Andrew Luck. He might be the next Peyton Manning.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------- O.K. The biggest reason is we only have ONE linebacker on our roster, (Nick Barnett).. None of the others I would consider NFL linebackers. The rest of them stink. I think Sheppard is a blown pick as well. We NEED linebackers desperately. We need to draft more than one or two. If we can add Burfict in the 7th that would be another body that would come in and compete. At one time Burfict was talented enough to have scouts rate him draft-able. If he can stay off the "weed" and get his act together, maybe he will go back to being a decent football player. With only one linebacker that is starting material we need to bring in bodies.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. Dustin Pedroi 2. Tatoo (Da plane, Da plane) 3. Mickey Rooney 4. Weeman (the midget from the "Jackass" Movies That's all I can think of. That's my short list.

Yeah but that isn't even the best part. The best part is then maybe the Bills would get rid of Kelsay. He's an overpaid useless slug. I'd be happy if they dump him even if we don't get Osi.

I would take a chance on Vontaze Burfict with our last pick in the 7th round. I believe we have two 7th round picks. I would gamble and use the last one on Burfict. You might get lucky and catch lightning in a bottle. If not you only gave up a late 7th rounder. I think it would be worth the gamble. What do you all think?

Bills Trade for Veteran WR with #10?
HornyToad replied to WickedGame's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
=============================================================== Yep, I don't want Bowe. I was willing to KC our 1st for their 1st this year. (KC would move up). But in return they would give us their 1st, 2nd, and 3rd next year. That would be a great deal for Buffalo. Let them move up this year and we would have two picks in the first three rounds next year. Man would that be sweet? We need another draft to be a true contender anyway. Let's face the facts, New England will still be the class of the AFC east in 2012. We aren't going to overtake them in one off season. They went to the superbowl and were one dropped pass away from winning it. Mario's signing has Bills fans pumped up and dreaming a bit. A non playoff team over taking a super bowl team in one off season is asking a bit too much. Yes, the Bills we be improved and more exciting, but I can't put them ahead of the Pats just yet. -

NO problem, we dump Kelsay and Merriman to free up the money to pay Osi. Then you still can sign Levitre, Byrd and Wood. Just dump some of the useless garbage to free up money to keep the good guys. You have to use your imagination and figure ways to free up money.

Bills Trade for Veteran WR with #10?

How about our 1st for Bowe and KC's 1st this year, and their 1st and 2nd next year. I would go for that, what do you think? LOL -

==================================================================================================================================== Yeah but I heard they wanted our 7th round pick for Luck. I would never give up a 7th round pick for Andrew Luck. We might get a superstar in the 7th round and Luck may end up being a bust. You never know for sure. They can have Luck and I would keep my 7th round pick, that's where you get your future pro bowlers, the 7th round. -

========================================================================================================== Although nothing is guaranteed, the chances of getting a pro bowl player are a lot higher if the guy is a blue chip draft choice like (Kalil). Like I said, it's not guaranteed, but a guy like Kalil is a safer bet to be a pro bowler than Rief, Cordy Glenn, Mike Adams, or Jonathan Martin who are in the second tier of offensive linemen. That's a fact confirmed by the study Nix and Bills did about franchise left tackles. -
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Let me ask you this, do we need Merriman and Kelsay? Who would you rather have if given the choice. I'm not arguing with you, just would like your honest opinion. To tell you the truth if we don't get Umenyiora I would still like to dump Kelsay/Merriman and pick up a young Defensive lineman in the draft. Osi is still under contract for one more year. I don't think he will get a big contract after that because of his age. He would have to have a monster year, like over 12 sacks for someone to give him big money. You could always let him go if he's not reasonable.
-
==================================================================================== Yeah but I don't know if we dump Keslay or Merriman if that frees up the cap space to fit Osi in. I would take him over those two useless slugs any day of the week. Merriman hasn't played in forever and I doubt he will ever be a force again. Kelsay is a below average player who is way over paid.
-
How would Osi Umenyiora look on the new Bills defensive line? WOW! Do you think maybe he can bring some of the Giants pass rushing philosophy to Buffalo? Is there anyway the Bills could fit him under the cap if they dump either Kelsay or Merriman, or BOTH! Umenyiora would be a lot more productive than either Kelsay or Merriman. Merriman is done. He'll never return to what he was in San Diego. That Achilles injury robbed him of his career. Kelsay flat out stinks and is over paid. How does the cap work if you release a player or trade him? Does that player's salary come off the cap amount for your team?

NFLN is reporting Claibourne to Vikings
HornyToad replied to Toshiero's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
============================================================================================= NEVER HAPPEN He may fall but not that much. If the Vikings don't take him he would still get drafted before pick 10. He's too good to fall all the way to 10. -
Buddy Nix addressed the rumors about the Bills wanting to move up for Kalil. That is very unlikely. He said they would probably move down, not up, if they move at all. That rumor was probably put out by the Vikings to try and get people to start bidding on their 3rd selection. The way it sounds Buffalo will keep the 10th selection.

HornyToad replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would love to trade up Kalil as long as the price wasn't too steep. We have too many needs to give away the farm to get him. The most I would give up would be a number 2 and nothing more. That price is steep enough. I would rather give up a 3rd rounder and McKelvin. The Vikes need DBs maybe they would be dumb enough to bite. LOL I know, McKelvin, probably not but I can dream can't I? LOL -
Trading up for Kalil & Blackmon
HornyToad replied to aussiebills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
============================================================================================= Come on, do you really believe anything Buddy says or does is going to influence another GM's pick? The other GMs are just as smart as, or smarter than Buddy. They don't care what Buffalo does. They have the players on their boards rated and they don't even pay attention to what Buffalo will do. If they are picking ahead of Buffalo they have players targeted and will draft accordingly. There is no "Texas Hold Em" involved. If I am picking ahead of a team I wouldn't even care what they are doing, I get to go first and take the player I want. The only ones the GMs are bluffing is the fans that are trying to speculate which team is going to draft whom. They can fool the draftniks and fans but they can't fool the other team's GMs and scouts. -
Do we really need to trade down for Kalil?
HornyToad replied to buffalo_bills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
----------------------------------------------------------------------------- It would be great if Kalil fell to 10 but I don't think it is likely. Franchise left tackles are hard to find. If Kalil falls past the Vikings I doubt he would fall all the way to pick 10. Someone ahead of us would probably change their draft plans and take Kalil. I don't think he would fall past the 5th or 6th pick. I think if he falls past the Vikes you have to get on the phones and see if a team is willing to let you move up without giving up the farm. If you can't find a reasonable trade up, you move on an prepare to pick someone else. Sometimes you just can't get the player you need most. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I have a feeling St. Louis would take Kalil if the Vikings don't. The Cards could take Kalil and draft a receiver later on. There is a lot of depth at wideout this year but a big drop off at offensive tackle. I think there would be a better chance of Blackmon falling to the Bills than Kalil. Receivers are a dime a dozen, franchise tackles don't come along very often. -

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yes indeed we need a talented wide receiver to stretch the field. The problem is we "NEED" a whole lot of help. Realistically speaking, the Bills were a NON playoff team with a ton of weaknesses. There is NO WAY we can fill all of the needs in one draft. It will take a minimum of this draft and next years to make the Bills a legitimate playoff contender. And that's only if they make both drafts very successful ones. As much as we desperately need a wide out, which I agree, I would build the lines first. We have a good start on the D-line and if we could get a guy like Kalil that would solidify the O-line. That's where I would start, in the trenches. It all starts up front. Build that line so Fitzpatrick has the time to get the ball down field. What good is a guy that can stretch the field if you don't have time to get the ball down field? That's why the Bills run that pop gun offense, get the ball out in 2.5 seconds or less. I feel you build the foundation first, that's both lines, then you add the skill players. -

================================================================================================================= I never said the Vikings would give up the 3rd pick for our 10th and 41st. That was the rumor reported by sports analysts. So you have to ask the sports anlayst who wrote the article to explain it to you. I said the ultimate would be if we could move up to 5 or 6 if Kalil falls. The Vikings could ask for a hundred first rounders if they want, but you know they won't get it. Buddy can make offers and if the other team wants more you walk away. Nothing gained nothing lost, it doesn't hurt to try. That's what he gets paid for, to try and make moves to better the club. They don't pay him to sit back on his fat arse and look pretty. -

Rumor has it the Bills might consider giving up a 2nd round choice to the Vikings to move up and get Kalil. Kilil is the guy Buffalo really needs. But I would hate to give up a 2nd round pick to move up that far. I would be elated if the Vikings passed on Kalil and took Claiborn. Then it would be great if the Bills could make a trade giving up their 3rd round pick to move up to get Kalil at 5 or 6. Kilil would be the best guy for the Bills, but we need that 2nd round pick to fill one of the many holes we have. The ultimate would be if we could give a 3rd rounder to move up to get Kalil. That being said, if it isn't possible to get Kalil, I wish we could trade our first round pick at 10 for both of the Bengals picks in the first round. I think we could get two starters at picks 17 and 21. We need a lot of help so two players in the first round would really help. Either one of those draft day trades would make me very happy. Your thoughts and opinions would be appreciated.
