Why is McD not being talked about as coach of the year?
RunTheBall replied to Antonio's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is why all these awards are an absolute joke and really mean nothing. McD should have won it twice so far. He should have won when we broke the drought, and he should have won in 2020 when he kept that team together through all the obstacles of that season. Hamlin should have won Comeback Player of the year over Flacco, that was a big FU to Buffalo no question. Josh should have won MVP over Lamar last year. These awards are nothing but narrative driven popularity contests -

Still hurt from what? It was his non throwing hand he broke in the first game. -
I don’t take Joshua F’n Allen for granted. He missed a WIDE OPEN Morris on that play. It’s ok to say so. The guy is a unicorn. He will make more plays than he misses.

11/17/24 Game 11 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Chiefs post game Thread

I’m one of those guys who just wants the W. I don’t care how it looks, I don’t care about stats, just win baby. That being said - to win this game with Joshua F’n Allen running roughshod through Spags D and lowering the shoulder to get in the EZ is pure poetry. I couldn’t care less about the MVP talk and it annoys me to no end how much that gets brought up here, but thats an MVP level performance by Josh. I was 100% sure that McD was a an idiot for going for it on 4th and 2 instead of kicking. That’s why I’m on the couch instead of coaching. Balls of STEEL! I’ve been tough on MIA Oliver - he showed up. D played well enough to win but needed complimentary O to seal the deal. Total team win. I wasn’t thrilled with Brady, I thought too many first down runs and too many 3rd and longs were the result of his play calling. But, a W is a W so it worked. Amari Cooper is a gem. Listen to his post game. He’s the anti-Diggs. I hope we can re sign him. Great Win. Awesome to have 2 weeks to savor it. F Taylor Swift and I’m glad she didn’t show her ugly mug. Let’s do it in January. Go Bills! -
Week 11 - Chiefs at Bills Game Week Thread

Until we win the SB or beat KC in a game that matters, the narrative will be what it is. Sure, I’d love to beat KC and put a little pressure on them for the 1 seed, but in terms of KC vs Buf, this game doesn’t matter. A W willl give us the inside track at the 2 seed, maybe a long shot at the 1. Our offense is banged up, so is theirs. It’s always come down to the defense and McD’s D has failed to show up when it counts. I think it comes down to the D lines, and ours has been meh at best. Maybe Ed will decide to show up tomorrow. He’s the most underachieving D lineman in the 1st round of his class. As much as I’d like to win tomorrow, I just don’t see it as being as big game as is being hyped. I couldn’t’ care less about the national media opinion. A W will be nice but doesn’t tell us much until we beat them in the playoffs. -
F Gronk, F his goofball family who left Williamsville because it wasn’t good enough, and F the Pats*. Can’t believe this idiot got inducted into our Hall of Fame. What a joke. Gronk NEVER had anything good to say about his “hometown”. Sorry, he’s not a Buffalo guy and never has been. Tre may have forgiven him but Gronk laughed about it on several podcasts, it was never sincere.

Week 11 - Chiefs at Bills Game Week Thread
RunTheBall replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I have to say I was more excited about beating Miami twice than I am up for this game. Sure, I’d like to win, but it only means we have a better chance at the #2 seed. As has been said many times, until we beat them in the playoffs when it matters the regular season W is nice but kind of meh. I think it comes down to our D line, especially interior. If Oliver and Jones do their usually disappearing act, it won’t matter what Groot/Von/Ep do to their tackles because Mahomes is a master at evasion. He’s used to his tackles getting smoked so like Josh, he looks to roll out when it happens. If our D-line can get some interior pressure, I think we win. My BBFS says that we will be up 23-21 with a minute to play when Mahomes gets the ball. After a BS defensive holding call on 4th-4 where Mahomes gets pressured quick, their new practice squad kicker nails a 55 yarder to win it. Billsy. Actually I have no idea on this one. I just hope both teams have fun. -
How has no one mentioned Talking Buffalo with Pat Moran? It’s my #2 podcast right after LOB with Joe Marino. Plenty has been said about LOB so I’ll give you a little insight about Pat. The best thing about Moran is that he doesn’t try to pretend he’s something he’s not. He’s a fan with pretty good football knowledge and readily admits he’s not a film guru, he’s not a stats *****, he’s just a regular dude like us who’s watched the Bills all his life and gives his opinions. It sounds like I’m talking to one of my friends and his over emotional post game takes are laugh out loud funny. Imagine after a particularly crappy Billsy loss you just hopped on a podcast to rip everyone and everything to shreds with a buddy of yours (Joe from Queens) fully admitting that you are just reacting in the moment and may have a better opinion after things have calmed down. Then the next day he will come back after watching some clips or All-22 and having some time to think about it and usually moderates his takes from the night before with more reason and logic behind them. I love it because I respond the exact same way happy or sad. He has good guests from all around Buffalo, spends a little time on the Sabres (usually to rip them) but he’s an unabashed All Things Buffalo Fan and I enjoy the commentary. I can’t do the Cover 1 post game although I do like some of Prohaska’s pods. Tomsett finds himself way too funny and Quinn is always trying to go slightly against the grain of popular opinion so he can act like he’s a voice of reason. Both of them put way too much stock in Twitter as being a voice for Bills fans which it is absolutely not. They spend too much time arguing against hot takes from Twitter clowns which represent maybe 5% of Bills fans. Just because people are squawking online doesn’t mean the majority of fans hold that opinion. Bruce Nolan is awesome on the Bruce Exclusive for a totally out-of-the-box way of thinking about the Bills. He’s not for everyone but I enjoy it once a week.

Sure, a win would be nice but until we beat them in the playoffs I’ll temper my enthusiasm. -
Rest Cooper, Coleman, and put Samuel on IR until whatever injury he’s been dealing with is healed. We’ve got Samuel for 3 years. This season is obviously a bust but if he can get healthy for the playoffs maybe he can be a weapon. I refuse to believe Brady can’t figure out how to use him when he’s already used him in Carolina with great results. He’s gotta be busted up. Indy plays the same defense we do but will actually out 3 LBs on the field at the same time. It’s going to be another dink and dunk game, we should be able to manage with Shakir, Hollins, Kincaid, Cook and Davis. This won’t be a bombs away game. We aren’t getting the 1 seed so I don’t really care if we lose to KC. Honestly, maybe we need to lose to them in the regular season so we can beat them in the playoffs. I know that sounds ridiculous but that’s my BBFS kicking in. We can beat Indy short handed. We need our D-line to put a little pressure on Statue Flacco and not let Taylor run for 200. If we do that, should be a W. Go Bills!

11/3/24 Game 9 GAMEDAY! Bills vs Dolphins Gameday Thread
RunTheBall replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
It’s been a weird year with injuries. Guys who looked to get out of a game clean end up missing games. Practice injuries. McD saying guys aren’t practicing and they end up practicing but then don’t play. Just weird. It will certainly be a more competitive game against the Lolphins. It’s good to see what Elam can do, just not against Miami! On offense I think we are going to see a lot of 12 and 13 personnel. If we can dominate on the lines like we should, we should just pound the rock, control the clock and take play action deeper shots every now and then. If we get behind, things will get interesting. We are going to get a good idea of how much gravity Cooper has been applying to opposing defenses. Still, McD is playing the long game with the lead we have in the division. I still think we get the W, just going to have to play a cleaner game than last week with the penalties and hope the lack of turnovers from our offense continues. Go Bills! -
KC has played like sht and is 7-0. Spags has their defense playing lights out. Does anyone here really think Reid/Mahomes aren’t going to get their act together and roll into the playoffs? They just got Hopkins, he’s not what he was but he will definitely have a similar effect to Cooper with us. I care more about being relatively healthy than the 1 seed. Sure, 1 seed would be great but the only reason we lost to KC was because we had Klein at LB. I think we are seeing a much more mature and relaxed Josh as opposed to last year. I don’t see Spags confusing him as much as he did last year because Allen is more comfortable in our current offense than trying to force feed Diggs and Davis. Just win the Division and let the chips fall where they may. We aren’t going 14-3 and most likely aren’t catching the Chiefs. In fact, I don’t care if we lose to them because whenever we beat them in the regular season they beat us in the playoffs. Turn the tables,

The only thing that concerns me is the law of averages. At some point, even by complete fluke, you’ve gotta think Miami is going to pull one off. I don’t think it’s this week. Our McD takes their McD to school every single time. Their defense is decimated. Tua still hasn’t figured out the 2-high shell which is our bread and butter. Our McD is going to force their McD to be methodical and take the short stuff all game. I don’t think their McD can do it for 60 minutes, especially if we get ahead by 10 points. Just double Hill every play, shadow the other coverage to Waddle, and make their McD beat us with River friggin Craycraft and their RBs. If Miami can’t run against the light boxes we are going to give them this game should be a short one. BUT, it’s a division game, and I don’t care what anyone says whacky sht can happen. I’ll be happy with a W no matter how it comes. I don’t need style points, I don’t need a first half blow out (although I want that), all we need is the W. Just win baby -

TNF. Jets Texans. Who do we want to win tonight?
RunTheBall replied to Billyhouseman's topic in The Stadium Wall
There’s a lot of football left to be played. I’d like to see Houston win and see the Jets buried. I can’t stand that team or the constant hype they get every single season. I’m not worried about the Texans. Stroud is coming back down to earth (he’s still very very good) but defensive coordinators are starting to figure him out. The Texans are going to drop a few games before the end of the year. We need to clamp the division down first so and I want to laugh at Rogers and Jets fans when they lose again. -

RunTheBall replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
The most important thing this defense is designed to do is not give up the big play. Bishop getting absolutely torched in the Houston game signed his bench ticket until next season. McD would much rather have a guy in there who doesn’t give that up even if he doesn’t make many big plays at the safety position, that’s Hamlin. If Edwards can’t get on the field even though he’s been here through the first 8 games then no way do we bring in a safety who’s never been in the system unless it’s an all pro guy like Baker or Honey Badger and I doubt we are doing either of those. -
Poyer was washed last year. Why do you think he was playing in the box all the time? Tre, as much as I love him, is done as well. If they cut him I’d have no problem putting him on the PS just for the good vibes but his playing days are over. Hilarious that people think he can be converted to safety when he was never a great tackler. I don’t have a problem moving Edwards if McBeane thinks it’s the right thing to do but unless we are getting Honey Badger or a solid safety backup I don’t see it happening.

RunTheBall replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get the vibe that our guys hate Miami as much as we do. IDK why, but I think they take pleasure in dominating the sht out of them. I have no worries we won’t be psyched up and ready to play. I expect our O-line to continue their domination so our offense should be able to put up points fairly regularly. It’s a division game though, and even in the depths of the drought every few years we’d steal one from the Pats* and you think at some point Miami has to win one. They did get the BS win during the 200 degree heat game, so maybe that will count for a while. So it really comes down to just limiting Miami’s offense. I think Bernard will be back, and Von will definitely help. Our safeties have been playing much better the last few weeks, especially Rapp. Our corners are lock down but I don’t expect a lot of man coverage this week unless we can’t stop the run with our usual light box. If we can play 2 high zone and keep them from running down our throat I don’t think Miami will be able to keep up. -

All we have to do is bully them in the trenches like we always do, and this year our O-line is MEAN Miami is a soft, soft franchise. They are soft from the top down. Hill got his bag, he doesn’t care anymore. Their defense sucks and is decimated. Josh should have an AFC Player of the Week award in the bag when its all said and done. Even if they somehow keep it close, Buffalo will pull this one out in the end. I hope it’s an absolute laugher and over by halftime but it is a division game so despite our overwhelming advantage, you never know. -

What an absolute dominating team win. Who cares about MVP, 300 yard games, how many WRs have 100 yards, etc. Some of you stat whores need to relax. It’s a W. That’s all that matters. Miami is going to get a BEAT DOWN next week. For your amusement, go over to Fin Heaven and enjoy the meltdown. Absolute delusional fan base. Bunch of clowns. We are on to Miami -
Tua’s Broken Dome (now being placed on IR-out at least 4 games)
RunTheBall replied to RunTheBall's topic in The Stadium Wall
There’s no liability for physicians because no doc would give Tua a 100% green light. Every neurologist who didn’t tell Tua to stop outright would give some variation of “ I feel the risk of severe neurological damage if you continue playing is low, but it’s not zero. The safest thing would be to retire, but if you decide to continue playing you run the risk of permanent damage even if that risk is low” -
IDK if Josh has lost a step but he definitely hesitates to run. There have been several times I’d have liked him to take off and run for a first down or more but he’s hesitating a half second now and the window is closed where as in years past he’d take off immediately. It’s probably a combination of his early season hand injury and coaching from McD/Brady to use his head more and legs less. Also, I’ve definitely noticed more teams having a dedicated spy on Josh. Why Brady has not used that to scheme up an advantage I have no idea. If they are spying him that means there are other defenders with increased responsibilities that we should be able to take advantage of by scheme. I have hope that when we get towards the end of the season/playoffs that they will unleash the Mustang and Josh will take a few teams by “surprise” by using his legs more.

Week 8 - Bills at Seahawks Game Week Thread
RunTheBall replied to BillsFan619's topic in The Stadium Wall
We know they are going to continue to run the light box nickle/dime looks we’ve been doing all season since we are once again down 2 starting LBs in Milano/Bernard. Both Spector and Williams are very vulnerable to the play action pass, which thankfully Seattle doesn’t run a lot of but they’d be stupid not to incorporate that against Buffalo. We know Seattle will be able to run the ball since our D sucks against the run and we insist on giving light boxes to opposing offenses. If ever there was a game where we should adjust our philosophy on D, this is it. No Metcalf means a lot less stress from the Seattle WR position. Put Douglas and Benford man to man on their guys and see what they can do. I’d bring in Mike Edwards or Bishop and have him play the Jordon Poyer position (basically in the box) instead of Lewis and get Lewis off the field. IDK if you guys have noticed but Lewis gets targeted and smoked regularly when he’s on the field. Not sure why we haven’t seen much Ingram after his hot start especially with Lewis crapping the bed. What do I think will happen? We are going to come out in our traditional nickle D, let them march down the field with running/play action/short throws in space where we get torched by scripted plays against our obvious defensive deficiencies. We are going to hope Josh and the O can keep it close until Babich/McD wake up and make adjustments, hopefully before the 3rd quarter this game. Rinse and repeat Still think we should win
