That's really a meaningless statement. In reality, he did what he was told, participated in all the drills he was given, and pretty much caught everything thrown in his direction. If he's not put in with the first team, there isn't going to be a lot of reporting on him. Lack of reporting does not equate with "invisible." If he was "invisible," he wouldn't have been given the opportunity he was just given in the last game-- and opportunity he capitalized on.

Are you saying his practice time didn't go well? I don't recall any reports suggesting that.

I'm going to brag here. When he was signed in January, I said that if he makes the 53, he might be the best blocking WR we've ever had. I still believe this.

I assume you're being humorous. Be that as it may, Ray Ray got ample opportunity to earn his spot, and it doesn't seem like he has.

Fans do say such things every year, it's true. Personally, there's usually one, or two battles that I'm watching and care about. This year, there's quite a few more. More than any year I can remember.

The whole list is ridiculous. I'm sorry, but Lurker does not remember enough of Ed Rutkowski's three starts from over fifty years ago (whether he was there, or not) to draw an honest comparison to Peterman. Nor does he remember the one, and only game Brian McClure ever played in 1987 to draw an honest comparison. Clearly, he googled something like "worst Bills Quarterbacks," or something like that, and yanked some names off some list without a ton of thought. Google makes experts of us all.

I can't remember caring about the final cutdown quite as much as I do this season. So many camp battles with players that I am a fan of. The suspense is killing me!

I've said in other threads that I think it is not unlikely that they only go with five WRs. I think Duke performances in the last two games might make six more likely. I've been high on him since they signed him in January. Really happy for him. If the Bills don't put him on the 53, I suspect he will get signed elsewhere, and we will regret it.

Oh really? You have a lot of keen recollections of Joe Dufek's five starts from 1984, do you? And, I'm sure you remember saying to yourself, "ya know, that Ed Rutkowski just doesn't pass the eyeball test," back in 1968? Or, the scrubby back-up Bill Munson, who never actually started a game back in the late 70s? I'm sure you had your eyes glued on every snap he made. (Far better stats than Peterman, btw. Of course, all of the nobodies you googled had better stats than Peterman.) Seriously, I hate this sort of dishonest crap. (Perfect avatar, btw.)

I'm going to disagree with you here. Not about the "yips," or whatever. But, about everything else. Peterman wasn't "thrown into the fire." At all. He started nine weeks into the season. He was game-planned to be the starter in that game. Nine weeks into the season, as the designated starter, there can be no excuse. And, he crapped the bed spectacularly. Allen, on the other hand, was thrown into the fire, in the first week of the regular season, after Peterman, again the designated starter, once again crapped the bed vs. the Ravens. If you want to call nine weeks into the season as the designated starter being "thrown into the fire," there's certainly no excuse a year, and two training camps into the system. If I was Gruden, I wouldn't waste my time holding this guy's hand to "take pressure off him," or "get him in slowly" three years into his NFL career.

Actually, all you have to do is watch the second half of that game and you can see Tyrod Taylor (who ain't no Tom Brady!) lead the offense, and look like an actual NFL QB. It was night and day. Tyrod certainly wasn't great. But, Peterman absolutely crapped the bed.

Almost all of the above? But, my first choice would be Knox. I’d like to see Duke also, because I’m a fan of the signing, and I’d like to think he still has a chance at the roster. That may be dreaming, though... And, of course, Christian Wade. Who doesn’t want to see him? I hope he gets a few snaps early with the ones.
