He’s a gadget guy, I don’t think he’ll be a great deep threat, but Reid knows how to use the talents his guys have.

The scheme is fine, our D-line isn’t good enough. It’s been that way for years.

So if you look at the game film, there’s a couple things we’ve been talking about: 1) Spector is ASS 2) Williams played awesome. Best LB out there. Needs to be on the field 3) Bishop was ok but still making a few rookie mistakes that should improve with time 4) The passing game was off (obviously). Looked like Josh was looking deep all the time. There were check downs but he was very late getting to them if he even looked that way. More often than not he tried to make a zero window throw. 5) Smoot made a couple boneheaded plays that cost us big. If he just played better fundamentals a couple of those big plays don’t happen 6) Elam was not as bad I thought. Very tricky tack end zone PI. Still, he’s very handsy and you can’t get away with that anymore and that’s why McD will let him walk unless he has an epiphany next year 7) Jones played very well taking on doubles, Oliver was meh. Von looked good just needs to start finishing, he smoked that R tackle all game. 8 ) Drake Maye played very good especially for a rookie. We didn’t even try to confuse him though which is weird. He knew exactly what defense we were in most of the time when we lined up. I think Babitch thought he didn’t need to confuse him, just bring a lot of pressure, and Maye did pretty good against it

On the All-22 you can see Coleman absolutely smoked Gonzales and was open early. Josh didn’t even look his way until the 1 high safety, who had capped the routes to the right, had enough time to come back to the middle of the field. Keon had zero chance at that ball even if it wasn’t underthrown.

Glass Spector sucks. He popped his calf again, that’s why Williams was in more. I think they were probably trying to give Williams time to heal the elbow. Spector should never see the field again, I’d rather see Buffalo Joe. If Glass Milano doesn’t come back to form in the next 2 games we should start Williams in the playoffs. Babitch got schooled by Alex friggin Van Pelt and a bunch of nobodies. Drake Maye looked like a friggin veteran out there, absolutely disgusting.

It’s a W. Doesn’t matter how, just get it. Fire Spector into the sun. He should never see the field again. The Elam experiment is over. I was rooting for the kid but he will never get McD’s confidence. Just too handsy even though a couple calls were pure BS. How does Smiley still have a job? He’s gotta go in the offseason. Our special teams suuuuucks when it comes to coverage/penalties/and now fake punts. Burn those uniforms we look like old New England* I’m concerned our D-line just isn’t good enough to get past the divisional round. This was one of the worst O lines in football and they were blowing our D line off the ball most of the game. We had to blitz to get pressure and made a rookie QB look like a vet. That’s a problem. We are on to the NY JESTS

I hope we run up the score and throw a 50 burger on these douche bags. I haven’t forgotten 20 years of The Hoodie and Brady running up the score and laughing at us. I haven’t forgotten Gronk (whose entire family should not be allowed to say they are from Buffalo) dropping an elbow on Tre. I’ve lived in NE for 22 years and these front running bandwagon fans SUCK. There has been ZERO Pats* talk for the past 5 years. You wouldn’t know they exist that’s how fickle their fans are (yes there are a few true believers but they are few and far between). I figure I have 14 more years of hating this franchise before I’m willing to let bygones be bygones. I hope they move to Hartford (again). Now that I’ve gotten that out of the way, this a game where the D should dominate. McD/Babitch should confuse the hell out of Drake. Their O-line is atrocious. We need to stop the run, get pressure, and disguise the back end. That should ensure an easy W and as I said, I’d run up the score and then put Mitch in to hand off. I’d like to see Elam get another run at staring corner. I’d also like to see more 3 LB sets because they are going to try and run the ball and I’d like us to get a bit more experience doing that in time for the playoffs. I’d usually say this is a division game and they are all tough but there is no way this should be a game. Our talent is light years ahead of theirs. Stay away from Gonsalez, double Barmore (edit: just saw he’s out, thats good), run the ball and exploit their weak LBs and secondary.

I’ve been critical of Josh’s deep ball for the past year. Something has changed in the last few games and he’s dropping dimes left and right. It’s obvious he’s putting a little more arc on the ball which has helped his accuracy, even on short and intermediate throws. Josh Allen with an accurate deep ball is an unstoppable machine. His touch passes over the shoulder to TE’s and RB’s, his deep sideline shot to Keon, pure poetry. Josh is just entering his prime now that his head has caught up with the howitzer attached to his shoulder and his legs. Enjoy every Sunday for as long as it lasts because you’ll likely never see this in Buffalo again.

Ed Oliver really showed up to play. It's about time and I hope he can carry a level of consistency into the post season. We need our D-line to not sht the bed like previous playoff losses. On the opposite end of the spectrum, I don't care if Baylon Specter ever sees the field again. That guy sucks and doesn't know where to be on the field. I think they put a hurt Dorian Williams back in the field because Spector was so bad.

What a W. Joshua F’n Allen is the best player in football bar none. What a treat to watch him play every week. I thought a L was likely. How wrong was I. We went into the home of the best team in football, down 3 starters on D at the start, and won. That’s all that matters. Style points don’t count. We had control from the first series and never let up. Enjoy the W. We will get healthier on D. We are on to New England*

Most important thing is to not leave any ACL’s or Achilles tendons on that horrific Ford Field turf

This Lions game will tell us a lot about our D and the D-line especially. They have a dominant O-line and 2 great RBs. I don’t need a dominant shut down performance. I need them to slow down Detroit’s running game enough to allow our offense to stay on script and have close to equal time of possession. If we can do that, I’ll be more optimistic going into to the playoffs. Playing the Jets and the Pats* isn’t going to tell us much. I wouldn’t be surprised if we dropped one of those as well if our playoff seeding is essentially set and we rest guys at the end.

Oh no doubt he could. I agree the D has to show some sign of life because we’ve already proven a few times that even in God Mode we can lose because the D is so horrific.

The reality is, the next 4 games don’t matter that much. That doesn’t mean I don’t want to win every one of them. It means we already have the division and a home game, we aren’t getting the #1 seed, and I don’t think 2-4 makes any difference. I’d certainly like to go into the playoffs on a 2 game win streak. We’ve got 4 games to experiment with players/scheme to get an idea of what may work best in the playoffs. I want Milano in there every snap to knock the rust off and see if he has anything left. I want Coleman in there to get as many reps as he can because I think he could be a big weapon. I want Elam to get a real shot and see if he can play (I’m going to sht myself if Ingram gets the nod). I’d like Eli Anku to get activated because he’s the only DT with a pulse who stops the run. Put Bishop in there and see if he’s learned anything since getting smoked against Houston. Bench Ed Oliver and tell him he sucks and maybe that will light a fire under his over paid ass when he gets back in for the playoffs. I’d only put Kincaid in there if he’s 100%. He’s in a sophomore slump and Knox is a better blocker. We are going to need our run game because Josh can’t go God Mode for 4 straight games. My biggest concern is the D-line. They just don’t have it and unless we see a significant improvement in play, we aren’t going past the division round again. I don’t think it’s the scheme as much as the talent. With all the money and resources we’ve put on that line it’s an indictment of Beane that they are consistently the reason we get bounced in the playoffs. I hope this year is different but I’m skeptical. Oh btw, McD should have definitely declined the penalty against the Rams because it allowed them to run 40 more seconds off the clock. That alone should have made the choice to decline an easy one. I was losing my sht mainly because of that reason. I don’t care if they went for it and made it, it was the time we needed to conserve and that’s where McD consistently screws up. Don’t get me started on the time out.

I’m not a film guy but from my position as Couch GM/HC/OC/DC I see a very vanilla defensive line that depends 100% on DL winning their matchups and 0% on scheme to help them do it. I don’t see many stunts, I don’t see many simulated pressures. All I see is 4 guys rushing, usually a contained rush, and hoping one of those guys wins a rep and gets some pressure. That’s pretty easy to defend against. Would some of you guys please get of Milano’s jock? It’s completely obvious McD is just trying to get him lots of reps now to play himself into game shape and hopefully he’ll be close to the Milano of old by the time the playoffs roll around. It blows my mind that some people think a guy who hasn’t played in over a year is going to come in and be the Milano of old. I’m more than happy to let him get the rust off even if it means contributing to a loss or two. If we can get a healthy Milano playing close to what he used to that’s worth more than 5 Dorian Williams. IDK if it’s going to work out but it’s so easy to see the strategy here I’m surprised many of you don’t see it. Elam must really suck for McD to say “we’ll see” when asked about him. I’ll echo what others have said - it’s not the talent it’s that McD doesn’t trust him to be in the right place all time. He values consistency above all else.

Haven’t read the whole thread but I probably agree with the sentiment that it was horrific game management from McD in the last 3 minutes with the biggest error being the TO. If you are going to accept the penalty on 3rd down, WHY PLAY SOFT ZONE. My god that’s 13 seconds all over again. Just assinine. We lost the game on the blocked punt for a TD when Ferguson got absolutely blown up. Horrible time for that to happen. What’s going to cost us in the playoffs is our D-line is underperforming. Oliver has done nothing, Jones is washed, and we have 23 reserve DTs who suck (Carter being the exception but he’s learning). Same old story.

I’m not too concerned with keeping Kincaid out. I’d keep him out against the Lions too with that horrific turf. Come to think of it, win this game then play all second and third stringers next week against the Lions considering how many season ending injuries we’ve had to key players in that dump.

It’s really weird. Josh can throw a beautiful over the shoulder touch pass to Knox or Cooper, but he has trouble hitting WRs when they are wide friggin open. He missed Diggs several times last year, MVS early this season, and Kincaid got injured due to an overthrow. Bizarre

I’m sorry but this has Go Fund Me scam written all over it. This Kate Glaser got some traction with her pre-game post of this cute kid. I don’t think it was completely made up but I think it was seriously embellished by the mom. There has been zero corroboration from anyone else, and several people who were in the same section have posted here and on social media that they noticed nothing. Mom says the kid was pushed down the stairs, I think that’s complete BS. Dad says she was bumped into the seats and almost fell, I can believe that. That’s a HUGE difference in the narrative though and was worth over 30K in donations to the GoFundMe. Scam.

McD is on the same level as Saint Marv. Yeah, Marv made Super Bowls but he had how many HALL OF FAMERS on both O and D?? McD has done more with less, and 13 seconds was an absolute disaster but that’s the only playoff loss I put solely on him. He’s done some self evaluation and growth while on the same team and that’s ridiculously unusual in the NFL. Usually you need to get fired and figure it out with the next team. There’s no way I would even think of changing this team/culture/vision for an unknown. After the Denver game I was off the McD train but I watched the guy self evaluate and continue to improve his game management. Sure, until we make a Super Bowl there’s going to be the debate but I can’t imagine another coach coming in here and bringing us to the promised land before Josh is out of this prime.

This should be a cakewalk. That means it will be a last second win. I don’t care how it looks, just get the W. If we can’t defeat a beat up 49ers team who’s QB has a bumb shoulder and is missing half their team then we need to reassess our playoff aspirations.
