I agree with this in theory, although I don't think they need to be all that "adamant." I think they're confident Ford will continue to develop. I also think Ford grew comfortable in his role as last season progressed. And, if Ford is a better G than T, the same might be said for Williams. I also suspect that the acquisitions for such a deep O-line unit may have more to do with the possibility for attrition due to Covid-19. Offensive, and defensive linemen are certainly the highest risk players on the team as they are in close, face-to-face contact with opposing players, and many of them are technically obese. I would not be surprised if, in practice, they were moving players around the line a lot for this reason. But, I still think, at least for the start of the season, they are going to place a higher value on continuity than they would for other, more typical seasons.

Bills tabbed to go 15 - 1 by blogger
Rocky Landing replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I just wrote in my blog that every team in the league is going to go 0-0-16, a 32-way tie, and instead of the Lombardi Trophy, they're going to hand out participation ribbons. It's in my blog, so it's probably true. -
Disagree with you on both counts. As @NoHuddleKelly12 said, having no crowd noise, and focusing on what's happening on the field, and sidelines would be both entertaining, and educational. I think we'd all come away having a greater understanding of football. And, having the train horn without crowds would be hilarious.

I will be disappointed if this happens. I know teams often pump in crowd noise during practices to more closely replicate the game-day experience. But, this seems more like a creative decision on the part of NFL producers. Personally, I'm much more in favor of hearing more of what's happening on the field. Sans crowd noise, the logical creative decision for the directors, regarding the soundtrack, would be to play up all the hits, and banter on the field. Screw the canned crowd noise. Get a dozen more shotgun microphones, and a sound mixer who understands football.

Even the NFL voiceover guy sounds bored. -

I'm probably mostly alone in this, but I'm not too impressed with AJ Klein. So, I'm a bit disappointed to see that our UDFA rookie FB beat him out for a deep TD in 7 on 7s. -

Sammy Watkins used to bowl over people in college, also. It rarely translates to the NFL. -

I am in complete agreement here. This board has a tendency to pump up certain rookies before they take a single NFL snap, and Moss is getting compared to Barry Sanders. I had reservations on his running style and questioned his transition to the NFL shortly after he was drafted, and was flamed. -

NFL WIDE: Brady* calls it quits before the end of the season. Lamar Jackson takes a step backwards. Shaq Lawson gets named to the pro bowl. The NFL competition committee has to become involved more than once to threaten teams attempting to tank the season. BILLS: AJ Epenesa starts by week 8. By mid-season, either Corey Thompson, or V. Joseph, or Tyrel Dodson supplants AJ Klein (who turns out to be a disappointment) as starter. The Dolphins become our biggest threat in the AFCE. Ike Boettger makes the 53. -
FIFY ? I was a Hogan fan when he was in Buffalo-- loved his motor. But, I remember there being reports-- mostly anecdotal-- that he was not well liked in the locker room. Not in terms of leadership, or team issues-- purely a personality thing. I wish I could remember the sources, but it was too long ago.

Getting an asterisk after our name because of the Patriots*... How very 2020 that would be...

Thoughts on Conference Re-Alignment?
Rocky Landing replied to JetsFan20's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Division rivals in the same stadium? I believe that would be a lot different, and very problematic. Imagine being a division rival sharing a stadium with say, the Patriots*... -

How do you have two teams in the same division, Jets, Giants, and Chargers, Rams sharing a stadium? Seems untenable. -

Lee Smith believes he's capable of subbing in at O-line. He said exactly that in an interview last season. -

Yeah, Gunner pointed that out to me, as well. He is still listed as a safety, of course, and was in at safety for his sack against Rodgers, and was in at S week 17 vs. the Jets. I honestly don't know which he played more-- nickel, or BU safety. Of course, ST was his wheelhouse. All that being said, I certainly disagree with him in red, for the sake of this discussion, especially on a list that has Jaquan Johnson in black. Siran was far more productive for the Bills last season, and I don't know why that wouldn't continue into this season. -
