  1. Drudge is trying to talk up the possibility of General Patreaus or as Moveon.org would say General "Betray us" Definitely would be a surprise pick, he could add beef to Romney's Foreign policy, but I'm not sure he would be effective on the stump. Also, could he really attack Obama on Foreign policy? Wouldn't that be controversial? In any case, I'm guessing that's just Drudge stirring the pot.
  2. You do realize that you are responding to someone with the IQ of a turnip?
  3. *sigh* I guess all one can do is just laugh at how we dumb down topics in such a short time span.
  4. I like Jindal. I'm usually in the camp of executive experience, he has a phenomenal record, great on education, meets the threshold of competence and fiscal conservatism. His heritage could also be a plus for independents with the whole "diversity" thing, but he did have that god awful television speech back in 2009.Martinez, I just don't know enough about her, I would imagine that they the press would conjure comparisons between her and Sarah Palin.
  5. You'd like to see Christie as the VP? Who'd you like to see?
  6. Who do you think Romney will choose for VP? And who do you think he will actually choose? I'm torn between Christie, Ryan and Rubio. The more I think about it, the more I'd like to see Paul Ryan as the choice. He is an intellectual powerhouse, a person of substance and he knows how to hammer your policies with a smile. He's also a rust belt native, makes Wisconsin more of a toss up state, and would appeal to independents. If he gets chosen, he will get demagogued to no end as the man who will end medicare. However, with this choice it will be a very clear line of distinction between the two campaigns, and I personally don't believe there is a person out there that can communicate fiscal conservatism as effectively as Ryan, which I believe will help sharpen, fine tune and guide Romney's stump speeches. Having said that, my guess is he will Choose Rob Portman. He is another tremendously substantive individual, another rustbelt native from the state of Ohio, and he did easily carry the state in 2010, and they say he is the best debater in all of politics. Of course, he was the budget director for George Bush, and that in itself is a political loser.
  7. Inspiration vs competence Interesting, I think I'd rather choose competence.
  8. -The Iran-tied telecom firm that paid White House adviser David Plouffe $100,000 in speaking fees is caught up in allegations that it led a campaign of bribery and influence-trading inside the Islamic Republic in order to "steal" a mobile-phone license. The "premeditated program of corruption" allegedly included efforts to arm Iran and secure favorable United Nations votes regarding its nuclear program. The claims were detailed in a lawsuit filed by a spurned competitor earlier this year in U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C. The claims surfaced in U.S. court years after Plouffe, who also served as President Obama's 2008 campaign manager, accepted the speaking fees from South African company MTN Group in late 2010. But the suit alleges that the "corruption" was well under way, dating back to 2004, though MTN has denied the accusations. That suit, filed by Turkish company Turkcell, is sure to get renewed attention following the revelation Monday that Plouffe accepted $100,000 in speaking fees from an MTN subsidiary shortly before joining the White House. Initial reporting noted that the Obama administration and outside groups have since scrutinized MTN's business deals inside Iran but did not focus on the Turkcell case. -http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2012/08/07/firm-that-paid-white-house-adviser-accused-securing-un-votes-arms-on-iran/
  9. I wouldn't characterize him as a troll as much as I would say he's a well-intentioned naive individual.
  10. I have an "extremely credible source" that tells me that they were poor. He could easily dispel this by simply releasing them. What does he have to hide?
  11. This may interest you DC Remember the auto bailout? You know, the one that was done with such a high level of benevolence - Emails obtained by The Daily Caller show that the U.S. Treasury Department, led by Timothy Geithner, was the driving force behind terminating the pensions of 20,000 salaried retirees at the Delphi auto parts manufacturing company. The move, made in 2009 while the Obama administration implemented its auto bailout plan, appears to have been made solely because those retirees were not members of labor unions. The internal government emails contradict sworn testimony, in federal court and before Congress, given by several Obama administration figures. They also indicate that the administration misled lawmakers and the courts about the sequence of events surrounding the termination of those non-union pensions, and that administration figures violated federal law. Delphi, a General Motors company, is one of the world’s largest automotive parts manufacturers. Twenty thousand of its workers lost nearly their entire pensions when the government bailed out GM. At the same time, Delphi employees who were members of the United Auto Workers union saw their pensions topped off and made whole. - Read more: http://dailycaller.com/2012/08/07/emails-geithner-treasury-drove-cutoff-of-non-union-delphi-workers-pensions/#ixzz22rpFVRmt The rest of the article has got lots of internal emails. Btw, I have a new format and I don't see the options to Bold, Underline, Quote like the old format, maybe someone has an answer.

  16. ". I'll be the dick to say it: HOW IS THIS ANY DIFFERENT from the wrath that the right levels at the likes of Clooney, Penn, Robins or any of the other Hollywood liberals that dare speak out about their beliefs in interviews? How many times have I heard from conservatives something along the lines of: "Just shut up and make movies"? " ummm, dude, you are contradicting yourself. Just sayin'
  17. Substantively, I agree. However, this coming from the administration that has been pushing the "secrecy" line of attack and that calls itself the most transparent in history, is a story in itself.
  18. Well, we know that this administration takes Crony Capitalism to a whole new level, which is despicable as it is, then we find out that Jim Messina (Head of Obama's election campaign) most likely broke the law and cut deals with Big PHARMA in order to get their support in the Health Care law in 2009,2010 from his private Email accounts, now we find out that David Plouffe (Obamas right hand man) did business with a group that is under intense scrutiny for its persistent dealings with Iran and Syria. http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/obama-associate-got-100000-fee-from-affiliate-of-firm-doing-business-with-iran/2012/08/05/5e6888a2-dda2-11e1-8e43-4a3c4375504a_story.html
