We are also in a win now mode. We'd like to get one more good year out of him. Edit: I will admit my bias, here. There is no Buffalo Bills player I would rather see in a playoff game than Fred Jackson. And, IMO, there is no Bills player who deserves it more.

Brady 4 game suspension upheld; Will go to court

And, the standard of proof in arbitration, as well as civil litigation is a preponderance of evidence, hence Wells' language, "more likely than not." -
This is really the best way of putting it. Fred's value as a Bill is enormous-- far beyond just running the ball-- he has been a consistent safety valve for every Bills QB he's played with, he's a consistent blocker (and DIDN'T lose a step in that regard, last season, IMO), and he's a team leader on and off the field. His heart, and his intangibles are spectacular. And, he is perennially under-rated, and perennially exceeds expectations. This year will be no different. I hate them every season!

Amazing to me that this thread made it to page two.

We should wait a couple more seasons before we trade him. Maybe when he's 40.

Astro-Notes Day 3: Sunday 8/2/15

I imagine the garbage cans don't fall over as easily as Chandler. -
Who will start at QB - Training Camp Edition

I disagree with this. Even if Cassel doesn't get the start (and I voted for TT), I think he is as close as we have to being a lock on the roster. BTW- does anyone know if Simms is PS eligible? -

A lot of hay has been made of the language in the Wells report-- specifically, phrases like, "was generally aware," and "more likely than not." That phraseology seems vague, and many Patriot* apologists have jumped on that as a way of deflating the case against Brady (please, pardon the pun). But, these phrases that Wells used were not an indication of the exact likelihood of his findings, but an indication of the burden of proof required in the Wells investigation which also happens to be the same burden of proof in any civil trial-- that is, a preponderance of evidence. To state that something was, "more likely than not," can in this way mean anything from a 51% likelihood to a 99%likelihood, because a 51% likelihood is all that a civil arbitration needs to show. That Brady was, "at least generally aware," is exactly what Wells needed to show to reach his conclusion. But, I think that any reasonable person (which probably isn't me) would suspect that Brady was probably much more than just, "generally aware." -

Oh-my-good-God-in-Heaven!!! I'm trying to figure out who to feel bad for here. Can you imagine the look on this guy's face as a "Look Up Cheaters" banner flew around the practice field??? I think I feel worse for... myself, for not feeling pity for this guy. I can't stop laughing inside! I'm so conflicted!!! -
For one day, I like Jets fans

That's very funny. But, I'm glad it wasn't us. -
You're right. (Fixed it-- my math was off, anyway.) I had forgotten Bryant's upper hand. I put Carrington on my list, more or less, as wishful thinking. I was a fan of his when he was playing OLB for us, and I was disappointed when we cut him. He seems like a real hard working, good-work-ethic kind of guy, and a good fit for a Ryan defense, as he's something of a hybrid. I was surprised to see him listed as a DT. But, in all honesty, I'm a little mystified by how we are going to move people around on defense. It's going to fascinating to see-- we will likely have a very similar, if not nearly identical, starting defensive roster from last season, but used in enormously different ways. And who knows? It's hard to think of someone like Jarius Wynn, for example, being on the bubble, or Stephan Charles, but they very well could be. I can't wait to read the reports out of TC. It should be one of the funnest, ever.

I'm updating my final 53 prediction, pre-training camp. After some consideration, I am of the mind that we will carry two fullbacks. Tyrod will win the QB competition, and we will cut EJ. We cut Gay. Personel are listed as they are on the current roster per BuffaloBills.com: QB (3) T. Taylor, M. Cassel, M. Simms C (1) Eric Wood G (4) R. Incognito, J. Miller, K. Urbik, C. Richardson T (4) C. Glenn, S. Henderson, C. Kouandjio, T. Chandler RB (4) L.McCoy, F. Jackson, A. Dixon, K. Williams FB (2) J. Felton, J. Connor TE (3) C. Clay, M. Gray, N. O’Leary W (6) S. Watkins, P. Harvin, R. Woods, C. Hogan, M. Easley, D. Lewis DE (5) M. Williams, J. Hughs, J. Wynn, M. Lawson, M. Buchanon DT (5) K. Williams, M. Darius, A. Carrington, S. Charles, Corbin Bryant LB (4) N. Bradham, P Brown, R.Johnson, Ty Powell CB (5) S. Gilmore, L. McKelvin, N. Robey, R. Darby, R. Brooks S (4) A. Williams, C. Graham, D. Williams, B. Rambo LS (1) G. Sanborne K/P (2) D. Carpenter, C. Watkins takes shots at old coaches
Rocky Landing replied to Jerry Jabber's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
So, when discussing the difference in coaching during an interview, Watkins, rather than answering honestly, should say the same old scripted crap" "I just want to do whatever I can, each and every day, to help my team win. At the end of the day, I just want to be the best player I can be. I just need to work hard, and make plays, each and every day..." God, I hate those interviews. I'd much rather watch a player mumbling with his cleats in his mouth.
