We will see in the All-22 but even in the last 3 blow outs Dorsey has not gotten them much involved in the game plan outside of being outlet receivers.
-
Eisen sucks as an announcer. I don’t care if he’s a Bills fan (he’s not) he just flat out blows

I think it’s clear that staying in London for 2 weeks was an advantage for Jax and puts the second team at a clear disadvantage. That doesn’t explain Dorsey’s garbage game plan, the complete absences of tight ends from our offense, and the assinine shotgun draw play that he runs constantly.

Roger Goodell said today's game was an experiment??
RunTheBall replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dorsey obviously didn’t sleep all week because his game plan was absolute garbage. Yeah Ken can’t catch the ball but after 3 or 4 three and outs to start the game maybe you scarp your crap plan and open up the offense. Jax took away the short stuff, the TE’s should have been down the seam all night. I’m watching tight ends all over the league catch balls left and right and all we can do is have Kincaid catch a 2 yard out. Knox has regressed but he has some talent. Kincaid was a monster at Utah and all Dorsey has him doing is acting like an outlet receiver. I’m pissed. F the jet lag, this offense sucked and lost us the game. -
Dorsey was a friggin waste product today. I’ve been defending him first 4 games because his game plans were legit and Josh crapped the bed the first game when there were plays to be made. This one was an absolute disaster. He has ZERO ability to utilize the tight ends, can’t get away from the shotgun runs, can’t adjust when his original plan gets stymied. It’s criminal how Kincaid is being used. We don’t even see Knox hit the seams, everything is an out or a dig route. Ask my wife - since Dorsey took over I can call 75% of the plays. That’s absolutely ridiculous and I’m just an armchair Coach/GM. Defensive coordinators don’t have to guess much with Dorsey, we just have better talent than most so we overcome his lack of ingenuity. I’ll give him a few more games because he has shown some growth this season but this game was mostly on him and he f’n sucked.

I’ve been a Dorsey critic last year, a Dorsey apologist so far this year, but this game is 75% on Ken “Shotgun” Dorsey and 25% on the drive killing drops (Knox, Davis, Cook, and Kincaid not reaching for the 1st). Dorsey sucked. This game plan was a failure from the beginning and he should have abandoned it well before 6 mins left in the 4th quarter. Some games you just can’t run, and instead of trying the same shotgun draw over and over he should have ran Allen. I am convinced that if he had told Allen to start using his legs and called designed runs, between he and Diggs they could have won this game ugly. Where was Josh under center?? Where the HELL is Kincaid in the passing game?? Has this guy ever ran a seam route? WTF is Dorsey doing with our TE’s? Knox is invisible and when he’s not, he’s dropping balls. I am rapidly dropping off the Knox bandwagon. Obviously running Josh didn’t happen. I’m disgusted with this offense. There is NO WAY we should only have 7 points after 3.5 quarters. I’m sorry, the Jags have a middle of the road D. They shut us down. Allen didn’t play great, he didn’t suck, he played pretty good. That should be enough to win against F’n Jacksonville. Dorsey flat out sucked. Our D deserves a friggin medal except for Elam who should be shot into the sun. Down 6 starters, guys dropping left and right, and they still were making plays and keeping the team in the game. Yeah, there were more plays to be made but how many red zone turnovers can you force without the offense doing a damn thing to help? Fk London, Fk Goodell, Fk the refs, Fk the turf, fk the Pats*, Fk everything I need another drink. We are on to Cincinnati (New York) PS Don’t get me started on the injuries. If Milano has a combo fracture/ACL that’s potentially career threatening. Daquan Jones is as big a loss as Milano he’s been playing at a pro bowl level.

In terms of Fangio it’s both - his scheme does not match his players so he’s not putting them in the best position to succeed. I know you love stats Beck, which makes me wonder why you conveniently left off Ramsay’s stats for 2022 - Completion percentage of 63% and 7 touchdowns. Not horrible, not shut down. He’s gotten worse each year since 2020 and his reputation is better than his play. Who knows how he’ll be when he comes back. I agree putting Kohou on an island with Diggs was ridiculous, but Xavien Howard hasn’t played well for the last few seasons (yes injuries have played a role) and Idk if he’d do much better against Diggs. I don’t care where Van Ginkel is on the depth chart. If you’ve watched Miami for the first 4 weeks, he’s the only linebacker that’s consistently doing something on the field, which is mainly rushing for him. Baker and Long have been meh.

You are either Maddy or her stalker. This take is laughable. The best you can say is I think she tries hard. That’s about it. The next time I hear an insightful comment from her will be the first time.
-
I disagree. Ramsey hasn’t been a lock down CB for years. Diggs isn’t the only WR to torch him on the regular. It’s pretty clear Fangio is trying to plug players into his scheme instead of devising a scheme around his players. Wilkins is a shell of his former self. Instead of going all in for a contract, it seems like he’s mailing it in. Xavier has sucked for 2 years, Miami’s LB’s are awful besides Van Ginkel who can rush the passer once in a while. Holland is not playing up to his reputation so far but he’s still young. Sure, Phillips was out which affects the other players but overall this Miami D gives up a lot of yards and points. I’d say considering the hype that Fangio received in the off season, so far this D has been a huge disappointment and McD knows he needs to score a lot of points.

I can understand this point of view although I was all in on Von. I’d be interested in who you would have spent that money on more wisely though. Or, is this just you don’t like spending that kind of money for an older DE despite his pedigree? Just curious, as I don’t think signing Von to that contract has really kept us from making any other moves that we wanted to make and our biggest need at the time was some pass rush to get past KC. Sucks that he blew out his knee which was a risk we took.
-
What this tells me is Miami knows their defense is a disaster and can’t be fixed in one season. So, they are loading up on offense and going to try and win by just pouring on points every weekend. They will win a lot of games but get bounced by anyone who slows down their offense.
-
Yikes, I had it wrong I figured it was just a bruise and they were resting him. Guess having a 300 pound DT slam their knee down on your foot does some damage. I think we are fotunate he didn’t break a metatarsal and be out for 8 weeks. Rest him up. Maybe throw in a few Von snaps but hopefully AJE/Kingsley can step up a bit. I think you attack Lawrence the same way as Tua - pressure up the middle, get him off his spot, DE’s play contain to keep him from running.
-
From what I read, I think Jones or Oliver came down on his foot with a knee. If it was broke, we’d know and he’d be on IR.
-
Rousseau has a foot bruise. It will be a game time decision but I bet he plays. They are giving him extra time to rest it. I’d rather not see Von out there but maybe he and Groot split snaps if Groot plays.

Rousseau Injured Foot / Uniforms for Sunday (Question)
RunTheBall replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall
I’d be very surprised if Von plays. If he does, it has to be very limited snaps, like 6-10. Personally I’d like him to sit until next week a the earliest. I don’t see any reason to risk him on turf against an opponent we should be able to handle without him. -
I couldn’t care less about Josh as the MVP unless he gets it because he won the Super Bowl. I despise the MVP talk at the 1/4 pole of the season, I think it’s ridiculous. Play half the games and then maybe start talking about it. The thing with Josh is he makes the extraordinary look ordinary and does it without the flash, eye candy, horizontal BS Mahomes does. I don’t care what national pundits say, but I do appreciate guys like Orlovsky and the QBschool guy on YouTube who point out just how ridiculous some of his normal looking throws really are. It’s definitely under appreciated by those who don’t follow our team like we do. For example, I think it was the first play of the Miami game. He’s drifting to his left and back to avoid a rush and delivers a dime off his back foot over 30 yards downfield to Diggs. After he throws the ball you can see him take 2 more steps BACKWARDS. That’s just not normal. Maybe only Mahomes makes that throw besides Josh. He’s an alien.

I want to see the Edmunds report all season long. If some of you guys don’t want to hear about Tremaine’s (lack) of exploits then don’t click on the F’n link. Why? Because I love following ex-Bills players and see how they are doing. I don’t root against them and often root for them. I was a HUGE Tremaine supporter his first few years. I bought my daughter an Edmunds jersey because I was convinced we had the QB of our defense for a decade. The reason I want to see how they are doing is because I want to see if me, as one of the best armchair GMs in the league and McBeane, as one of the best real Coach/GMs in the league made the right decision. So far, Edmunds is an absolute BUST at 18 million a year. I wanted to keep him at 12 mil, I’m glad that didn’t happen because it’s pretty clear after 4 games that at the MLB position in THIS defense, Bernard looks to be better. So far, the only player I can think of that we let go and shouldn’t have is Teller. Hodkins? Hahah please. The next decision will be Gabe Davis if he doesn’t get extended before the end of the season.

Sure it starts off rules based but in order to develop the correct muscle memory to play fast he has to get to the point where he’s not thinking so much. Again it’s pure speculation on all our parts why he isn’t out there because it’s a fact that he has better physical skills than our other corners. I’m guessing it’s because he’s not playing his zone responsibilities as good as White/Jackson/Benford but, it’s just a guess.

Idk everything McD says is that Kair has acted like a true professional. He’s not going to come out and say he has a crap attitude but at the same time he wouldn’t do the exact opposite and praise his professionalism if it was really an issue. I think it’s highly likely that Elam is taking longer to grab the nuances of a zone D than the team anticipated when we drafted him. He’s got the physical skills, but he’s gotta get the “feel” of the zone like Benford and Bernard have and not be thinking out there too much about where exactly he has to be. One thing about this staff is except for Teller, they don’t give up on players too soon. If Elam gets traded at some point I’m confident it’s because he just couldn’t pick up the system and not for lack of opportunity.

Davis has proved himself a high end #3, low end #2. This is pure conjecture on my part, but I think Davis has an inflated sense of self worth and sees himself as a 1b, mainly because Josh has elevated Davis’ game. If Davis goes to the Giants he’s going to disappear. Beane has a number that he’s willing to sign Davis back for which is less than other teams would likely offer (just like Edmunds) Whether Davis is willing to take less to stay in Buffalo, well, that’s what we are going to find out. If he doesn’t sign an extension in season I think he’s gone unless he tests the market and I’m wrong about other teams being willing to pay him and he comes crawling back.

The missing piece to this offense over the last years has been an effective running game. Yes, I know we’ve run the ball before but I think everyone can see with their eyes that we are more effective this year. The main reason is 1) Upgraded guards 2) Year 2 of Kromer 3) Not trying to run wide zone when gap runs are more effective for us 4) Spencer Brown has not been the disaster everyone predicted (he’s always been good in run game tho) 5) Murray / Harris are awesome signings and I think both will get more involved as the season progresses. As for play action, many were calling for more Josh under center and more PA and the results speak for themselves. PA can be effective without a good running game. I believe it’s more effective, especially on 2nd/3rd and short, if you’ve been running the ball down their throats.

Your weekly reminder that there is no such thing as a trap game, it’s figment of fan’s anxiety and the data prove it doesn’t exist. That being said, Jags won their division last year and even if they didn’t there are MANY players on this team who remember losing to Jax when they sucked. I don’t think this team over looks anyone. They are all business this year and it’s great to see. I expect a closer game than Miami but we will take care of business. I’d like to see improvement on the D side in shutting down the run game better. On O, I expect more of the same balanced attack and Allen playing within the scheme. W

I don’t get the Jags hype. Lawerence has potential but he’s not consistent yet. If we continue to play turnover free football and Josh continues to play within the game plan I don’t think it’s close. Of course, that’s why we play the game so we will see. I don’t take the Jags lightly, I just think they are one of the teams the NFL decided to hype this offseason. Von won’t see the field next week and he shouldn’t. They are going to give him 2 weeks of practice to work his way into form and won’t risk him on an overseas trip on turf.

Tre White Injury Updates (Torn Achilles now confirmed)
RunTheBall replied to Process's topic in The Stadium Wall
That’s a complete rupture and Tre is done for the season. I say that because with a Grade III you feel a pop and that’s what Tre was reacting to when he tossed his helmet. He felt it pop and knew he was done. Heartbreaking. I hope he rehabs again, plays for us again and retires a Bill but I wouldn’t expect him to regain his peak form. Just awful for a wonderful guy, exemplary teammate, and consummate professional. -

That sounds 100% like the troll Filthy Beast. Thank god he gets smacked down like a whack-a-mole every time he pops his head up here now.
