  1. wIN now! (er... next season...)
  2. Would we have rather gotten Fox over Rex? Thoughts?
  3. Woke up late this morning on the West Coast, poured myself a cup of coffee, opened my computer, and this!!! Am I the only one who didn't see this coming at all??? I hope the Pegulas give Schwarz a big, fat raise, and tell Ryan to mostly stay out of his way. I suspect that Rex's success here will largely hinge on who we get as OC, and whichever backup QB takes over from EJ way too late in the season. This should make the EJ fans happy, considering how long Rex will stick with a struggling QB.
  4. That's cool. We only have to worry about it every other year.
  5. I found the way the Shanahans handles themselves, and their team, in DC was appalling. Even just the way they treated McNabb, in the short time he was there, was utterly rotten. To me, from the outside, the atmosphere in DC looks absolutely toxic.
  6. I'm finding it easier to take Polian at his word. Once Orton and Marrone walked, his job would have become more complicated, and a "heavy lift," as Polian put it. I'm satisfied with that.
  7. It's an interesting read, but Mehta clearly has an agenda that is only thinly disguised as journalism. Several lines really struck me that Mehta is being far from objective. Not that he needs to be. I would love to be able to take this article at face value, just for its calming value alone, but I can't. A lot has been said about Marrone since his decision to leave, and the more I read, the more I feel a sense of disgust. But, that might just be the frustration of looking forward to yet another year of rebuilding-- and after a 9-7 season, no less. Marrone's departure, regardless of how one feels about his performance, feels like a betrayal. All that being said: If, as this article suggests, Marrone does, indeed, feel the sting of negative press, He's going to hate New York/New Jersey!
  8. I agree. It seems like the issues of FO chaos, poor QB, a hot mess of an offense, and a hostile media are only amplified in New Jersey. I kinda hope he goes there, and brings Hackett with him.
  9. To be honest, I'm starting to sway my feelings about a JS as HC-- especially after what some of defense has been saying about him. And, I think most of us would agree, when the defense was on the field, it was a whole different attitude. Hard to imagine those two units occupying the same locker room. I think, ideally, we would keep him as DC. But, if it came down to losing him to another team, I'd be good with him as HC. Never thought I would say that about him. I'm usually wrong about everything that doesn't include mostly hindsight. I was originally very unhappy with the Schwarz signing last year. In my mind, the Lions, under his leadership, were the dirtiest team in the league.
  10. Mixed feelings about Julius Thomas. It would be nice to have a TE with some YAC ability. But, I hadn't realized his poor blocking ability, per the article. I think that to be a good fit for the Bills, blocking might outweigh YAC-- or at least be a very big consideration.
  11. That site makes me a little prouder to be a Bills fan.
  12. When I look at an Edible Arrangement, I see a basket of food that has been handled way too much. Plus, any food product that needs to qualify itself as "edible" is immediately suspect, imo.
  13. Schwarz has already demonstrated the Peter Principle in Detroit. But, it would be a real shame to lose him as DC.
  14. Until we make a serious play-off run, every coach, assistant coach, and member of the FO, as well as the QB will be slammed by a certain percentage of the fan base. Word.
  15. The Kubler-Ross model, also known as the "five stages of grief":Denial Anger Bargaining Depression Acceptance
  16. So much analysis, debate, and argument on this site. The past few days have been overwhelming. And, not enough humor, sometimes (IMO). Please relate your feelings here regarding the end of the season in limerick form. Kyle Orton and Douglas Marrone One's legs, and one's face were like stone At the end of the season With weird rhyme, and weird reason They both said, "hey, screw it, I'm-a-gone!"
  17. The only people, players or otherwise, that will hold this against him are in Buffalo. That being said, I wonder if he hasn't hurt his career jumping ship so soon? It seems to me that Marrone was developing into a decent NFL HC. At the very least, I would say that he hasn't reached his ceiling. And, others around the league clearly view him as the real deal. But, how easy will a transition to a new team be? With the exception of our O-line, and QB, you can't sat that he didn't have talent to work with, and the results bear that out. I understand the conflict that was occurring, and why he grabbed the option, in its narrow window. But, I still wonder if he wouldn't have had better success next season on Buffalo, than he will in a different town?
  18. Well, if you're going to rekindle your fandom, now's the time to do it. No one's going to accuse you of jumping on a bandwagon.
  19. It's hard to keep up with this site over the last couple days. So, I've just been reading. My thoughts are this: Marrone was developing into a good NFL coach. A lot of the criticism of him, over the last couple seasons, was that he wasn't an NFL coach (nor was Hackett), but a college coach who was out of his league. That sentiment certainly rang true last season-- less so this season. Clearly, among the rest of the NFL, outside of Buffalo, he is now seen as the real deal. I agree. I don't believe he has reached his ceiling as a head coach, and if he had stayed with us, he would be a better coach for us next season as well. I wonder if he hasn't hurt his future by jumping ship so early in his NFL career in search of greener pastures. All that being said, I don't fault him his decision. Certainly, the atmosphere for him had soured, and given this season's success, he obviously has several good opportunities in front of him. But, from my armchair, I am disappointed, both for him, and for us.
  20. Well, given the last several vets this team brought in, I would say a natural progression would lead to... Rex Grossman?
  21. "All in" on EJ, again? I believe we've been down that road, before-- like, this year. Anyone who thinks that the only upgrade our QB situation needed was for Orton to retire has a serious short-term memory problem.
  22. Better to head South to Penfield- A Town of Planned Progress. Next year we should try losing our way into the playoffs?
  23. Duke Williams Lee Smith Jordan Gay
  24. Hasn't Schwarz already demonstrated the Peter Principle?
