The Steelers might have the best D-line in the league. That's what strikes me as so strange about this. Moss is better at pass protection than Motor, or Breida. If there's going to be some weekly rotation on RB, then A) that would be weird, and B) excluding Moss this week against the Steelers D-line seems like an odd choice.

But Moss is the best RB in pass pro in the league. This is weird.

I can certainly understand how Patriots* fans would be considered the benchmark for obnoxious fans. All my in-laws are Pats* fans, but it's not just Patriots* football they're interminably obnoxious about. Honestly, I think it just has more to do with being from Boston. Don't get me wrong, I love Boston, I love (most of) my in-laws, and I have blood relatives in Boston, as well. It's a wonderful city, and if you're there, and stop somebody to ask for directions, you'll get a far more involved description than you could imagine, and their life story. But, make no mistake-- the other side of that talkative, and friendly coin is some serious Grade A douche-baggery, that they themselves refer fo as being a "Masshole." So, fear not. There have been other teams that have achieved sustained success in the history of the NFL, that didn't fall into a pattern of being insufferable dickheads. Believe it, or not, there's been a saying in other parts of NFL fandom that states: "The best thing about the Bills, are the fans." I think that will continue, even after a Super Bowl, or two.

Ha! I didn't even look at the date when I posted it. My apologies for that. Be that as it may, I have to assume that you misheard the broadcast. I've been looking all over for some reference to moving away from the D-line rotation, and I haven't found anything to suggest that would be the plan. And, while I haven't found anything specifically mentioning the rotation, I have found some reports that would tend to contradict the concept, like this from Maddy Glab : "Bills general manager Brandon Beane explained the decision to keep 11 defensive linemen on the roster is because of the way they want to rush the quarterback this season. McDermott likes the fact that it's a stacked group, but he's ready to see them do their job." And this from Chris Brown (a couple weeks ago, this time): "The Bills made their pass rush a major priority in the offseason, and it was again reflected in their choices for their 53-man roster. Buffalo kept six defensive ends on their squad, including their top two draft choices in Greg Rousseau and Boogie Basham. They additionally kept free agent signee Efe Obada to go with their 2020 core of Mario Addison, Jerry Hughes and A.J. Epenesa. Buffalo's defensive line carried the most players on the entire roster with 11 total, six defensive ends and five defensive tackles." One would wonder also, if hey were going to back away from their D-line rotation, what does that mean? Do they increase Hughes, and Addison's snap count? They each had around 55% of defensive snaps last season. I would assume their snap count goes down this season. I think if there were plans to dial back the rotation, it's something that would be getting talked about a lot more. -

A mean D-line rotation is a hallmark of the McD/Frazier defense-- and not just who's in or out, but where they play on the field. I've often suspected that this played a role in the high number of fourth-quarter comebacks we've had. By the fourth, opposing O-lines were gassed. I imagine Hughes, and Addison will both be named starters, but I'd be surprised if either played over 50% of snaps, especially Addison. -
Why Your Team Sucks: 2021 Buffalo Bills

Yeah, this was a disappointment. I've always loved this annual series, but this one was a bust. Beyond the exceedingly LOW hanging fruit of Cole Beasley's twitter antics (and, let's be honest-- for anyone who isn't a Bills fan, it's already comedic), there is not a shred of relevance in any of the material. Blithe insult is utterly humorless without am element of truth. The closest he came was to riff on Josh Allen's rural roots, but that all fell flat. It was as if Magary just glanced over Josh's Wikipedia page, and drew on stereotypes. Even the material on Bills' fandom was peppered with cliche. Boring. (I will say, though, I LOLed at the GIF of Josh throwing the ball at KC#57's head.) -
The name Bill Belichick* will forever carry an asterisk, and not a single person who follows football, including you, will have any doubt as to what it represents.

Agree. I will say, though, if I interpreted the situation correctly, I think that McDermott didn't want to start Josh at all. But I suspect, just from reading between the lines, that Josh wanted some game time before the regular season, and made that case to McD. -

And not for nothing, certain players who made the 53, as well as the PS-- Rousseau, Basham, Spencer Brown, Fromm, Doyle, Anderson, Stevenson, Wildgoose, Hamlin, etc developed in those three games. I'll disagree with @Ethan in Portland, and @GunnerBill here: There is no substitute for real game time experience, and the preseason games are the only opportunity for these guys to get it before the regular season starts. And I'll add: I enjoy the hell out of them. -

Yes. If you give up field position on one series, it can affect field position for several series after that. Having a solid special teams unit that consistently gives you good field position is a huge advantage, and to have such a unit, you need a solid ST corps. -
Right. And I'm not afraid of some University of Wyoming quarterback coming into the NFL until one actually gets to a playoff game and maybe wins a something or other...
