  1. With the inclusion of Dr Dre (a founding member of NWA) and Kendrick Lamar, I don't believe there has ever been a halftime show as politically charged as this.
  2. I've always thought (and I'm being completely serious here) that Weird Al Yankovic would be an amazing SB halftime show. There used to be a petition that circulated every season for a few years. One thing that a lot of people don't realize about Weird Al is that, along with being weird, and funny, he's actually an incredibly talented musician. I saw him, with his band, do a polka/rock&roll fusion medley of Prince songs once, and it was jaw-dropping.
  3. For those who haven't heard of Kendrick Lamar, here's one of his more accessible numbers: For those who haven't heard of the other three, I can tell you that there's some really good music outside of the rock you're apparently living under.
  4. This is a great lineup. Snoop, Dre, and Blige are legends. But Kendrick Lamar brings current relevance to this show. And, he is amazing in concert. Bit of a LAMP here: I've worked on somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 music videos with Snoop Dogg (several with Dre, as well), and have turned down a blunt from him not once, not twice, but three times.
  5. Honest question: Why don't you think he's impressive? Because, frankly, I'm impressed.
  6. I was leaning this way, and then I got to thinking: 1) Josh Allen started the season with two mediocre performances. I think he would very much like to have two dominant performances in a row. And even if they don't send out Diggs, or Sanders, or Beasley, Allen can still put up big numbers with Davis, McK, and Kumerow. 2) The D-line, while playing really well last week, didn't get a single sack on Heinecky. They're going to be hungry to lay Mills to the turf. And those pressures will come much easier against the Texans. 3) Fully expecting a lot of second string in the second half. But those guys are going to be hungry to make some splash plays. Think Bills week 17 last season vs. Miami. Bills were accused of "running up the score." But, in the second half, it was second/third string who didn't want to stop playing. The Bills might score a lot of points on Sunday, even if Mitch ends up taking over in the third. (But, I suspect he will take over in the fourth) Mitch Trubisky wants to show himself off, as well. There, I just talked myself into taking the Bills at -16.5.
  7. I'm really struggling with this game on my weekly Pickem Pool. I'm currently ranked third out of 46 in that thing, and I'm only one pick behind #1, and #2. Pressure's on. The current spread is 16.5, and I suspect that is right where it's going to be. I know the Bills could completely stomp them, like they did to Miami. But, I can't get past the notion that they're going to want to keep everyone healthy, play a lot of backups in the second half, and probably want to keep a 2-3 score buffer, and cruise beyond that. But, Houston is not going to stop fighting until the end. I don't think they're going to roll over, and get all mopey like the Dolphins. I could see the Texans covering the spread. Anybody got opinions?
  8. 15 seconds of anticipation, with eight seconds of climax.
  9. Gotta give props to Vernon Butler, as well (who I'm no fan of). He tried to run down Heinicke well beyond the pocket more than once, all the way to the sideline. That's a big fella to be doing all that sprinting! I don't think he ever felt he was going to catch the guy, but recognized that Heinicke on the run could not complete passes the way Josh can.
  10. I was thinking "Tickle Me Watson" would be a good nickname for him if he ever landed in Miami.
  11. I know, I was kinda joking. Driskel isn't even listed on their official roster. I guess the FO has more on their mind than keeping that list updated... Watson "Not Injury Related" ...oof.
  12. I wonder what the inactive list is going to look like this week? I know they are just focused on this game, and "not taking them lightly," etc. But, this might be a week where Boogie gets to see the field? Also, while they're not going to admit to looking ahead to KC, I have to believe they've got an eye on keeping some key players who might currently be a bit dinged-- Poyer, Wallace, e.g.-- healthy.
  13. Imagine having so much money and arrogance that you would not only troll Belichick*, but the entire local fanbase, as well, who might just be trying to enjoy the season. There has been a sort-of debate on here for which fans are worse- Jets fans, or Pats* fans. I'd say this marks one in the Pats* column.
  14. So, you think I should pick the Bills to beat the 17pt. spread?
  15. Are you sure? We still get to play the Jets. Twice!
  16. I'm really struggling with this spread on my weekly pool. I know the whole "humble & hungry" thing. I know they are focused on the Texans, "one game at a time... blah blah..." But still... they gotta be thinking about keeping everyone healthy for the following week. I could easily see, and even expect a lot of backups out there in the second half, including Mitch Trubisky, and a lot of vanilla scheming in the second half. And the Texans are going to be fighting until the end. Does the Bills facing the Chiefs in the following week make it easier for the Texans to cover a 17 point spread? Hm. Turns out Lil Dirty isn't as bad a returner as a bunch of Bills fans have suggested.
  17. Welp... so far my AFCE BOLD predictions are looking like DUDS.
  18. A Carson Wentz Colts offense does not inspire fear. The Colts being 0-3 is not a huge surprise.
  19. Is it me, or does RA look just like Benjimin Solak?
  20. Oooh, Culley's going to get in his head! Well, if there was a week he could be inactive, this would be it... then again... trap game!
