I was listening to Vince Ferragamo interviewed on the radio this morning (I live in Los Angeles, and he gets interviewed frequently). When they asked him about yesterday's games, he talked about the Bears, and Lions, then about the Saints, and Falcons, and then about the Cowboys. He literally did not even mention the Bills, by name, or a single Bills player, AT ALL. I was swearing at the radio, but at the same time, I just gotta laugh.

What's up with their safety, Woods, btw? I wonder if there was some bad blood there, as he ripped Cole's helmet off his head after he was down. Pretty awful move.

The Cowboys hardly ever had Beasley run a route further than five yards from the line of scrimmage. And, he always had other egos in the WR corp that had to be assuaged. His talents were greatly underutilized in Dallas. I was skeptical myself when he arrived here that he would be anything other than a gadget player for our offense. But, this guy is talented. Everything he said about the Cowboys, and the way he was (under)used in their offense looks like it was true. So glad he wears a Bills uniform now.

The formula for the quarterback rating is: (a+b+c+d)/0.6, whereas: a = (completions/attempts - 0.3)/0.2 b = (yards/attempts - 3)/4 c = (touchdowns/attempt)/0.05 d = {0.095 - (interceptions/attempt)}/0.04 And, as complicated as that formula is, there's a lot missing from it.

I'm still kind of reeling from this game. It seems almost surreal. The Bills are actually... GOOD.

I posted earlier this year (in a "bold ideas" thread, or something like that...) that there should be a minor-league NFL (NMLF?, perhaps), that would consist of 32 minor-league teams that would function as farm teams for each NFL team. They would be subsidized by each NFL team, and the rules governing how other teams could sign players off of them would be similar to the current rules for the practice squad. NMLF teams would have to reside in cities that did not have current NFL teams. And, it would be a good method for testing new rule changes, and gauging the unintended consequences. This has been discussed ad nauseam, other than to say that Henderson's previous suspensions for medical marijuana use should not be a consideration in whether the Bills sign him.

Where did you find the word "habitual?" I don't know of any credible source that has described him as "habitual." He had a history of smoking marijuana in college. Do you know who else had a history of smoking marijuana in college? That's a rhetorical question. Millions upon millions of people have smoked weed in college. I smoked weed in college. I'm 55 years old, and I still smoke once in a great while. And, that does not qualify me as "habitual." This is disingenuous. Seantrel smoked marijuana in college. Sure, that would be "prior" to diagnosis, but there is no evidence that he smoked in the NFL for anything other than medical reasons. And, I hope you look at that article I linked. His condition was utterly dire. It's miraculous that he was able to work his way back into the NFL. EDIT: And, I don't know if you've ever smoked yourself, but habitual marijuana use most certainly does not lend itself to the sort of work ethic required to work one's way back from the effects Seantrel suffered-- 50 lbs of weight loss, 2 1/2 feet of intestine removed, four months of crapping into an ileostomy bag attached to a hole in his waist. It's beyond me that anyone would sweat his use of medical marijuana, and not instead just admire his resiliency.

A cop out? What does that even mean? Are you suggesting he was using his Crohn's disease as an excuse to smoke pot? Do you think that he has a substance abuse problem in the vein of Karlos Williams? Because the would be an ignorant assumption. Also, as I recall, he was very straightforward regarding his medical marijuana needs, and use. I did a PSA for an organization called the Gridiron Cannabis Coalition a few years ago, and had a pretty lengthy conversation with former Phins RB Ricky Williams. He's quite the activist in that regard. He knew Seantrel personally, and knew a lot about his situation when he was really suffering with the Crohn's Disease. He said the choice for him, at the time, was either the weed, or literally a handful of pills a day. From what I understand, he worked incredibly hard to get himself back into shape after some really brutal surgery that included re-attaching his colon to his rectum, which resulted in him losing 35-40 lbs of muscle. He was a pretty decent RT before the Crohn's sidelined him, and if he's in decent shape, I'd say this is a high-character guy that we'd be happy to have as depth.

Considering how they are using him, his average YPC, the declining number of touches he is getting, and our upcoming schedule, I'm going with the Steelers game, 12/15. Maybe the game after.

I don't think you missed anything, unless you missed the replay of his injury. The fact of the matter is: he's 34, and it looked like he broke his ankle pretty badly. That's a good 12 month recovery, at best. So, he'd be able to get back on the field midway through the 2020 season? As a #2 RT? At 35? I just don't see it happening. He's had a really interesting, and inspiring career. I will remember him for years. But, I strongly suspect that his days as a Buffalo Bills RT are over. ^See above^

With the demise of Ty Nsekhe, and the continued, high-level play of Von Miller, and an otherwise strong Denver defense, I think we’re going to see a fair amount of chip blocking from Smith, and DiMarco. It’s probably not accurate to base the Denver gameplan on what we saw in the Miami gameplan.
