Yes and no. Yes, you're stretching to put words into Spikes' mouth. No, I'm not confused about the justice system in the Hernandez case. Neither do I think is Spikes. "IM CONFUSED ABOUT THE JUSTICE SYSTEM THESE DAYS !!!" ≠ "Hernandez got a raw deal for committing murder." To equate the first statement with the second statement is dishonest trolling, and misrepresents a Bills player, to which any fan should take exception.

What have I missed? At what point has Spikes insinuated that "Hernandez got a raw deal for committing Murder?" Seriously, back that up. If you can't, it's a super obnoxious thing to say.

Mark my words: Marquise Grey is going to be solid. Chandler was a reliable target, but he certainly had his weaknesses. His YAC were terrible. A girl scout could tackle that guy. And, IMHO, I don't think he makes the Pats* 53. Could you elaborate on this?

In case you're concerned, the article DOESN'T suggest that we acquire Tebow. Rather, it suggests that at this point in EJ's career, he probably has about the same trade value as Tebow did when he was traded away by the Broncos.

Would we then sit on Cassel/Taylor/Teul, or would we draft a QB? Because if we trade EJ for a fourth, and then draft another project from what's left when our number's up, then what's the point? Do we spend #50 on a QB? (I think that would be crazy!) If we trade EJ for a fourth, and don't replace him with something better in the fourth round, then we've made a bad deal, IMO. I'm not big on EJ, either. But, I have to believe that he would be a much better backup to Cassel than TT, or Teul. And, who knows, he could still win the starting position.

I have to wonder if this whole thread isn't operating on some spurious assumptions. Is there another tweet besides, "I'M CONFUSED ABOUT THE JUSTICE SYSTEM THESE DAYS!!!," that I don't know about that would suggest that he is only talking about the Hernandez case? If this tweet's association to the Hernandez case is based purely on timing, perhaps he was commenting that while Hernandez can be convicted on circumstantial evidence, others get acquitted, or not charged al all, with much stronger evidence, and a badge. Or something along those lines. This thread seems to be talking only about the man, Spikes, and not any issue he might be trying to raise. And, while I do think that the, "I will bet that everyone on here who disagreed with his tweets is white," comment is pretty stupid in the context of this forum, you do have to admit that the issues of race, and the justice system in America are far less important if you're white.

Maybe I'm missing something here. Are you suggesting that Spikes should temper his opinions? Should he not be tweeting? Is there something out of line about having a negative opinion of the current justice system? Are we being "too tolerant" of his views? Or, just too tolerant of him expressing them? And forgive me if I'm not completely dialed in on this issue. To be honest, I don't follow ANYBODY'S twitter. My life is, more or less, Twitter-free. But, did Spikes tweet something other than the tweet you posted, "I'M CONFUSED ABOUT THE JUSTICE SYSTEM THESE DAYS!!!"? And, has Spikes, in any way, asked for sympathy regarding his brother? In all honesty (and I'm being quite serious) I'm not sure if your being overtly neo-conservative, or overtly neo-liberal, because you seem to be parodying both.

Sure it did. The article didn't just explore trade value, but risk vs reward, as well. Trading away Tebow had little risk for the Broncos. That is not the case for us. And, even regarding trade value: If Manuel and Tebow were completely equal QBs, Manuel would still be worth more to us than Tebow was to Denver. How is that not a valid point?

I get that. He was comparing playing for the pats* to being a slave. Hyperbolic? Sure. Offensive? A bit. Stupid? Maybe. But, I'm certainly not going to get worked up about it.

I see a weird irony in your post. Implicit in your "everybody gets a trophy" comment (if I am reading it correctly) is that there is a political correctness that pushes us to be tolerant of "too many people saying and doing too many stupid things in public." But, what are you asking of Spikes? That he be more politically correct in his tweets? When I was Spikes age, I did, and said many, many stupid things. But, back then, we didn't have the social media culture that allows a moment's indiscretion to be repeated (or retweeted, as the case may be) to a degree that was hitherto not even remotely possible. I wouldn't necessarily use the word "tolerant," but I think I am certainly far less fazed these days by thoughtless comments. That includes Spike's "four years a slave" comment, which I saw as a fairly innocuous reference to a movie that was out at the time.

Thanks for making sense of this... It strikes me that Spikes considers Hernandez to be innocent, and that is his opinion, and he has a right to it. We can argue how smart the opinion is, but if he is speaking up for a friend that he believes is innocent, that is not a "low-character" move. Quite the opposite, in my opinion.

Anyone on here who is claiming that Rochester is not Bills country is just being a dick. And, Rochester is most definitely in Western New York. Look at a damn map.

I could never watch Gilligan's Island as a child because I was too empathetic, and I just couldn't bear to watch Gilligan embarrass himself. I had a very similar experience watching this video-- I only got through about a minute of it. It was the Skipper, and Gilligan wearing suits, and whining. Do Jets fans really watch/enjoy/tolerate these guys? If these two were in WNY, bitching about Marrone, I would feel shame.

What a great story. I was psyched that the Bills acquired Shady for his talent. But, it's just great when a Bill turns out to be more than just a player. Shady has joined the community. Makes me proud to be a Bills fan. I was born and raised in Rochester, and used to go to Redwings games as a kid. My parents still live in the Penfield house I was born in. Man, I would love to go to that event and support a great cause, and a great player.

My fear is that Rex has a hard-on for Tyrod, and he makes him the starter. Then, despite his great running ability, he is unable to get the ball to our numerous playmakers, who subsequently lose morale, and poison the locker room. Rex (being Rex) keeps Tyrod in as the starter for way too long. In week 11 (right after Tyron fires a bullet into the waiting arms of Derrelle Revis), Rex puts in Cassel, whose motivational skills are unable to turn the offense around. Finally, week 17, in a last ditch effort to end the season on a high note, Rex starts EJ vs Miami. Ndamukong Suh, coming off a ten game suspension for stepping on Tom Brady's throat, ends both their careers by viscously stomping on EJ's good knee, 3-13.

I wonder if Pettine doesn't regret his short tenure, and hasty departure from the Bills a little bit? Head coaching opportunities open up every year, and 2014 saw HC turnover in Cleveland, Detroit, Houston, Minnesota, Tampa, and Washington. If Pettine had waited the obligatory two years (and assuming we still had the 9-7 season- a reasonable expectation), Pettine could have been interviewing for the Falcons, Bears, Broncos, Jets, Raiders, and 49ers, and very well could have ended up HC for the Bills. All of those options look like better gigs than tending a dumpster fire in Cleveland. Even the Raiders are looking ascendant.

How are Rex Ryan's defenses predicated on a strong secondary? I assume by that you mean that his defenses rely on the secondary more so than most defensive schemes. What is unique in the way Rex uses the secondary?

Maybe Hogan wants to improve, also. Maybe Hogan has been a hard working, dedicated team player ever since he first donned a Bills uniform. Maybe his work ethic has been as solid as EJ's. Maybe, Hogan will, once again, exceed expectations next season. And, BTW-- that looks like ranch dressing next to those wings in your avatar, instead of blue cheese. WHAT'S UP WITH THAT???

Stats are useful tools, but they never tell the whole story. I think that everybody, even Buffaloed in Pa, knows how valuable Fred has been to this team. But, let's get real, here. This will be Fred's last season. We all know it. His role will be limited, sure. But, he will still be an asset in his limited role, both on and off the field. He will retire a Bill at the end of the season, and I hope they retire his number. There should never be another 22 in a Bills uniform. Now leave it alone.

Our failure to significantly improve the O-line (with the possible exception of Incognito) inspired me to vote for the signing of Felton as my favorite move. So, my vote for "favorite move," was really more like a vote for "least favorite." As far as least favorite move, I wonder why so many bemoan the signing of Cassel? I think we all feel that we needed a vet on the team, and Cassel is certainly that. So, why hold that move in lower esteem than signing Tyrod, who, let's face it, has about a 0% chance of seeing the field? My fear with Tyrod, and the reason he get's my "least favorite" vote, is that I see him as a possible distraction, taking valuable reps from our other, less mediocre QBs, and possibly crashing a game in some failed, hubris-filled, delusionally optimistic experiment on Rex's part. Such experiments at QB can be a morale killer. Really, I like all of our moves, although, I agree with an earlier poster that not signing Searcy should be up there. I think we're going to miss him. He was an asset on the playing field, the practice field, and the locker room. You can't have too much of that sort of energy.
