Week 17: NJ Jets at Buffalo Bills PostGame

McKensie's all of 165 pounds. I would assume that Foster has earned his spot on ST. Why else would he be active? -

I have in another thread, and I have read another call him "useless," and others clearly not understand his role, and/or value in this offense. -

One thing that I have noticed about Foster is that on kick offs, and punts, he is usually the first player down to the ball. And, he has many times been the one to make the tackle. They use his speed on ST as a gunner, and I doubt they are going to be willing to give that up. -

If anyone has any question as to how much the coaching staff respects McKensie's skills and value, understand that along with all the gadget plays they use him for (far beyond just jet sweeps), when they are down a P/KR, they go with McKensie. When they want a third RB option, they go with McKensie. And on Sunday, when they were suddenly depleted of CBs, they went with McKensie. I want Duke out there as much as anybody. But, anyone thinking that he will supplant McKensie, or that McKensie is "useless," is not paying attention. -
Richie Incognito extended by Raiders

In one regard, this might actually benefit him. Nevada has a long history of being hardcore anti-drug. I would assume it's a lot easier to get illegal drugs in Oakland, CA than in LV. Now, booze and hookers, on the other hand... -

A lot of hay has been made today about how Yeldon needs to be active. I would like to point out that Yeldon averaged 2.6 YPC on seven carries for 18 yards. Gore averaged 4.3 YPC for 26 yards on six carries, and Gore did all his work up the middle. Motor is the clear starter. Who is Yeldon meant to supplant? -
I've never been down with the whole "ref conspiracy theory" thing. It would be RICO territory, for crying out loud. And, even if there were a corrupt ref thing going on, I don't know why they'd be favoring the Jets in a game like this. But, for the life of me, I can't figure out how they could have missed that facemark on McK.

Long has been listed as a backup center all season, and was until recently listed as our #2 center, even though I don't believe he has delivered a snap all season. In fact, he played center for the Jets, albeit poorly. Morse got dinged last week, and I'm sure you'd agree that our line is better with both Morse, and Feliciano on it.

Make the following inactive: Smoke Beasley Motor Shaq White Lorax Morse Play Allen for a series, or two. Don't play Jordan Phillips much, if at all. Let Perry and TJ run the ball 60%. We'll probably still beat the bums.

Very scientific. There's no arguing with this-- they use metrics. You're in denial. Stop arguing with hard science. You are miserable with a "miserable index" of 27.24.

I'm really looking forward to watching this game because I'm excited to see our depth. We may not have a lot of "star" players, but we do have depth. And, I don't really care so much if we win this one. I really just want us to win our last game of the season.

I meant to type RG for Feliciano. We've had Ford in at RG? What game was that?
-
True. But, it's also been pretty nice having some depth out there.
-
I know that conventional wisdom (or at least TBD) says that Ford is better suited at guard. But, we haven't actually seen him play the position, have we? Feliciano has been the best RG we've had in longer than I can remember. He's definitely been able to step up at center (although, he did have a couple errant snaps after he took over for Morse last week), but I think Morse has been great this season. Ford has been getting better at RT as the season has progressed. Nsekhe is clearly the better RT, but he's getting pretty long in the tooth. I think it's a good idea to keep developing Ford at RT while he's under rookie contract. Nsekhe will be long gone before Ford's contract is up, and hopefully by then Ford will have earned a new contract. How nice would it be to have some talented continuity on the O-line?

I would have been shocked if McD had announced anything less, especially in regards to Allen. I doubt we'll see Allen run at all, and I wouldn't be surprised to see plenty of holding calls, as the O-line works to keep him safe. But, Allen's been developing week to week, and they're not done with him. It's one more game, just like @Texans will be one more game.
