hit the ground running (no pun intended). -
Jordan Palmer - XFL’s Director of QB Development
machine gun kelly replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He’s a good businessman, and is promoting his services in a variety of endeavors. My old VP of Sales and Marketing who is a great leader told me and others “You’re always moving up or down”. You never stay the same. It was great advice for me years ago on professional development. This has me liking him even more. He saw an opportunity and grabbed it. If he remains in this role and the league lasts a couple of years, he’ll still have time to develop QB’s I. The off season. You know he’s probably getting more selective what apprentices he brings on each year. It worked with JA, but didn’t help with Darnold. It’s what they do with the coaching. -
Primetime thinks he’s too good for the Hall of Fame
machine gun kelly replied to Charles Romes's topic in The Stadium Wall
All kidding aside, don’t you think the Hall has been a little watered down? There are some like Curtis Martin I don’t think deserves to be in as Joes extra point show was about yesterday at least the portion I listened to as the 2022 class. There is no, and I mean NO excuse for Deon’s comments. He’s a neverending blowhard. When he publicly was pissed about not being called Coach in one press coverage was ridiculous. -

As much as I liked Coach Vermeil as a person, he wasn’t worth a yellow jacket. I can see Shanahan though as he was a winner. There are others that to me are ahead of Vermiel. -

My rotten Chester friend, if you believe that, you could say the same about Bruuuce, as he absconded the idea of Boselli being placed in the HOF. I agree with Deon it has been watered down, but to publically say it is too much. I don’t think Bruce should’ve said what he did on insta either. Show some class. BTW, you know I’m just kidding with you. I almost always like you’re posts. -
How many trades does Beane make the next 3 weeks?
machine gun kelly replied to Pete's topic in The Stadium Wall
He will my fellow Tampan originally and always at heart Buffalonian. I think we keep maybe 5 CB’s if we know Tre is ready. A couple will potentially be trade bait like McLoud and Lewis. I like them, but Bedford and Elam are locks. Backup safeties is an interesting battle. These next three weeks will be fun. One thing I know, In Beane we trust! -
Giants claim Olaijah Griffin off waivers
machine gun kelly replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know DC. I was just kidding. It will be harder agree to stash guys on the PS. It will guide some of their decisions as they pair down to 53. -
Our roster is so deep now, it makes complete sense to use two 6th RD picks in the last two years for a fantastic kicker and now a GOD at Punter. It definitely adds so much to flipping the field when we do have to punt. It’s a great day when we never see Ariaza, like the Cheats game. When we do need him, he’ll deliver. I don’t expect him to punt every time over 80 yards, but it’s good to know he can do what 31 other punters have never demonstrated in regular games. The most I’ve seen in the past is in the 60’s.

Thoughts about starters during the rest of preseason
machine gun kelly replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Although I voted no, I would be fine with one series in game 3, but that’s it. Figure out this week who is our depth. -
Hodgins in the beginning of the year, and maybe Shakir if he produces in the next two preseason games, and I think they are serious about considering OBJ. If Shakir works out, they may cut Crowder. I trust these guys so they’ll make the right call.

Giants claim Olaijah Griffin off waivers
machine gun kelly replied to HOUSE's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t be afraid. That just means we have a talented roster. I was laughing thinking the same on the water slide. Hey if it helps Dabs, and company rebuild that decrepit team, and win a few more this year, then great. I gave up my hate of the Giants after SB XV when they beat the Cheats twice in the SB. Now I want with their GM and HC to at least get to 7-10. -
EDIT: RIP Len Dawson (was HOF’er Len Dawson in Hospice)
machine gun kelly replied to Rico's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am in the same boat Donuts. Just glad he kept the AFC streak going after Namath shocked world with an AFC 3rd SB win. The 70’s were then dominating the SB showing they were just as good as the NFC with the Steelers, Dolphins, and Raiders. -
OJ Howard disappointing showing vs Indy
machine gun kelly replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
Niagara, consider as I’ve now lived in Tampa longer than growing up in Buffalo, Brady was always going to use Gronk first. He also had Brate, their starting TE since Howard had his Achilles injury. I don’t think he’s a blazer in speed, but should add something to the 12 personnel option. Knox will always be the #1 option. -
OJ Howard disappointing showing vs Indy
machine gun kelly replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
That was the exciting thing to me in Dorsey’s offense. Switching from 10 to 11 to 12 to 21 personnel could make offense even better as Daboll was a bit predictable starting the 21 year, and then started getting more dynamic. We should’ve beat the Steelers. Now we have a pass catching RB, two TEs when needed and our typical three wide sets. That’s not to neglect Motor who hopefully will see some playing time and even Moss for some 3rd and 1s. Im not afraid of using Allen in some running plays, but should be few and far between. -
OJ Howard disappointing showing vs Indy
machine gun kelly replied to wppete's topic in The Stadium Wall
You nailed it NE. If his speed doesn’t start coming out, the notion of 12 personnel is seemingly smaller and smaller. -
Tim Settle looked pretty darn good
machine gun kelly replied to 78thealltimegreat's topic in The Stadium Wall
I could get so colorful, but then I have to apologize to Chandman forever. Befkre 2020 I stated to grab him when Star was doing his idiotic thing. He was the 5th best run stuffing DT according to PFF and he was cheap. He’s going to be great. Between him and Jones, with Oliver next to them, and Avon outside I don’t think people know what we are in for on a positive side. it’s also going to make this secondary look even better if that’s possible.
