  1. I'm pretty hammered right now, and it's not helping...
  2. I'm not sure I entirely agree. I think it's a poor draft class in terms of elite players. But, if you take the top dozen or so players out of this class, I haven't seen any evidence that the remainder is below par for their position in this draft, compared to any other year minus its elite players.
  3. I wish we has gone for Jake Fisher. But, I also remember posting a couple months ago that we should be going with bpa, and that's who they thought they were going for. This is all second guessing people who know a lot more than I do.
  4. They're saying he's strong as hell.
  5. After seeing them play in shorts???
  6. I have never watched that show, but I had it in mind when I was writing my previous post. Isn't the premise if that show that the first 48 hours after a crime are the most important regarding the gathering of evidence?
  7. OK, I understand. Although, I think it says a lot that the police are willing to wait until after the draft to question him in an active murder investigation. I wonder how concerned teams are that he might be the father of the child?
  8. That makes sense.
  9. I'm not sure what you mean?
  10. He's not even a suspect, at the moment.
  11. I agree with Fong. Roll the dice if he is there. The police have stated that he is not a suspect, it has been reported that he had not been in contact with the victim (his ex-gf) since September, and the police being willing to wait until after the draft to talk to him says a lot. Perhaps the worst-case, likely scenario is that he is the father of the child whom survived (she was eight months pregnant!!!). That would be a pretty big distraction to anybody. But still, roll the dice. Although, I'm pretty sure I'm wrong more than KOKBILLS.
  12. What about this La'el Collins? Expected to go in the first round, but drops because of the timing of a crime he is not implicated in? Certainly some sketchy details there, but fourth best tackle, 6'5", 305 lbs. Plays guard or OT.
  13. The Pats* are going to use their extra compensatory pick to draft their next Tom Brady.
  14. Did that change in defensive philosophy not include bringing in Spikes as a run-stuffing specialist?
  15. Does anyone else remember how bad we were at stopping the run the season before we brought in Spikes?
  16. This is in stark contrast to the findings of the court, district attorney, and the NFL. Where did you get this information?
  17. Probably a better test than the Wonderlic would be to build a giant maze, and put some cheese at the end of it.
  18. That is why I included the parenthetical caveat, "by Rex standards." Rex talks everybody up. He has gushed about Tyrod, and Cassel, as well. But, in the direct interviews I have read, Rex will add things like, "he needs to use his legs more..." and that sort of thing. That's as close to a public criticism as you'll ever hear from Rex. One thing's for sure-- If EJ has taken that "next step" and wins the starting job, you're going to be having a good time on these boards! I followed your link, and I have to say that's pretty anecdotal. But. it's still pretty good to hear, especially in the context of Watkins' recent comments. I think if we look at Rex's history in choosing QBs. it's not unlikely that, even though he continues to tout the "open competition," he has already made up his mind. It might be one of his greatest flaws, and one that Paolantonio alluded to at the end of the interview. I certainly hope that isn't the case. I think we'll know early in TC if Rex has already made up his mind, or if it is, indeed, an open competition. Hopefully, it is the latter. And, I hope EJ wins squarely. Personally, I have a much higher opinion of Cassel than most on this site. I believe that his seasons with the Pats* and the Chiefs were not a fluke, but his abilities with adequate protection, and decent skill positions, of which we will hopefully have both. If EJ can beat that Matt Cassel, then maybe we have a franchise QB.
  19. Were any other of our past coaches here, I would say that Cassel, and Manuel would both see starts. But, with Rex, I think that he has shown that he will stick with a starter much longer than other coaches. I think it's going to be Cassel, and (assuming our O-line is offering adequate protection) he will play at a high level. He has shown that he can be effective with the right tools and protection, and I don't see any reason to believe that his previous high-level seasons with the Pats* and Chiefs were a fluke. Also, I think that Tyrod should be in this poll. Rex has been fairly lukewarm on EJ (by Rex standards), but he has sort of gushed about Tyrod. If Tyrod has a good TC (not outside the realm of possibility), and Rex has a hard-on for him (also, not outside the realm of possibility), then he could very well be our starter-- even with his apparent accuracy issues.
  20. Marqueis Grey, IMO, has the potential to be great. He has a varied skill set, has played as a WR, QB, and FB. He has been described as having great "football intelligence," and he has been getting stronger every year. In the brief time he was on the field last season, he made the plays he had look easy. And, I love this story. A lot of people don't really care so much about the character issues, but I do. I love this guy, and I'm glad he is a Bill. He may not be the reason, but he certainly made it easier.
  21. So... Ebron + #19, or Watkins?
