Yes. If you give up field position on one series, it can affect field position for several series after that. Having a solid special teams unit that consistently gives you good field position is a huge advantage, and to have such a unit, you need a solid ST corps.

If they want Hodgins on the PS, I doubt there'll be a problem with him clearing waivers. He's had zero regular season experience, and there's almost no tape on him, and there's a lot of FA talent out there. Hell, Smoke Brown is walking the streets.
