Myth or Fact: Starting a quarterback right out of college, or too early, even a really good one, can damage their career and likelihood of developing into a franchise QB. Any thoughts? This whole post smack of an agenda. "QBs rarely develop..." Really???

I'm going to guess that you're very wrong.

We could certainly do worse than Keenum. He would be a solid mentor also, and has already had the role with the Rams/Goff. I don't mind paying some money for the guy. You get what you pay for. He'll certainly cost more than he is worth, but so what? We need a guy. If we don't get someone solid, we may end up regretting the departure of Tyrod, at which point this board becomes intolerable.

I am not of that mind. Even if our rookie QB is ready to start week one, I think we would be foolish not to have a vet QB on the roster.

Is there anyone who wants Taylor as their first choice? It strikes me that the Tyrod Taylor debate is essentially between those who utterly despise him, and inflate their opinions with cherry-picked data, meaningless invective, outright lunacy, and (as I believe is your case) straw-man arguments versus those who view him as somewhere around average, with clear downsides, and upsides, but not the worst option we have. At this point, I don't even think Transplantbillsfan has TT as his first choice.

I would hope they still make Gaines an offer. I'd rather have Gaines than Johnson, or Wright. Can Gaines pay nickel?

Yeah, that's not the first time Mills has sucked. If you're suggesting that Mills, or any other player, intentionally threw the first half of that game because of loyalty to Tyrod, or some other similar conspiracy theory, you're as high as xRushx. The Bills were a rudderless ship with Peterman at the helm. I'm sure, from your other posts, that you'd love to put that on Tyrod (or McD, or the entire rest of the team, perhaps). I don't. I put it on Peterman. They looked like a different team in the second half.

I would agree that it is more likely that Peterman is on the Roster, come September, than Taylor. But, it seems more likely that if Peterman were on the roster, it would be as third string, a role that Taylor's contract precludes.
