  1. I can absolutely see Cardale becoming a successful QB. I could also see him flaming out. I will say, however, that the LA Chargers may be the best place he could possibly have landed.
  2. Yes, he has. http://buffalonews.com/2016/10/27/seantrel-henderson-opens-battle-crohns-disease-drug-suspension/
  3. Although, to be fair, most TT threads do not, in fact, start out as TT threads.
  4. I would like to see him consistently step forward in the pocket. He rarely does this, but it seemed to me that he did it more last season than he did the season before. And, the only plays where he effectively threw up the middle were the plays in which he did. I personal don't think he will take the next big step until he gets better at maintaining the pocket. If and when he does, our O-line immediately improves, and the rest of our offense with it.
  5. Good stuff. Thanks for all the work and analysis. I sure hope we throw the ball more this year.
  6. I'm curious where Watkins stands in term of percentage of passes thrown his way, when he's on the field. In other words, we know that he receives fewer targets than (to use your examples) Julio Jones, or OBJ. But, we also know that TT has thrown the ball far less than Eli Manning, or Matt Ryan. But, it still seems to me that he gets a low percentage of those throws, relatively. Or, it might just be me screaming at the TV, "throw it to Sammy, FFS!!!"
  7. For what it's worth, the studies that I linked to that really douchey guy were done with "THC-rich cannabis." A quote from one studies conclusions: "Although the primary end point of the study (induction of remission) was not achieved, a short course (8 weeks) of THC-rich cannabis produced significant clinical, steroid-free benefits to 10 of 11 patients with active Crohn's disease, compared with placebo, without side effects. Further studies, with larger patient groups and a nonsmoking mode of intake, are warranted." Studies at the Mayo clinic, and the Meir Medical Center in Israel had similar results, with some patients reaching full remission. But, it's the lack of side effects that is the real story. That we have maintained an almost century long federal prohibition on marijuana, while at the same time absolutely embracing opium based medicines is utterly bizarre.
  8. Obviously, you didn't even look at the links. All three were placebo controlled studies. But, so what? You've demonstrated that no matter how wrong you are, you will not admit error, even when the evidence given is as established as the Mayo Clinic. Instead, you will double down with the same condescending, childish snark that has become your unrelenting modus operandi on this site. You can continue your pointless argument with the Mayo Clinic, if you like. I've made my point.
  9. Interesting. Your sources are in direct contrast to the findings of the Washington Post, and the Cato institute. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/wonk/wp/2016/10/13/heres-how-legal-pot-changed-colorado-and-washington/?utm_term=.bba6620b6480
  10. Just for a little perspective: Odell Beckham Jr, while only missing one game, has sustained injury throughout his career. http://sportsinjurypredictor.com/player/odell-beckham-jr/6942 It's unfortunate that Sammy's foot injury has been the cause of so many missed games, but if he is truly "100%" recovered from it, then there's no reason to believe that he'll be any more injured than any other #1WR (which is plenty!) We've already seen him play through bruised ribs, which are painful as hell!
  11. This is one of the things that makes this site so good. Cheers, Astro!
  12. OK. O6.5 it is! (wait a minute... is that right?...)
  13. Sorry guys, but until the FDA recognizes marijuana as a medication, and sets guidelines for its use, it will not technically be considered a "prescription drug." Please see the link for reference: http://medical-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Prescription+drugsApplicable quote: "The designation of a medication as a prescription drug is made by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration." And, jmc12290, You could have saved me the trouble and googled it yourself, and found numerous studies that have been done on the effects of cannabis on Crohn's disease. But, here's a few for those following this thread (and thanks! It's the trolls who keep a thread like this alive!) https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23648372 http://www.medicaldaily.com/medical-marijuana-achieves-complete-remission-crohns-disease-drug-improves-247783 http://www.medicalmarijuanainc.com/crohns-disease-medical-marijuana-research-overview/ Please note that the journals referenced in the articles, National Library of Medicine, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, are peer reviewed. The third article also references a study done by the Mayo Clinic, which one would assume is also peer reviewed.
  14. Well, sure. But all teams aren't so equal in this respect. It's far more likely, imo, that we lose TT to injury than, say the Packers lose Rogers, or the Pats* lose Brady*. And, the loss of Shady, could be equally devastating, as could the loss of Sammy, for that matter. How many teams' playoff aspirations would be sunk by the loss of their RB?
  15. This is an ignorant statement. Doctors do not prescribe medical marijuana, ever, in any state in the country, because it is not a prescription drug. Prescription drugs have to be approved by the FDA as such. What doctors do, is recommend medical marijuana, in the same way they might recommend Tylenol, or Motrin, or a dietary supplement. Are you claiming that his cannabis consumption is not health related, or a part of his Crohn's disease treatment? Because there are several studies that have found that marijuana can be an effective treatment specifically for Crohn's disease. Whether his personal doctor gave him this recommendation, or not, seems irrelevant, since he has stated, unequivocally, that he was taking it for this reason. Of course, he would have tested positive regardless of the delivery method. I can tell you that any dispensary in CA has a variety of products, from the plant, itself, to edibles, vapor, and oils.
  16. I would add: Pats* O12.3 Jets U5 And, I wouldn't make the bet on SF, or the Texans. Or, quite frankly, the Bills. As is, sure, we are an 8 win team. But, I fear that we are only one or two injuries away from a 5 win season.
  17. These guys have something to say about it: http://gridironcannabis.org Jim McMahon is an especially vocal advocate for this organization. I was privileged to have a conversation with cannabis advocate Eben Britton (former OT for the Jags, and Bears) about Seantrel Henderson's situation. In fact, there is a growing body of evidence that shows that cannabis is one of the most effective treatments for many of the symptoms of Crohn's disease, with few side effects. Henderson is, perhaps, one of the best examples of the need for cannabis reform in the NFL. The biggest point this organization has to make is that many players are compelled to use medications such as opioids, and others, many of which have lasting side effects such as liver, and kidney damage. Eben Britton relayed a story to me of a player he knows, who was faced with a choice between a literal handful of daily pills, versus marijuana use-- and for him there was no contest.
  18. I can't really disagree with anything he said in the article. I honestly think that Rex's biggest fault as a HC was the lack of discipline on the team. Of course, none of this makes Marrone a decent coach, nor does it necessarily build a winning culture. Trust is equally as important as accountability in a wining culture. Going by the statements from our players after Marrone split Buffalo, I don't think he understands that, or is able to build trust with his players. Screw him, anyway. I hate the guy.
  19. NFL Bold Prediction: In week 10 on Monday Night Football, Ndamukong Suh will step on Tom Brady’s* spleen causing explosive, shotgun diarrhea on national television. A patriots* ball boy who goes by the name “The Defecator” will steal Brady’s* crap-stained jersey from the team laundry, and sell it on ebay. The sale will spur a high-profile bidding war between Kanye West, and Donald Trump Jr., who secretly hates Brady* because the senior Trump once referred to him as “the son I never had.” The entire incident will become overwhelmingly embarrassing to Brady*, and his play will fall off to the point that the ever-fickle Pats* fans* will begin chanting for Jimmy G. Bills Bold Prediction: The Bills’ 17-year playoff drought will finally end with a wildcard spot. They will win their first playoff game vs. the Pats* and “Tom Sprady*” who will throw a pick six to Kevon Seymour, intended for Chris Hogan. Belichick* will be seen openly weeping on the sideline.
  20. This may be the single, strangest thing you've written on this site.
  21. I hope there is a tailgate. But I hope it is better organized (or perhaps less organized?) than last year's Rams game, in which we paid $$, and went through a security checkpoint for the privilege to stand in the single longest beer line I have ever encountered. It was organized by the Bills Backers club which meets at a spot in Santa Monica called Buzby's. Great bunch of people. Very comforting, as a transplanted Western NYer, to be around other Western NYers. But, if it's another $45 ticket for a gargantuan beer line, and food trucks, I'll likely pass. Hopefully, people take advantage of this thread and organizing something smaller, and more clandestine. The game was a blast, though. About 20% Bills fans in attendance, but still drowned out the Rams fans. Bills players afterward tweeted that it felt like a home game. I imagine that the Chargers game is going to get pretty expensive. Stubhub only holds 29,000 people, and is MUCH nicer than Olympic Stadium, and LA Chargers fans are already more established than Rams fans due to the proximity to San Diego. I think your best bet (if you don't already have a source for tickets) is to find someone with season tickets who only wants to recoup the cost of a game they are planning to miss. I was lucky to have a friend in that position. You can find such people on Stubhub-- but I'd start looking now.
  22. I want to get paid more, too...
  23. I wouldn't exactly agree that our team is full of "holes," but it certainly is filled with question marks. And, I think that training camp is going to answer most of those, and by the time the season hits, I think we are going to be pretty solid. Defensively, I don't think anyone needs to worry about the front seven at all. A lot of hay has been made regarding our LBs, but I think they're going to come out of TC as a solid unit. I also think our CBs have a lot of potential, and I'm not worried about Darby one bit. But, after Hyde, I we are awfully shallow at safety. Offensively, I don't have any issues with our RB corp, considering the depth we have at FB, and the way they will likely be used. TE is the obvious choice. But, I don't feel particularly comfortable with our WRs, either. After Sammy, I don't know that we have any big play makers. With only one vote, I'll go TE.
  24. It's like you're a plant trying to give #34fan an opportunity to sound reasonable.
