Not sure if it's been stated, but IIRC, they've had Ike Boattger taking snaps at center during practices since his draft. He might be something of a sleeper candidate for the O-line. If I recall, his stock was really high his Jr year (projected 2nd round, I think?), and fell due to injury his senior year. If they see him as having the potential for backing up Morse, they could have seen his value as greater than Long's. I don't believe Long delivered a single snap at center last season, even though he was listed as Morse's backup. And if, as the season progresses, they don't think Boattger is effectively filling that role, Feliciano comes back eventually.

Duke back. CB King released.

This may be overstated a bit. I suspect that day 3 was all about BPA. It's especially likely that Hodgins was BPA at that moment, as was Fromm two picks before. It's only weird if you judge his abilities based on one play. -

I'll say this-- if Josh ever throws a Hail Mary into the end zone ftw, I want Duke in there. -

I think McKenzie's position is less stable than people think, and I would put him in with the competition for the same spot Duke is competing for. Certainly, they value McKenzie's athleticism, and versatility. But, all of those gadget plays that they used him for over the last couple years are all the sort of plays the Vikings used Diggs for, as well. And, frankly, Diggs is better at them. I would give McK a slight advantage over Duke, but I think his position is much more tenuous than it was this time last year. -
Forget Diggs! These 4 Free Agents need to produce!

I would say that we also need Daryl Williams, or Brian Winters (or both?) to produce on the O-line, as well. -
Not too bad for a pro wrestler. He's the most successful of them all. Of course, McMahon's a billionaire. But, I hope, and suspect that Johnson might be better positioned to make the XFL successful, at least in terms of branding. Along with becoming an NFL offseason venue for watching football, I've always hoped the XFL might turn into a sort of farm league for the NFL.

The Rock was the highest paid actor last year, has been in the top three for years, and is the second highest paid actor of all time. This is pocket change for him.

Man, I hate to agree with this. If the NFL doesn't bubble (and it may be too late?), it's hard to see how this season isn't going to get derailed.

Jon Feliciano torn pec (returning to practice 10/7)
Rocky Landing replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've been watching all the 2018 Carolina games on game pass to get a bead on Cam Newton's most recent performances, and realized Daryl Williams was in at guard. So, I watched a couple of the 2019 games, and I gotta say, even as a fan of Feliciano, I think Williams is a better guard. -
Revisiting Clowney & a Look at Logan Ryan
Rocky Landing replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd be more than interested in either one of them. It's worth noting, though, that a real problem with signing even star players this season, (especially on defense, IMO) is how the restricted training protocols, and the diminished preseason will affect the players, and coaches ability to get them into the system. Clowney would make the most sense, IMO, considering the heavy rotation on the D-line. But, continuity is a real asset this season from which the Bills will benefit. I'd be pretty shocked if they cut Murphy, honestly. -
If you live in Lackawanna, it's a given that you're a Bills fan, I believe.

Not sure why you're making these assumptions. The protocols that are being put in place are systems that have never existed before. It's an enormous undertaking that most certainly has not been planned overnight. Add to that the unpredictable elements of the pandemic, and the unprecedented nature of the situation. This is uncharted territory. Consider the draft that took place in April. That was a groundbreaking production on a scale that had never been attempted, and went off without a hitch. Say what you want about Goodell, but I don't think anyone in the NFL has their head in the sand.

I'm also in TV production (gaffer), in Los Angeles. There are several productions that have started back up (not mine, unfortunately), and the protocols that are in place give me hope that the NFL could actually pull this off. I'm certainly more optimistic now than I was a few weeks ago. If I may ask, what department are you in, and what city?

Not at all surprised by McCloud. He was a fun guy, but I think we've seen him at pretty close to his ceiling. Maybe he lands on another team as a gadget guy, but Diggs, and McKenzie are both better at everything in McCloud's wheelhouse. He could still land on an NFL team. In a different year, perhaps McGhin could have really developed on the PS, and turned into a decent G. He was a fun underdog rookie to root for last season. Interesting guy with a lot of good things said about him by people who knew him. But, he's probably done in the NFL.

Bills need to get to 81 players by start of TC
Rocky Landing replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Given how much continuity the Bills have going into this season, I would think that 80 would be the logical choice, perhaps with an emphasis on the thinner positions, like LB. There just aren't going to be as many roster spots to fill this year than there has been for quite some time. -

They should put the 16 lowest bubble players on one end of the field, and line up nine Jugs machines pointed towards them, and fire them all off simultaneously. The seven who don't come away with a ball get cut. -
