  1. He got banged up a couple times, but was back out on the field right after. I think Hyde/Poyer were well positioned to help him out, also. And as another poster said earlier, a good pass rush elevates everyone. But, I will maintain what I said in another thread: Ryan Lewis was an upgrade to that other guy he replaced.
  2. I'll guess that the Packers are going to be preparing for next week with a little more intensity than the Vikes did for this week. Right now, the Vikes are wondering what hit them!
  3. Ryan Lewis was an upgrade to that guy he replaced.
  4. You can question it. I was a little disappointed they took their foot off the pedal. But, I certainly understand it. Run the ball, and the clock, down. Don't turn it over. Simple, and it worked. Lewis wasn't bad, was he?!?!
  5. Hughs, Milano, Lorax, T. Murphy, ON FIRE! Nate Orchard contributed, as well. And, I don't care about his RTP penalty. Cousins couldn't breath out there.
  6. This team showed discipline today. DISCIPLINE!
  7. Pretty cool War Chant the Vike fans have.
  8. Are they moving Groy to RG? And if so, will he have an easier time staying on his feet?
  9. Josh missed a lot of reads last week. If he improves in that regard, and I suspect he will, that would make me feel better about things. If the defense looks more like they did in the second half of last week than the first, that would be good. Really, any sort of pleasant surprise would be OK. If they just cover the spread, I'll be pleased. Is a 16 point, or less, differential too much to ask for?
  10. From practice squad to starting corner. Wow.
  11. There's a lot of optimism on this thread, and that's great. But, the question I would first ask is: How many times will Allen get sacked? To my mind, the other stats are secondary. So far, Allen has not been afforded adequate protection. Were he to get that, I think we would see him start to develop a lot faster than we are likely to see otherwise. JMO.
  12. Watch what Hughs did in the second half vs. the Chargers. He's not an elite pass rusher, but he is legit. Shaq does not get anywhere near the pressure Hughs gets. Not even close. He is a weak point in the defense, just like whomever plays opposite Tre White will likely be a weak point that will be exploited by the Vikes. That makes Shaq Lawson part of the problem.
  13. Of all his rookie mistakes, that may have been the rookiest. There are plenty of defenders in the MWC that Allen could have dragged in for a touchdown.
  14. Here’s my take on this whole Davis thing. Prima Dona, pro-bowl CB who played opposite Andrew Luck, finds himself, at age 30, stuck with the lowly Bills, gets depressed, and quits at halftime. Screw his teammates, and all of Western New York. His ego just won’t take it. (And also, yes, the Bills are that bad.) Later on, I have to imagine that his agent calls him up screaming… (Screaming!)… and he accepts some version of an explanation that mentions God (one too many times, imo), and blames his overly competitive spirit, and maybe… just possibly… leaves the door open for some sort of career in the future. Vontae walked away from a boatload of money on Sunday. Let’s not miss the fact that his agent, that we might assume also has a family, lost quite a bit yesterday, as well. Good luck in your future endeavors, Vontae, you miserable, quitting sack of dogs**t.
  15. I think you're way off base here. There are honorable ways, and crappy ways to quit, just like the are honorable ways, and crappy ways to release a player. When the FO lets someone go in a way that disrespects the contributions the player has made to the organization, they are criticized for it. There are so many examples, it's not even worth elaborating. If this move by Davis isn't worthy of criticism, then I don't know what is.
  16. I hope he's invested wisely. It's a tough job market out there.
  17. Speak for yourself.
  18. Perhaps I have read the numbers wrong, but his guaranteed base salary in 2017 was $465,000, plus a $239,508 signing bonus, and his 2018 cash payout is $555,000, plus base salary. There's more to it, and I'd be lying if I said I understood it. But, his total contract worth is reported at over $2.6 million. Whatever. It really doesn't matter. Let's say he only made $500,000 over the last two years. He's 24 years old. Maybe I'd feel sorry for him if he had been good at what he does, like so many other NFL prospects who don't make it in the league. Or, if he had been good, but just hit a batch of bad luck. But, that is not the case. He stinks. On ice.
  19. Cowherd pretty much gets all of this right-- even the pronunciation of "Tyrod." The "Best for Last" segment was a little mean spirited, but so what? Peterman's career is, indeed, over. I'm pretty damn good at my job-- I've been doing it for over thirty years-- and I'm just solidly middle class. Peterman's made millions (right out of college!) doing something he truly sucks at. Call me cold-hearted, but if all Late Nate has to deal with is a little bit of ridicule, he can go ahead and cry himself all the way to the bank. He gets no sympathy from me.
