  1. Throughout training camp He’s Mr. “Can-Do” A preseason champ Wow… de ja vu… Peterman
  2. Almost all of the above? But, my first choice would be Knox. I’d like to see Duke also, because I’m a fan of the signing, and I’d like to think he still has a chance at the roster. That may be dreaming, though... And, of course, Christian Wade. Who doesn’t want to see him? I hope he gets a few snaps early with the ones.
  3. Los Angeles Wildcats. Finally, an LA team I can get behind.
  4. I think Duke would fit nicely in Pittsburg.
  5. Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed that in these preseason games, the starters (which is only for the first quarter, anyway), on both sides of the ball, and on both teams, move at about 3/4 speed. The starters are installing schemes, and working out kinks as a unit. That's why Jerry needs to be there. But, none of the starters, on either team, want to risk their season. It's after the depth players start playing that the game speeds up, and players really start hitting, and taking hits. These are guys that are fighting for a roster spot, and want to show the coaches everything they've got. I'm not sure if there is a stat for this, but I would suspect that the majority of injuries that happen in preseason games happen in the latter quarters.
  6. I’m not sure if the well had been poisoned by not picking up Shaq’s fifth year option or not, but I see Shaq having his best year, and looking like someone who was worthy of a first round pick.
  7. Well, we have Brown who is potentially a legit #1, and we have Beasley who is definitely a legit slot receiver. Then we have Roberts who is a legit kick/punt returner. After that we are deep in average WRs. What good does that really do us to keep so many? I keep reading about how deep we are at RB. But, in all honesty, Shady is a legitimate concern coming off his worst season, and showing less speed, and agility. Gore is 36, and Singletary is a rookie. I would be surprised if we didn't keep four RBs. And, we'll have a minimum of three TEs. Four would not surprise me there, either. Either way, seven WRs seems highly unlikely to me.
  8. I think a lot of folks here consider it a given that there will be six WRs. I don't believe this is the case. Beane had mentioned on more than one occasion the possibility of only carrying five. I also think that we could carry four TEs, and four RBs, which would make a five WR scenario almost certain. And, at that point, I think the competition if far less settled. Brown, Beasley, Roberts, Jones, Foster would be the conventional wisdom, but I could certainly see Jones, or Foster losing out to some of the other guys fighting for a spot.
  9. Looking at how well our O-line did, along with keeping Allen upright, and safe in the pocket (did he have to break from the pocket more than once?), they ran some absolutely textbook-perfect screens. And, not just the starters. The second string O-line ran a couple beauties, as well. Great to see them coming together, and working as a unit. I do too. That PI was heartbreaking!
  10. Gruden just loves him At least that’s the rumor This guy grows on you Like a cancerous tumor Peterman
  11. I keep forming these "Burma Shave" style rhymes in my head. I can't stop. Preseason was great In regular he stank So the boy cried All the way to the bank Peterman
  12. The context of the quote was a SD player talking about how bad the O-line was playing, not how they were "abandoning their QB."
  13. Oh, I don't know. I think arguing that the entire O-line would be willing to risk their own careers based on a defender's comment taken out of context is at least as idiotic as some racial/political connection. Hey, maybe Peterman's a Trump supporter?
  14. I keep catching myself making up little rhymes in the style of the old Burma Shave signs. Like: I'm a big time quarterback In the NFL Here comes my pass TOUCH D - Oh hell.. PETERMAN
  15. I'm not talking about suing him! Jesus, everyone needs to calm down...
  16. Ritchie Incognito: "Let me tell ya what I learned about in counseling..."
  17. I actually love watching preseason games. I love seeing the bubble guys fighting for a spot, or even just recognition, trying to keep their NFL dreams alive. I also like seeing the coaches experimenting with various positions, and schemes, and the evaluation process. We got to see Christian Wade take it to the house. I was wondering how Senorise Perry would look in a game, and I got to see that. I wouldn't at all be surprised if we did go 4-0 for the preseason, just on the depth of our defense alone. IMO, our second string defense is a good, or better than the bottom third of the league's first string defenses. Word.
  18. I think in one series during the Colts game, Barkley handed off to Singletary something like nine plays in a row. People say that preseason games are meaningless, but I love them. I love watching players battle for spots on the roster, but I also love to see a coach like McDermott give a rookie RB back a pounding to see what he's made of. It's a shame Knox wasn't out there-- maybe he would have gotten his first touchdown. But, I suspect we will see him soon enough.
  19. I only say that there is a distinct possibility that we only carry five wide receivers because Beane has mentioned the possibility more than once. I also think there is a good possibility that they carry four RBs, and four TEs, which increases that likelihood. Another indicator that I've seen is that they have been giving Roberts so much time in at WR, and giving him so many routes. And, if we only carry five, the obvious choices would be Brown, Jones, Beasley, Foster, and Roberts. I would say there was a zero chance of carrying both McKensie, and McCloud.
  20. One of the definitions of fraud is "someone who is not what they seem, or is represented to be." I'm sure Late Nate wants to be a competent NFL-level QB. He's not. Does he know he's not? I think somewhere in his brain, he must. That is why I said "... to some degree..." Do I hold it against him? Only if he's wearing a Bills uni. But, the bottom line is: Nate Peterman is not a competent NFL quarterback.
  21. It would be a surprise if he wasn't cut, no?
  22. I don't hate the guy, I hate the player. At least, I did when he was wearing a Bills uni. I think the situation is just amusing, now, and I'm glad he's on the Raiders, because I'm watching Hard Knocks, and I think it'll be good entertainment. I can't really root for him, though. At least to some degree, I think he's a fraud. And, I don't like frauds. I'd much rather see Mike Glennon get their backup job. He's had a decent pro career. In the two games he played in AZ last year (behind truly the worst O-line in the league), he held his own, and did pretty well. I think he deserves it more.
  23. Here's mine: I think it's a distinct possibility that they only carry five wide receivers, and neither McKenzie, or McCloud make the cut.
  24. Prediction time: Who are your Surprise Cuts? They happen every year, although I feel like this roster is more set than it usually is by this time in preseason.
