Well, you said he never got his hands on it, and then the next sentence said, "... as soon as the ball touched his hands." Seems like a contradiction. I believe that the stat for dropped passes does not take into consideration the circumstances for why the ball was not reeled in. That would be too subjective a data point to make an accurate, or useful statistic. It just places a percentage of the number of passes that touch the hands that aren't caught. Clay was 3.5% last season, which is fairly middling.

FWIW, sportingcharts.com defines a dropped pass as follows: "This statistic counts the number of times an intended receiver touches the ball but fails to catch it. If the ball is thrown but the receiver never gets his hands on it, it is not recorded as a drop." I believe that would count the INT as a drop.

Regarding the Jets: Yes, they are a terrible team, and yes, they are tanking their season. But, the players on that lousy team showed up to play IMO. The players weren't, as some have suggested, trying to lose.

But, our #1WR (Mathews) is brand new to the team, our #2 (Jones) is a rookie, Tate is our KR/PR, and won't likely see very many offensive snaps, Holmes has been, by all accounts, piss-poor in TC, and who the hell is Kaelin Clay? Yikes! Is there a less inspiring WR room in the league?

This is all well, and good. But, I'm not sure there is a more pedestrian WR corp in the league. They haven't exactly set TT up for success in that regard-- at least looking at it from the outside. I predict a lot of dropped balls this season.

I've made the point previously (and been flamed for it) that Tyrod's mobility, as well as his tendency to stretch out the pocket, takes pressure off the left side. Subsequently, with Glenn, Cog, Wood on the left, opposing defenses rarely attack on the left, making Mills' job that much harder. I agree that Mills is better than given credit, and so, apparently, does McD.

I thought the way Rex developed Darby was one of the few things he did right. To not understand why we traded Ragland means he either isn't paying attention to the scheme change, or he doesn't understand the scheme change, or he doesn't understand Ragland's strengths, and weaknesses. Landry was one of my favorite non-Bill players until he effectively ended Aaron Williams' career. He's a lot of fun to watch. I wonder how well he'd go over in the locker room, given the history.
