  1. Because the veteran leader is a poor football player, who may not even make the team and even if he does, will not be starting. And he doesn't have to. Thats the point. As a leader, it would be great for him to offer it. That's what leaders do.
  2. If it's "just a number" why wouldn't the veteran leader of a team be willing to hand it over to make the new guy feel more welcomed? It's clearly more than just a number... especially to Kelsay.
  3. Fallacy. Confusion of correlation and causation.
  4. Except I didn't make anything up. I stated a fact. If you add all the players studied in every research study, it is less than 1% of NFL players. That's not made up. That's a truth. What you said was made up. You tried to correlate Seau's death and the NFL. There is no proof. None. You also have no proof or reason to conclude that I would ignore any conclusions that are backed up by proof. Feelings hurt? No. Just don't feel like wasting my time with a conversation that leads to animosity.
  5. How dare I ask for proof! Let it be known that you have still not been able to provide any... What significant volume? All of that significant volume put together is less than 1%. You may call it ridiculous if want but that is a fact. I never said I wanted more death. That is a lie. As far as credibility goes, I lost all I had for you when you resorting to name calling.
  6. And THAT is what it's really about. The all mighty DOLLAR.
  7. Insults are not productive. If that's where you want to go with this conversation, then i'll bow out now. Anecdotal evidence implies that there is some evidence that there is a link between two facts or items. There is no link what so ever between Seau's death and his NFL career at this point. None.
  8. What proof do you have that Seau's death was in any way correlated to the NFL? Logical fallacy.
  9. The first question is loaded. That would have to be a discussion taken place in person to accurately convey what I'm attempting to explain.
  10. You are clearly an intelligent poster, so I think the problem may be that we have different definitions of the phrase "good football player". When you study film, the prevailing question is "Would he be a good football player for our team?" and the definition of "good football player" is a player who will win a starting position and sustain it for many years, not by lack of competition but by being clearly better and harder working than the competition which results in that player being an integral part of why our football team wins football games. And Chris Kelsay does not match that definition.
  11. Metaphorically, sure. Watch some tape from the 70's. You may not recognize what you're watching.
  12. 1 -- I'm basing my claim off the fact that I have read every research study that I could find on the matter and all of them put together wouldn't equal more than 1% of total NFL players. 2 -- I was simply answering your question. 3 -- I've already read them. I would want them listed, so as to show them their own evidence and why it doesn't support their claims. Saying I wouldn't understand them is insulting.
  13. Well, I don't believe any of them would say that in full honesty. They may say it the way that all coaches give politically correct answers to questions, but I don't believe Kelsay would be a starting anything on a Rex Ryan or Bill Belichick team. In fact, I know he wouldn't. He may not even be a starting DE on our Wannstedt defense. To answer your question, if any one of those three told me in full discourse that they believed Kelsay was a good football player I would have to go back and question my ability all together. I believe that Belichick has LOVED the fact that Kelsay has been a starting player on the Bills for years. He has taken advantage of Kelsay time and again.
  14. Just answering your questions: 1 -- No, I don't think there are. 2 -- Yes I do. 3 -- A gladiator sport as it was intended.
  15. My father was a BLESTO Scout for many years. I can't tell you how many thousands of hours of film we have gone through together.
  16. The Mustang's main demographic is Men 30-55. Watch the commercials.
  17. Who are the professional players, and do they still play? I don't think the Nix link is evident at all. Kelsay was re-signed by Nix because when Nix took over he knew he needed to retain some form of continuity while he slashed the team up. Kelsay was the perfect person for that job and he did admirably. There is no doubt that Kelsay is well liked, nice guy who is a good guy to have in a locker room. But he is not a good football player, and I really don't care who tries to tell me that he is. I've evaluated talent for many years, and I am confident in my abilities. Kelsay is routinely swallowed up by athletic tackles and guards who can get to the next level. He bites on pump fakes and reverses worse than any DE that I can remember in the last decade of Buffalo Bills football. When dropping into a zone coverage, he consistently lets TE's get behind and to his right shoulder. At this position, he has no chance to rebound. He's too slow for an OLB and too flat footed for a DE. Not to mention that the majority of his tackles are 4-5 yards downfield - a very, very small percentage of his tackles are at the LOS or behind. I wouldn't be surprised if Kelsay doesn't make it through Training Camp this year.
  18. The purchaser of the number always pays for the unsold jerseys. Mario would pay for that. Common knowledge. Kelsay is not a respected football player. He may be a respected human being, but he isn't very good at the NFL level. He routinely is caught off guard, gets bogged down by offensive lineman, bites on pump fakes...etc. I wouldn't be surprised if he was cut. And there is no rule that you dont have to give up your number because you have been in the league longer than someone else. Thats just silly.
  19. List all of them. Every single research and study. I guarantee the total does not come to even 1% of the total players to ever play in the NFL.
  20. Of course they can. The team owns the jersey, the number, and the players services. They can do whatever they want. It's not HIS number. The team has simply stated that they are not willing to take it from him and give it to another player. A veteran player like Kelsay should be willing to give up "his" number as a simple act of welcoming Mario to the team, if nothing else.
  21. Ditto, but for you. I have no idea what you are watching if you think Kelsay is a solid player. He consistently gets caught at the point of attack and enveloped by a tackle or pulling guard. He bites on play fakes and reverses worse than a girl giving her first BJ. He still, after 10 years in the NFL, has not figured out how to cover a zone without letting a LB get behind him and his play recognition skills are mediocre at best. Sorry Chris. Momma Kelsay will take care of you.
