The problem with this list is that it doesn't include drop percentage. Goodwin has been thrown a lot of balls that have not been catchable. In fact, according to Sporting Charts.com, Goodwin has a 0.0% drop percentage, meaning he has caught everything he has gotten his hands on. Contrast that to Woods, who has dropped 6.5% of his passes. http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/drops/2016/

Kaepernick to start on Sunday
Rocky Landing replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
And, as a distraction, I would think it could affect the Bills more than the 49ers. Although, I strongly suspect that the players in the locker rooms around the league have a better handle on Kaepernick's views than any of us hand-wringing, pearl-clutching, or knee-jerking fans. -
Kaepernick to start on Sunday
Rocky Landing replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's telling that Gabbert has had almost identical rushing yards to TT. I haven't been watching the 49ers, particularly, but I think it's safe to say that Gabbert is not half the rushing threat that Tyrod is. This stat has much more to do with Chip Kelly's offense, and I would think that Kaep is certainly better suited as a rushing QB, right? But, as a passing threat, I would think that Gabbert is the more accurate passer. But, I only know what I see on places like NFL Network. Regardless, this makes them harder to game plan for, IMO. More guys in the box, and man coverage in the secondary? Gilmore better get his act together this week! -
Last week, that difference in method, I would guess, likely accounted for the Rams being above us on many lists. That being said, I think the earlier in the season, the more I would trust the "eye test" method over general stats.

Wrong.

Is there a quote, or a link to this?
-
Well, he had two false starts last game, which are much less up to interpretation that something like holding. Plus, he didn't snap the ball to Tyrod when Tyrod lined up behind him! What's up with that???

I kinda get where Yolo's coming from. We've had a three-game winning streak, and we're going to be playing a 1-4 team at home. It's a natural, Bills-fan, knee-jerk reaction to exercise one's inner chicken little. We are, after all, the Bills. This is exactly the kind of game we could find a way to lose.

I stand corrected. I don't know why 70,000 had stuck in my head. Maybe that was season ticket sales? (Too high a ratio, IMO) A bit under 20,000 sounds right to me. But (and I'm not even being hyperbolic here), our enthusiasm outmatched their numbers. We were like the Scots in the big battle scene in Braveheart. Before the game, a Rams fan said to me, "you must be psyched..." And I replied, "are you kidding me? The Bills are playing in Los Angeles! This is amazing!" It seemed almost surreal for me to be watching the Bills in a venue where I have worked plenty of set lighting jobs over the years. And, I know there were many, many East Coast transplants who had driven in from all over California, Arizona, and Nevada. Tell me if I'm remembering this correctly: When Robey-Coleman made his pick six, the subsequent fan eruption almost sounded like a home game, right?

No Dareus or Sammy? No problem
Rocky Landing replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we forced LA to go three-and-out all of two times in that game. They marched down the field on us almost every drive. The one thing our defense did fairly effectively was to shut them down in the red zone. But, those were nail biting situations against a team that has had an anemic run game, Kenny Britt as their #1 WR, and Case Keenum under center. The inability to keep opponents from converting is going to hurt us. So, YES, we need a healthy Dareus back. Offensively, our run game was incredible yesterday. Our passing game was not. I think there is reason for hope. But, just Watkins presence on the field takes pressure of our other receivers. Never was it more evident, IMO, than yesterday how much we miss his presence even beyond his playmaking ability. So, YES, we need Watkins, too. -
The Coliseum holds about 70,000 people, the majority of which (I believe 60,000?) are season ticket holders. And, apparently, a decent percentage of those season tickets are held by corporations and such. As a result, there were quite a few empty seats. I'd say a good 6,000, or so. In my section, I would estimate the Bills fans to be around 25%. If that distribution was consistent throughout (and I think it was), then that makes it around 16,000 Bills fans. That sounds like an insanely high number for a team that came from 3,000 miles away, but I think that's pretty accurate! And, we were LOUD! I can barely talk this morning.

I have to say, a very polite, and respectful crowd. Thank God it was the Rams, and not the Raiders who returned to LA!

Bills Awarded WR Justin Hunter from Waivers

And??? -
I almost had the DJ make an announcement: "Jamie Nails, Rocky Landing wants his beer. You better get in line." I could not believe how many Bills fans were there. Damn straight!

I was at the game today, and it was a whole lot of fun to watch. But, from that perspective, a few thoughts: - It was hot as balls out there today, and the sun was brutal. You just don't get that kind of desert weather in the North East. And, the LA Memorial Coliseum sucks! It's ugly, and hot, and brutal. There wasn't a whisper of a breeze until the second half, and the place was a bowl of hot breath. - Justin Hunter is an enormous individual. I was about 20 yards from his touchdown catch, and I have to say, that was an exciting play! TT was scrambling, and was just about to cross the LOS, when he saw Hunter heading to the corner. I don't think any other of our receivers could have made that catch, if I'm remembering it correctly (Maybe Clay?). He could become one hell of a red zone threat. - It was cool seeing Reggie Bush out there, getting a few plays, considering his history in that stadium. And, btw, Reggie can block! - I could not believe how many Bills fans were out there! Man, we were representing! - Robey-Coleman's pick six ruled the day! - It was a good thing the rams suck in the red zone or we would have lost this game. - Shady was amazing. He won this game for us, IMO.

Offer accepted! I'll be at the tailgate wearing a green Bills hat.

OK, I have a confession to make: this will be my first live NFL football game. I never got to go to a game, living in Rochester as a kid, and I moved out of Rochester when I was 19. But, I've always been a Bills fan. Now, at 52, this will be my first. Man, I'm looking forward to it!

Bills Awarded WR Justin Hunter from Waivers
Rocky Landing replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I, for one, respect his willingness to introduce a new wing flavor to WNY- especially one with a storied, cultural history. And, his description has ne intrigued: "Just know this,” he said. “If you try it, you’ll like it. It’s not hot, it’s not sweet; it’s just a good flavor.” I'm also interested in seeing what he can do on the field tomorrow- from the seventh row around the 10-yard line! -
ESPN Report - McCoy Injures Hand - QUESTIONABLE
Rocky Landing replied to BBills14's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with this. We do need a more balanced running game. I think one of the aspects of Karlos style that worked so well was that it was very different than Shady's-- Big, strong downhill running versus Shady's quick cuts made us that much more dynamic, and that much more complicated to defend vs the run. I don't think MG has as complimentary a style as KW did, but I do think he is our second best RB. I also think his increased touches would benefit Shady (as opposed to being "at his expense). -
ESPN Report - McCoy Injures Hand - QUESTIONABLE
Rocky Landing replied to BBills14's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Straw man argument here. Appreciation for Shady does not equal hate for MG. And describing Shady as "not physical" is bizarre, and does not follow any stat. -
Does anyone have any insight into parking?

We were thinking about the Metro option, but I'm worried about what kind of mosh pit it will turn into after the game. (Rochester transplant since '91, btw.)

Conspicuously absent from that article is an explanation of how they throw a handful of chicken bones onto a table with the NFL logo crudely scrawled in blood while incanting, "IDRABMOL ECNIV."

Gilmore "O-lay" move on Blount
Rocky Landing replied to 8-8 Forever?'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't remember this play specifically. But, I certainly do remember seeing how Gilmore played, and what he did for this win. All that being said, I wonder: In the following week, as they watch the game tape, will they tell Gilmore that he did the right thing?
