  1. I think his situation has more in common with Tim Tebow than Jackie Robinson.
  2. You are a piece of work following a grim narrative.
  3. Well, it's an interesting theory. Could happen. If it does, Gugny will tear a rotator cuff patting himself on the back. (This seems more like an offseason thread to me.)
  4. The above bolded words are completely wrong. He has donated very generously to numerous organizations that do everything from helping the homeless, to education, after school programs, and on and on. The list is too numerous to write here. http://kaepernick7.com/million-dollar-pledge/ You can dislike him if you want. But, the active disdain for him in the media has far more to do with what others are saying about him (I would say for political expediency), and little to do with his own words, or actions. I think if more people actually knew the real story, he would not be so very controversial. If nothing else, he has very actively, and thoroughly put his money where his mouth is.
  5. Just can't see him going to the Pats*. He should go to the Phins, and they cut Cutler. Or, he should go to Dallas, because their backup is a scrub, and it would be primetime drama dealing with Jones. Texans, Jags, Cards, Seahawks could all use him, I suppose.
  6. I forget the specifics, but SF made some pretty piss-poor trades in the last draft, right?
  7. I was bummed when they originally cut him- thought he looked great in preseason. Loved his intensity, and he showed that today.
  8. Of course they know it's a metaphor. It just happens to be an insulting metaphor.
  9. There are actually plenty of union reality shows. I've worked on a few. There's also quite a budget range these days. Something like Cops, or Big Brother are dirt cheap, because once they are set up, it's pretty much "run and gun" with a minimal crew. Other shows like Hell's Kitchen, or American Ninja Warrior have a pretty decent size budget, and pay pretty well, but are not in production for very long. A season of Hell's Kitchen takes only five weeks to shoot.
  10. I'm assuming if Poyer is out, Elston starts? Bummed about Poyer, but looking forward to watching what Elston does! I'd be more concerned for Humber. He isn't even holding onto the handlebars!
  11. Holy crap! That wasn't funny at all! Did y'all see how much beer they wasted putting him out???
  12. For me, they'd have to relocate AND change their name. I could handle a relocation (I relocated), but I wouldn't be happy about it. If they relocated and changed their name, it would be only a few seasons before any semblance of continuity was left, and they might as well be the Chargers-- which is the team I'd switch to, now being an LA resident and all. Or I'd start watching baseball, and be a Dodgers fan, instead. Baseball is a lot less stressful, after all. I'd probably live longer.
  13. This seems more likely, and inspirational than any tribute to Orton's mediocrity. If Orton is put on the Wall of Fame, then I think the rubber matt that did in Kevin Kolb should be tacked up there, as well.
  14. The far too common opinion on here that the only real thing wrong with this offense is Tyrod Taylor is laughable. And, anyone who thinks that Peterman will be able to make some magic with such a poor receiving squad is delusional. IMO, if we stick Peterman in with this receiving corp, we will not win a game. I don't know the answer to this question, but how many receivers got their hands on the ball last week and failed to reel it in? TT is not the biggest problem on our offense. Give him two decent receivers who can catch the damn ball, including one who can be some sort of deep threat (we have none), and TT's numbers improve immediately.
  15. O'Leary and Jones were both targeted six times. O'Leary pulled in five, and Jones one. If our TEs are the focus of our endemic passing attack, it is because we do not have any reliable WRs. Tate looked like our best WR on Sunday. And, he's getting spread pretty thin. One of my favorite parts of that game was that Tate made an excellent tackle on the kick return immediately after his TD.
  16. Our best, and most productive receivers in the last game were our second string TE, and our K/P returner. Our current #1, and #2 WRs would be third string, at best, in any other NFL team. That's a problem. Now you're just being intellectually dishonest.
  17. Zay was billed as "The Most NFL Ready WR in the Draft." He wasn't.
  18. You whine about people making excuses for Taylor, and then throw out a comment like that? What-the-hell kind of excuse is that??? You're telling us it's Tyrod's fault that his receivers can't get separation? Give me a break!
  19. Out leading receiver today was our second string TE. Our best WR is also our K/P returner. How many passes did Jones get his hands on today? With one reception? Did anyone calling for Peterman to start notice our O-line today? The notion that Peterman would have been better in this situation is nuts.
  20. My favorite part of the game was when Tate caught his TD pass, and then made a great tackle on the kick return. That our best WR is also our best special teamer, and K/P returner says a lot about this our offense.
  21. Was Dalton going to crawl to a first down?
  22. Is it me, or does TT look nervous?
