  1. Talking about the Winfield Grill in Rochester on Winton. I went there with my brother a couple years ago when I was visiting Rochester (I live in Los Angeles now, but I still have lots of family there). We used to frequent the place back in the '80s. Still open.
  2. Winfield Grill in Rochester for the original recipe of what would eventually be called "Buffalo Wings." Essentially deep fried wings with equal parts butter, and Tobacco Sauce. They're still there, but have upgraded their recipe, of course. Also, Sal's Birdland in Syracuse. The first place in the country to sell wings as its own meal. You can still buy Sal's Sassy Sauce at Wegmans. Also, my personal fave: Country Sweet Chicken and Ribs. An addiction. First opened in a tiny little store on Monroe Ave. That original place is long gone. They only had a total of three locations in Rochester at their peak. Now, they're down to one location on Mt. Hope Ave. You can still buy Country Sweet Sauce at Wegmans, and "Country Sweet" has become a common flavor at other wing venues throughout WNY.
  3. Check out the NFL's annual growth rate during Goodell's tenure, and you'll have your answer.
  4. I'm going to disagree with this. Had Saffold been specific, it would only have gotten bigger with opposing sides shouting about racism vs "cancel culture." Why would he want to lend his name to that? Why would he invite accusations of "playing the racism/victim card?" It's enough for us casual observers to know this sort of thing still goes on, and move forward from there. And if Saffold didn't see the need to escalate the situation further, I'll trust his judgement.
  5. Thanks, was just about to post this.
  6. I wonder about Moss. In 2020, he was rated as the best RB in pass protection in the NFL. That's not a small thing in the spread offense they were running. I have no idea how he graded in '21 though, and obviously he wasn't used nearly as much. I won't count him out either, and I'll never hang my hat on a rookie RB based on his college tape. Suffice to say there will be some stiff competition for the likely three RB spots on the roster (excluding Taiwan Jones).
  7. I don't know about "miracle worker," but I'd say he's a definite upgrade to Bobby Johnson.
  8. With the loss of Mongo, we really don’t have a backup center, do we? I’m not aware of any of our other IOL FA signings having that position flex. I know Boettger has snapped in practice, but beyond that, it would seem to be a pressing need, no?
  9. I don’t know that Stevenson does have Shakir on speed or quickness. I know there has been this narrative that Stevenson is lightning fast. I just don’t recall ever seeing it.
  10. He wasn’t targeted once in the regular season, only in preseason. He had one long reception vs the Lions in week one of preseason (40+yards I think?) where he got zero YAC. If you watch the replay, you’ll see the Lions defender was with him step for step. It was a great catch, but was there a catch in the preseason where he got to turn on the speed? If there is, I don’t remember it. I’m just not sure what kind of speed you see out of him, other than a 4:45 40 time stat line? (Khalil Shakir had a 4:43, btw)
  11. Hell, they should have McKenzie do it. That guy can do anything.
  12. Do they ever say what the suspected PED was in these stories? Or is there a privacy/HIPAA concern involved?
  13. By selective, I mean that you're omitting some obvious flaws in his performance during the season. To my eyes, Stevenson was hesitant in both returns, and RAC, (but especially returns) which allowed defenders to get leverage on him that essentially negated his speed. I can't remember a single play where he was able to use his speed to break into the open field, and really turn on the burners. If they retained Stevenson to utilize his speed, he didn't deliver. JMO.
  14. The greatest thing ever would be if Randy Constan could announce a future draft pick (in costume, of course).
  15. I think your assessment, and recollection of Stevenson's contributions to the '21 season are a bit selective.
  16. The one-hand grab is impressive. But the footwork to stay in bounds, bending his right leg in, is bananas!
  17. Ideally, the key will be that all three of those teams will be playing from behind.
  18. I think it's worth mentioning the Bills in this thread. Bills going by position (IMO): QG: Push. At an elite level! OL: Push. I'm not willing to call Saffold an upgrade over Williams, and the loss of Mongo means we have a need at backup C. But, Kromer is an upgrade, IMO. RB: Slight upgrade. At the very least, the RB squad is deeper. TE: Clear upgrade. Can't wait to see Knox, and Howard on the field at the same time. WR: Slight upgrade. My bild prediction: Crowder will have a career-high season with Allen throwing him the ball. DL: CLEAR upgrade. LB: Slight downgrade. AJ Klein was legit. DB: Slight upgrade. Cautiously optimistic that White will start the season, and Elam will start as an upgrade over Wallace. Overall? Bills got better.
  19. It's never a good idea to hang one's hat on draft picks going into the season. But, it's hard not to think that the Jets have improved their team enormously over the last few days. They've done a great job this offseason, IMO. The Dolphins did it in FA, and sacrificed their draft in the process. Good for them, I suppose. We'll see if the King's ransom they paid for Hill proves to be worth it. I suspect not. Hill may be the best WR in the league, but with such a lower caliber QB throwing him the ball behind such a crappy O-line, one has to believe his production will fall off, and with it his attitude. It's been a pleasure to watch the Patriots* lose so many key pieces (CB Jackson, G Mason, C Karras, among several others), barely make a move in FA, and then screw up their draft so badly. It's all on paper, of course, but the Pats* might be in trouble. And it's not just a matter of personnel-- they lost their O-line coach, and their long-time OC Josh McDaniels, as well. It's hard to imagine how the cheating, aging GOAT Belichick* might pull this team up.
  20. He hadn't even had a chance to check into his hotel and change out of that suit and they're dragging him to a Sabres game! Just awesome.
  21. Wut...? https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2022/04/30/odell-beckham-jr-reports-deebo-samuel-to-patriots/
  22. McKenzie can play in the slot, but is more of a Swiss army knife gadget guy. We know that Daboll loved him for all those traits. It remains to be seen if Dorsey will utilize these talents, but he is unique on the team. If Shakir shows real potential in the P/KR game, that would go a long way in securing a position on the 53, and I see no reason not to keep all three. Be that as it may, I have to believe that Hodgins has an uphill climb to break into the 53.
  23. I would put Kumerow ahead of Stevenson, especially if he loses the competition at P/KR, which I certainly hope he does.
  24. Carrying seven WRs last season was a luxury that won't likely be repeated this season. And suffice to say there will be some stout competition for those deeper spots. If Shakir shows aptitude at K/PR, we may have seen the last of Stevenson.
