  1. Zero concern. McBeane put a premium on character and it shows.
  2. I can’t believe all the bellyaching over a 4th round pick to secure a guy Beane clearly wanted. It’s getting to the point of ridiculousness. Some people just can’t help but find something negative about every situation. As for the notebook, it never entered my mind that it would be anything other than authentic. It doesn’t take long listening to Elam to understand he’s an intelligent guy and student of the game. You’d have to be on another level of stupid to think you could bring a BS notebook to NFL coaches and professional scouts.
  3. The best part of the NFL Draft is reading TBD while it’s happening and seeing guys just absolutely loose their sht with each pick. Love the passion!! Clearly, many fans here suffer from years of picking high or in the middle of the draft which makes it even more amusing. From Mock Draft Guy “In my 16 mock drafts I didn’t have this guy going before the 6th round and Beane picked him in the 3rd!! Dooomed!!” To Unrealistic Trade Guy “IDK why we just don’t package a 6th rounder, Moss, Duke Williams and a bag of footballs to move up and get Sauce Gardner” To Iron Maiden and his 108 page Breece Hall thread who ends up going to the JETS HAHAHAHA You guys are what make this draft so enjoyable. Bills fans are the best! Thank you and can’t wait to trade back into the 4th to get a punter!
  4. Oh look, another nickname thread. This one for a guy who hasn’t taken a snap. Yay. Hey, can we come up with an entrance song for him while we are at it
  5. 106 pages and he goes to the J-E-T-S hhahahah love it
  6. It was a perfect situation for Pegs. Once Hochul became governor, there was no way she was going to let the Bills walk on her watch. She’d never be able to visit back home again. Pegula had all the leverage and used it. I no longer have the pleasure of paying NYS taxes, my money goes into the RI black hole which is 10x worse than NY, but I appreciate all you taxpayers coughing up some ducats to keep the Bills in WNY!
  7. God the off season can’t end fast enough You guys are high if you think Edmunds is going anywhere this year No way Beane blows up the middle of our D this year when we are primed for a run. If anything, he will draft Edmunds replacement and let him learn for a year. I can’t wait to see this board melt down when Beane gives him an extension. It will be one of those TBD defining moments. And I’m not a big Edmunds fan
  8. Look at every move Beane makes through the lense of swinging for the fences for the next 2 years. He’s going to make decisions now that have more to do with winning the SB in the next 2 years than making a run 4 years from now. We are going to see a move with Poyer that probably won’t make the most long term sense but will throw him a bone for the next year or two in order to keep the band together.
  9. "Wants to finish his career" means he's not looking to squeeze every last penny out of the Bills. If he's willing to take a reasonable offer Beane will get something done. Won't be for more than 2 years guaranteed even though the contract will 3/4 years blah blah blah.
  10. I don’t see Beane breaking up Poyer/Hyde this season. Might throw Jordan a small bone for the year then I think he’s gone. Bush just needs to shut her yapper. Doesn’t matter how hot she is, somewhere there’s a guy sick of her crap
  11. Not really. It was pretty clear he meant we are getting the Redskins version of Bruce. The Von signing was perfect in so many ways. 1) He’s still a force, he can finish 2) We’ve got young guys who need to develop and Von will be instrumental in teaching them 3) His snaps will definitely be limited in the regular season and then unleashed in the playoffs. This is a no brainer and will allow the young guys to develop and Von to extend is career. If we’ve got an important game or want to continue to beat down the Pats*, his snap count will skyrocket in that particular game. I’d love to see Jerry back on a minimum contract to man that RDE spot. Not sure that’s gonna happen because there are only so many snaps to go around and we’ve got 2-3 young DEs who need to start playing more.
  12. Gilmore isn’t coming here. Some team will pay him 7-9 million and Beane isn’t looking to pay that much for a vet corner. I don’t care about his perceived “attitude”, 2017 was a long time ago and people grow. If we could get him on a below-market deal I’d be all in. Our safeties like to tackle so Gilmore won’t have to.
  13. It’s a defense mechanism a number of posters on here employ. They are so afraid of being disappointed by a loss that they amplify our teams flaws while building up our opponents so if we lose it doesn’t hurt them as much.
  14. Broken = fractured The degree of bone displacement is what determines the treatment. “Hairline fractures” are broken bones that haven’t moved or avulsed. Broken (fractured) ribs are extremely painful and rarely displaced because of the surrounding musculature. There’s nothing to do but wait it out, and to even think of playing football with busted ribs is absolutely mind boggling. Cole was a warrior for us.
  15. I firmly believe this was Beane’s plan all along. He deliberately tendered Bates low because there was an AAV he was willing to match. It’s pretty hard to put in a poison pill in contracts today because of the ease of restructuring other contracts to free up space. So, the only way we were going to lose Bates was if another team overpaid him (Overpaid from Beane’s perspective). Not only that, we have him locked up for 4 years. That wasn’t going to happen at the end of last year when Bates started to prove his worth as a starter as he’d want to hit FA even if its restricted FA. It’s a win win for Bates and us, even though Beane took a calculated risk. It paid off.
  16. I think it’s pretty obvious Beane does not think nearly as much of Bates as most of TBD seems to. He didn’t make a mistake, he deliberately made a low tender offer. He wasn’t trying to sneak Bates under the radar, he doesn’t care that much if someone wants to make Bates a high offer we don’t want to match. I think Bates is gone
  17. Burdensome contracts for a franchise QB who’s top 3 in the league, an all pro corner and a HOF DE on a 3 year deal. Seriously, you can’t beat a Super Bowl contender without a few superstars and you have to pay them.
  18. This is why Edmunds is so valuable and you guys just don’t appreciate his impact. Guys who absolutely smoke him on a big play (Crowder) or critical 3rd down (Johnson) are then targeted by Beane in free agency. He helps identify future talent. 4-D Chess. Beane is a wizard!
  19. You people are high if you think we are taking him at 25. Come on, we are in win now mode. It’s WR or CB, not a busted EDGE when we just signed Miller. Achilles injury is worse than an ACL. It’s a tendon it connects a muscle to a bone, the ACL just keeps 2 bones stable. You never know how these guys are going to recover it’s just not easy to predict like an ACL.
  20. Maybe it’s because we form such an emotional bond with our team that I can’t understand, and don’t believe, that true fans can just cut off their fandom and pick another team to root for and Cleveland has great fans. I think most are just venting. If this were Buffalo and I was that much against signing Watson, I’d just stop watching the Bills and wouldn’t support them with my cash. When they got rid of him, I’d probably be back (but not happy they could make such a stupid move to begin with). There’s no way I could pick another team and say “This is my team now” and feel 1% the passion towards that team. It’s in the blood.
  21. Hahaha Browns gonna Brown. What a clown show. Their hands were forced because of the Mayfield debacle. $230 million GURANTEED?? That is nuts! Who knows if he can even still play at a high level? I thought he was a good QB but come on, he’s probably at the bottom of the Top 10.
  22. PUTTING THE BAND BACK TOGETHER! I’m fine with Phillips/Shaq coming back on near league minimum deals. Bet they play their hearts out now that they got paid by some other teams. Please, oh god please BRING BACK FITZ
  23. Only thing better than the ascension of the Bills is watching the destruction of the Pats* and the bewilderment of the biggest bandwagon fans in sports history (most, but not all of NE fans). Welcome to the rest of the NFL, especially to those fans under 30 or the older fans who didn’t jump on the wagon until Brady started winning. BB is on his way out, he’s obviously still a HOF coach but he’s a crap GM and that is catching up to them. Hartford Patriots again in 10 years
