Nope. And, I'm honestly quite surprised that the "yes" votes are ahead. After reading so many posts, I get it. I just don't agree with it. I will never hope the Bills win fewer games in a season. I will never be in favor of tanking. I will never be happy when we lose one of our best players. I will never look towards the next season, while the one in front of us is still unfolding. I will always look towards the next game, and always hope that we win it.

Just got home from work. A friend texted me this news, and I spent about ten minutes being despondent. A few thoughts: 1) I was at the Bills Backers at Busby's watching the preseason, and several people wondered out loud why they were giving Sammy an entire quarter, but didn't give a single snap to Shady, Clay, or Boldin, and barely gave White, or Z. Jones a thing. Now we now. 2) Goff just got a lot better. 3) How pissed off is Tyrod right now? 4) I wonder: did Sammy know what was going on during the game, or was he in the dark like the rest of us? 5) Mostly, I feel robbed that we never got to see Sammy at a season's full potential.

Just got my tickets for the Bills @ Chargers game in the mail. Section 108, Row V, Seats 13 & 14. In a 29,000 seat stadium.

I would add Houshka, Jones, Dawkins, Peterman, and Boldin to that list.

I can definitely see some of the third string moving up on this chart.

I've made bacon jam. Burgers, waffles, crackers, omelettes, anything savory that you would want to add a sweet element to. edit: Crackers with brie cheese, and bacon jam went over well with company.

It's a little unfair to use Matt Ryan as the comparison. He has to be the benchmark for stepping up into the pocket. It's amazing-- at times he looked like he was standing in a phone booth made out of offensive linemen. But, we don't need, or, I would submit, want that level of pocket presence in Tyrod. For one thing, that human phone booth would be a human well in Tyrod's case. But, indeed, it is his ability to escape that makes him so special. If he could just learn to occupy the pocket, and step forward, that would be huge. I'm not sure the word "innate" applies here.

I written several times on this site, including at the beginning of last season, that I thought TT needed to step up into the pocket. I have also posited that his ability to do so would take pressure off the O-line, and RT in particular. I don't necessarily agree that this is an "either you have it, or don't" attribute. Accuracy, mental aptitude, certain mechanics, perhaps-- these are the things that can't be taught. I think that many such attributes are things that Tyrod already possesses. That's the good news. You can't teach his athleticism. But, stepping up into the pocket? That, I believe is something that is easily understandable. I think it just takes awareness, proprioception (which TT has miles of), discipline, and self-confidence. I think it also takes some real chemistry with the O-line. I think Tyrod can get there, and I think his game takes a significant step forward if/when it does.

I believe that I read that Peterman, and Shorts had developed chemistry early. Perhaps that is why they has Shorts working out with Peterman, below Lewis, and Reilly? At any rate, it would be nice if Lewis started to hit his potential. Nice, also to hear that Holmes made some nice catches.
