  1. And you accusing me of insulting Bills fans with virtually all my posts is okay? As for the last sentence I removed it and I'm sorry if I offended you, but I just assumed you were part of the rah-rah 0-16 crowd.

Is there an actual "0-16 crowd?" I really thought it was just one guy who, mulling his morning coffee and bong load, had authored an ill-advised thread that now won't seem to die.
  2. I imagine it's very tough, but it has to help that he's been through it before. He knows what to expect, he knows what needs to be done. More importantly he knows that if he does it, his knee will heal and he can play at a high level. Being able to alleviate that doubt has to help the mental aspects of the recovery.

I've had two ACL replacements. One in '99, and one in '09. Painful. But, assuming there isn't any other significant damage, it's around nine months to a year to get back to about 99%. NOT career ending by any means. And, if he stays to his rehab regimen (I'm sure he will), there's no reason to believe he won't be back to form.
  3. To the OP:

I tried to make it through your entire post, I really did. And, my hat's off to all the forum members who took the time to read this twaddle, and thoughtfully reply. But, for me, the stench of smug self-indulgence was too much to take. I was really only able to more, or less skim the wretched thing.

You honestly want to sell the notion that the most enjoyable part of next season should be the bye week? You honestly believe that the best outcome for an organization that is quite possibly on the precipice of being relocated-- possibly several time-zones away-- and is clinging to the depressed economy of Western New York, with wolves at the door, is abject failure?

And let's forget, for the moment, that this is a fan site, and consider the players, themselves. Do you have so little regard for the lives, and careers of the 53 dedicated professionals on our team, that you would wish upon them the ignoble distinction that would come with such an accomplishment? You want them, our team, to be a laughingstock?

And then, at the end of your long, tiresome post, you have the audacity to beseech the fan base of the Buffalo Bills to "open their minds."

    Wow.

  4. Just read this twitter update from Shefter;it looks like it is pretty bad. Not sure how, but they even have a pic of the MRI up

Bills LB Kiko Alonso tore his ACL; worse than expected. More at:http://es.pn/1lLT6LR

Well, ACL replacement surgery is fairly routine. They clean out the remnants of the old one, drill a couple of holes in the upper and lower leg bones, thread in a graft (usually from a cadaver, but sometimes cut from the patellar ligament), and anchor it in the holes. Then, a new ligament grows over the graft, good as new.

The only question then, when talking about how bad the injury is, isn't how badly torn is the ACL, but whether there were any other injuries that occurred at the time of the ACL tear, like meniscus, or MCL damage.

    Nice Peter Pan link, btw.

  5. Not according to Chris Brown. Tuel is in the running for the #2 spot. Says Tuel came back this year noticeably stronger and is making some of the best throws so far.

Well, Chris Brown certainly knows more than me. But, I did read his assessment, and it is just speculation on his part-- unless there is another article, or post I don't know about.

So, perhaps Lewis isn't as safe as EJ. But, I still suspect that he will be the #2.

  6. I disagree with your comment that EJ Manuel has proven to be kind of delicate. The only thing he proved to me is that he needs to know when to get the hell out of bounds.

Three knee injuries in one season may not prove it-- but it certainly raises the possibility.
  7. Fred Jackson is nowhere near Barry Sanders; not on his best day.

I love Fred. But even the Bad News Bears had a "best player on the team." And no way did Fred account for an extra 4-5 wins.

I don't know any Bills fan who doesn't love Fred Jackson. He plays with a lot of heart and has done great things for a few years. But he's not an NFL great, by any means.

I'm putting this on the "Most Underrated" thread as an example of how FJ is underrated.

Fred Jackson. (I took this from the "Most Overrated" thread.)
  9. No Fred Jackson last year and at best, we go 2-14. EJ orchestrated that drive at the end of the Panthers game, but Freddy executed it. Him dropping that pass on purpose was unreal awareness. Plays like that are why he's worth his weight in gold to the fans. He's been the best player on this team for years, so I don't see how he can be overrated.

It seems weird to me that this is even being debated in this thread. This seems more like a discussion that should be in the other "Most Underrated" thread. In fact, if you google "Fred Jackson underrated," you'll get numerous hits going back several years. For example: http://www.rantsports.com/fantasy/2014/06/01/2014-fantasy-football-profile-rb-fred-jackson/ . I chose that one because it is current. He is often referred to in the media as, "the perennially underrated Fred Jackson."

We all know he is about to be aged out. And, we all know his production is going to slide with age, so I don't really see anyone talking about him having another 1,000+ yard season. But, I suspect that at the end of the year, he will have exceeded expectations-- just like he always does.

  10. Couldn't help myself.

I think it would still be OBD considering it didn't exist until the stadium was built.

They will just make a new street with that name.

    Unless they make it TBD!

But, what if they build a new stadium, and call it One Bills Street? Would this forum be changed to TBS? Then, would Turner Broadcasting System try to shut it down for copyright infringement? What if people started posting threads about The Bib Bang Theory? THIS IS A NIGHTMARE!!!
  11. Whereas the title of this thread is, "Most overrated current Bill?," (as opposed to "worst" Bill), and, whereas being overrated does not preclude one from being talented, and whereas it is still June and people's lofty optimism has (as it does every June), risen to the level of delusion, I am going to cast a vote that to some will be considered blasphemy. The most overrated current Bill is Sammy Watkins.

That's right, I said it. Sammy Watkins. Until he faces an NFL defense, he is not a proven commodity.
