I think McCown in TB has a lot of talent, and should be comfortable under Lovie Smith. I also think Fitz is being a bit underrated by some of the folks on this board, and could end up being more than a stop gap in Houston.I am not sure if it gets worse than Cleveland's but I picked TN because of the inevitable injury that will occur to Locker and what is behind him. IMO, Fitz can get that team to .500. The only other QBs I feel confident about with that for this year, on this list, are the Bills and Jets QBs,

I think the truth probably lies somewhere in the middle. Certainly, there was some frustration on the field. I doubt, from the way things were going, that they wee taken out as a reward. Sometimes, a diversion like this lets people step back and reboot a little bit.So graham thinks that because Marrone is pissed at the team for sloppy play he cancels practice to take them out for fun? I will stick up for him more than most but that sounds stupid.

Certainly a better stop gap than Kolb was for us!I think Fitz will make a good stop gap for them!

The National Congress of American Indians (which sponsored the commercial) was founded in 1944, and represents several hundred tribes throughout the United States including Alaska. One nation out of how many? The numbers aren't backing up your claim... that's like asking one state out of 50 who to be the next President of the United States. PRETTY sure that isn't nearly enough, buddy.

Interesting that you went for two rookie QBs. I have wondered how EJ would have fit in this rookie class? I think most would agree that it was stronger than last year's class, in which most pundits did not place EJ very high.I voted Houston. I like the Bills situation more than any of those teams except Minnesota and Cleveland.
-
Interesting that Fitz seems to be garnering the most votes.
Jax gets my vote. Then Minnesota, and Cleveland. Then, I would have to say us.

"Who Has the Worst QB Situation?"QB is the most important position in NFL (maybe all of team sports) AND it is the weakest on the Bills roster -- that is crazy, especially in a win now mindset --- all eggs are in EJ's basket this year --- Lewis and Tuel are sub standard backups (at this stage in their development) --- one could argue we have the worst QB's in the NFL --- insane ---
Time might prove that EJ is okay or better than average and that Tuel/Lewis are serviceable -- but, right now, based on their short careers, I can't think of a worse QB situation on another FL roster ?
Now, that would be a popular thread! Who has the guts to start that one???

Not sure why you would assume I was a fan of any of the things you mentioned, but I did notice that you conveniently didn't answer the question: What level of negative connotation would "redskin" have to possess before a name change became a question of common decency, and not political correctness?just speaking truth. it is hypocritical to speak about decency when people knock a team name but watch that garbage.
-
It seems like a simple question. What level of negative connotation would "redskin" have to possess before a name change became a question of common decency, and not of political correctness?common decency. LOL
-
Out of curiosity, at what point would the situation be about common decency, instead of political correctness? For example, I would imagine you would agree that if the team name was the Washington N*****rs, you would consider a name change to be simple, common decency. What level of negative connotation would "redskin" have to possess before a name change became a question of common decency, and not political correctness?Better to cave to Political Correctness, which in itself is a oxi-moron, than to stand for tradition. I guess Seneca NY will have to change it's name to.

Apparently...Just stop. People like him don't want to learn.

The person most commonly regarded as the foremost authority on the subject is a linguist named Ives Goddard, who studied the word extensively. He writes that the word was originally intended as a term of respect, but became derogatory in the early 1800s. It was, for a time, used to describe scalps. More to the point, however, is its current, accepted context in which it is generally regarded as a racial epithet. How is Redskin a Slur? Get a life. Exactly how is that progress?? Educate me.
The racial epithet is given further derogatory prowess when considering both the historical context of genocide, and that of the team's location- our nation's capital.

The weirdest thing about this post is that you seem to be the most offended person in this thread.Abraham Lincoln, George Washington and Andrew Jackson are upset by the name Buffalo "Bills". Politically correct madness. You can find people who offended by anything. Who cares. Get a life, a backbone, toughen up. Get over it. America sinks into socialism but the fight is over team names. LOL
Be that as it may, who are you to tell the National Congress of American Indians, and the many other Native American organizations that have come out against this name, with what they should, or shouldn't be offended?

I think any time a seasoned vet gets a camera stuck in their face, they play the "good teammate." But, at the same time, it's OTAs. I don't think he's thinking about his next contract just yet. And, I don't see any reason not to take his enthusiasm as genuine.Spikes is definitely saying the right things as a team member.
I just wonder if he is really all in on the Bills, or is he just auditioning for the rest of the NFL to see how good he is so he can get that big contract with another team?
-
This is less of a "poll," and more of a "troll."
-
The metaphor that has been used over, and over again, "all in," is really quite apt for this situation. What happens when you go all in, and don't win the hand? There is no plan-B at that point. Thad Lewis, while a decent back-up, is not a plan-B. If we can't win with EJ, we aren't going to win with Lewis or Tuel.
Or, am I wrong? Could Lewis break into the next level? Stranger things have happened.

Possibly the most depressing quote in this thread.I honestly think the young man will work out.
However, if he finishes the season with 14 starts, 18 tds, 12 picks and is still completing less than 60% of his passes I'm not sure what you do with him.
What am i hoping for, given 14 starts?
At least 24 tds
less than 14 ints
more than 3,200 yards
completing no less than 60% of his passes
...and please oh please at least 7-7, but preferably 8-6.
EDIT: and hey, look, I love our RBs and I know you have to be able to run the ball in Buffalo, but sooner or later this team has to get into this century and start averaging 225-240 yards a game passing.

I would guess that it cost into seven figures to get that ad aired during the NBA finals. Easily $250,000 just to produce it-- and that's assuming that a large chunk of that footage was stock.if its a problem then people should say with their wallets, as long as the team continues to make money there's no reason to change it. everything is offensive to someone. if the fans decided it was a problem and made enough noise with their wallets i can see it getting changed.

I miss Wegmans...I'd say there's some sort of entertainment value as a fan but generally speaking ill return the same question- why pay attention at all? If the nfl streamed webcams in the workout room would it be productive to analyze every guys form or day by day progress on the treadmill? Would we consider Goodwin injury prone if he stubbed his toe on a weight and didn't finish his last set of reps? It sounds silly but in some ways it's not totally dissimilar.
Broadly I'll say I don't read much of the reports but if someone's really standing out good or bad it's a flag to keep an eye on the story later - Ill occassionally banter about it but try to keep with not making any judgement off June practices in shorts with 40 guys that'll be aspiring to work at wegmans in 3 months and coaches having motivation outside "lets beat the opponent in 3 days."

Please tell me you know I was joking! I keep forgetting to use those emoticon things, which I hate. I never know which one to use, so, here:Feel free to try to make me care! It's the beauty of you having the rights you do!
I'll probably trot out some republicans claiming to be democrats to say you don't represent them and cite that 99.9% of your kind don't really care what I say!
I still think my favorite twist was when the redskins got that random guy to claim he was a tribal leader in Alaska and all his people loved the team.... And really he was like a quarter Native American and a mechanic in Baltimore.
"their"The Logo was designed by native Americans. It nice to see that Obamacare is working great, Bengasi is a myth, the 5 terrorists released gave there lives to Christ, and the southern US border is secure so we can move onto more important things. How about changing there name to the Washington Reds as most Democrats pushing this are really communists.
-
As a whiney liberal know it all, I find your post highly offensive. It's a shame this always devolved into "stupid right wing bigots" against "whiny liberal know it alls."
I get fans like having history and tradition and the team likely thinks it's more profitable. I get that many Native Americans don't care or even like it. I get that there are a lot of people, including native Americans, that do not feel comfortable about it.
Just as Snyder is allowed to name his team, those that don't like the name have the right to pressure him to change it. I happen to think that the courteous thing to do is change the name - I don't think there's a reason to talk about fox news or obamacare here.
-
Then, when the name is actually changed because the Native American community, including the numerous Native American groups that have come out against the name (and spent a considerable amount of money in the process), have applied enough economic, and social pressure, will you then change your mind? Or do they have to get up in your face personally?Probably. But, my point is not to insight anything as I have 100% belief that it would not be of any consequence or matter. No one would likely care or be offended and if anything me screaming this out in the middle of the street would only anger someone who had to go around me or stop texting on their phone to pay attention to the road.
If they wanted to beat my butt, sure they're welcome to. Anyone is. Any time you open your mouth or just exist there will likely always be someone willing to knock you out because they simply can. Giving them an easy excuse just makes it justifiable - at least in their mind.
You see, it is not the stopping me I dare them to do. It is to actually care enough with what I am saying and doing to actually stop me - and I do not simply mean physically.

Well, that article concerns me, as well. Yes, I know it's just OTAs. No, I'm not looking for HoF play. It's the accuracy thing that concerns me. Last week the excuse was that the WRs weren't running their proper routes. This week he's overthrowing wide open receivers? Yes, it gives me pause, even during OTAs.You are getting concerned? Seriously? About OTA's?
Look, I'm looking for him to step up this year but if you don't think he's still going to have some bad throws in practice, you probably shouldn't read any articles from now until opening day.
I honestly don't expect him to look HoF like in practice, all I care is how he looks on Sundays. I hope to see improvement from last year but won't know until I see a couple actual games.
Don't let the microscopic reporting of OTAs in June concern you, would be my advice.
btw- if we can't be concerned by a player's poor performance because it's "just OTAs," then what's the point of getting psyched by other player's stand-out performances during the same OTAs? Why pay attention at all?

Intent is not everything in this case, because intent does not erase history.
