Can we afford to carry 3 active QB’s all season?
Rocky Landing replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think the #1 reason we might want to find a new #3 is our O-line. They stink. Be that as it may, I won't be surprised in the slightest if we go with Allen/Peterman, or (hopefully not), Peterman/Allen. Hmmm. It just now occurs to me that this is my first post in which I have expressed a hope that Allen starts the season. Up until last night, I was very much of the mind that Allen should sit for several games, at least. I wonder how many other fans, like myself, have changed their mind after yesterday? I have three reasons for my change of heart: 1) McCarron is out. 2) Allen looked really good, and confident. 3) The idea of Peterman starting depresses me. I don't think he will do well against the Raven, or any DC who has game planned for him. Also, I wonder if this development (assuming we now roll with two QBs), raises Logan Thomas's stock? -

We griped about Ducasse all last year. He's a tree stump. -

The thing about O'Leary is that he is clutch. Always has been. -
As Bills fans, we should never lose our sense of humor. In that way, when we become the dominant team in the AFCE, we won't turn into Pats* fans.

YES!!! The playoff drought is really over! And, a brand new one has begun! This one will be even better than the last one!

Hard Knocks kinda made him look like an unhinged diva with a shoe fetish. Which I'm cool with. But, really, it must be frustrating as hell to come out of college as a first round pick, with tons of potential, and get stuck into the most dysfunctional team in the NFL. I think he could be a great WR, and great pickup for the Bills. I'm psyched to see what he can do with what I have to believe is a substantial chip on his shoulder.

It's a little hard to tell exactly what you're talking about through the broken diction, and punctuation (I assume you're typing this on your phone, while driving?), but if you're trying to sell me the conspiracy theory that the offense purposely threw the first half because they didn't like McD's decision to sit TT, I'm not buying.

We Learn A Lot About Allen When He Plays the Browns
Rocky Landing replied to Shaw66's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Essentially, what you are saying is that McDermott will decide who the season opening starter will be based on tomorrow's game. -
This seems like a stretch in defense of Nate. When Tyrod came out in the second half, the Bills looked like a different team. My take, at the time (other than "why did I spend so much money on these tickets..."), was that Peterman could not lead the team, and was indecisive both in the huddle, and at the line. Confusion reigned in the first half. I have always said of that game that the five interceptions were only half the story of Peterman's performance.

Hard Knocks 2018: The Cleveland Browns

It was a two-year tank. That's some next-level strategy, right there! -

I know there have been mid-season HC firings where one of the coordinators moved up. But, it seems to me (and I have no stats, whatsoever to back this up) that they are rarely retained beyond that season, and if they are, it wouldn't be a team with an endemic losing culture. If Hue doesn't turn this team around, this season, I think there would be a housecleaning at the end of the season. I was thinking the same thing regarding Hue's similarity to Rex, when he was on Hard Knocks with the Jets. Rex was famous as a "player's coach," and Hue seems to be of that temperament, as well. I actually work in the motion picture industry in LA, and I have worked on several reality shows (mostly cooking), and I can say that while they do play up the dramas, and create narratives in the editing room, they're not handing out scripts to anyone. I would think, also, that with the turnaround that this show requires, that this is some pretty raw editing. In other words, I don't think there's enough time between shooting, and airing for there to be much misrepresentation from the editing process. -
Hard Knocks 2018: The Cleveland Browns

If Haley or Williams think they are going to slide into the Head Coaching position after another failed Hue Jackson season, they're as dumb as dirt. Teams that are trying to move on from a losing culture don't generally give promotions to key members of that culture. -
I agree. I have some problems with some of the acquisitions, and losses, but in general, this team seems both well coached, and well managed. That's not a bad combination. I also have a feeling that even if we do only get four, or so wins this season, the two-year revolving door at coaching staff has come to a stop. I think McDermott/Beane are going to be with us for a while. And, that's a good thing.
