If La'el Collins drops do Bills take him?
peterpan replied to ALLEN1QB's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I read that the league rules for UDFA limits a teams 'bonus' money to 81k per UDFA class. I believe the contract for a UDFA is for the league minimum, teams are not allowed to pay him more or less. (which would put all teams on an equal playing field I believe). So, how much of the 81k have the Bills spent? How much have other teams spent? That is the only leverage they may have over other teams. Hopefully the Bills didnt spend any of that money and can offer this kid all 81 grand to join our squad. -
Polian critical of Bills not drafting a QB
peterpan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Well at the time of that draft, I told my friends Wilson was a stud and would be a top five pick if he were taller. I also said I would take him too bc I don't care about his height he is that good. So I guess it would also depend on who is calling the shot, ie who is the GM. This applies to the EJ oil as that was pretty I'll-advised. The main point is still true, we will never draft a franchise QB if we never draft QBs. -
Tony Romo talks about Patriots (foot)balls
peterpan replied to VaMilBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I was wondering if anyone else got that reference! -
I for one am jealous of the Eagles approach to acquiring QBs. Maybe it is over kill but I see it simply as having more poles in the water, they are more likely to get a bite. I think the Bills could have done better. I do like the Tyrod signing though.

too bad the sun moves. Fields go North-South so that the east-west sun is never at the end zone. a 1pm start and a 4pm start would have the sun in different places.

Another what-if scenario: Schwartz + Roman
peterpan replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If I were the owner I would have hired Roman as HC and kept Schwartz as DC, rather than the other way around. -
I remember a while back the Vikings somehow circumvented the franchise tag matching rule by stating the Hutchinson was guaranteed to be the highest paid lineman on the team. The Seahawks couldn't match that because their LT was all pro and was making more money. Maybe the bills could do the same with luck!

And some people will always defend a cheater, even after multiple and repeated issues. -
the Bills new spread offense attack
peterpan replied to BackInDaDay's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
also SF did not run a spread offense when smith was there. They didn't go full boar into it until kaeps first full season as starter. -
Marrone passed on him in the draft? MAKE THE TRADE NOW HE MUST BE A STUD!!!!!! In all seriousness, from what I saw of him in college and pre seasons, I see no reason why he couldn't beat out cassel or tyrod taylor or EJ.

Best team in the NFL if you take out the QB position
peterpan replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
OL still weak. Doesnt matter what toys we have when there is no gasoline! -
Tim Tebow Working Out With Eagles
peterpan replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I do not disagree. HOWEVER, I think we can both admit that, at most, there are 10 guys in the NFL right now who are capable of doing those 5 yard drops at a SB level. My point is, maybe, just maybe, some team should try something else. That way, we arent hoping to be one of the 33% of teams that luckily has a QB who can do it! TRY SOMETHING ELSE!!!!! Or else you might have a team that goes 15 seasons without making the playoffs. And he never started a game with the JEts, thats not a second chance. And Flutie led the Bills to a 10–5 record, The Bills haven't matched that record since. -
Chris Borland retiring after rookie season with SF
peterpan replied to frogger's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have had a number of concussions and they do mess you up. But if I had the chance to make that kind of money, and I was that worried about getting another hit to the noggin, I would just make sure I was a backup, not a starter. come to camp over weight, dont study or prep as hard, be relegated to 2nd team and then no more hits to the head AND you get to take home half a mil a season for the next 3 years. -
Tim Tebow Working Out With Eagles
peterpan replied to The Real Buffalo Joe's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Took a 1-4 team to the playoffs and then won a playoff game, in OT, by throwing an 80 yard TD pass. How is that not doing anything??? And what was his 'second chance'??? Never started another game after that season. That first bolded part is completely untrue. Regarding the second bolded part - The Broncos lead the league in rushing behind Tebow. Is that not what we intend to do this season? Tebows strength is not his passing, its his rushing attack. I know every fan gets stuck in this NFL Football mold, but there is a lot more to football than just the 5 yards drops you see in the NFL (yawn). Tebow is not the typical NFL QB nor will he ever be. But he is the best ever at what he does. He has proved he can win in the NFL with HIS style. All it would take is a coach willing to commit to that style of offense. Chip Kelly is as close as Tim will get to what he needs and he should get a chance their with Bradford lol -
Do the moves by the Bills in free agency make sense so far?
peterpan replied to jahnyc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are no building a ground and pound team like the steelers of old. We are going to be a shotgun spread team with a lot of pistol looks like Seattle and San Fran (last year). That would explain all of the signings (Harvin, tyrod Taylor) -
Thoughts outside the box: Move Hogan to CB
peterpan replied to BringBackFergy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the idea of Mario being a red zone/goal line TE like JJwatt. No one could cover that! -
Rumor: Pats* targeting Stevie Johnson.
peterpan replied to Bubba Gump's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seriously??? Brady stands there lock-kneed, starring down a receiver, with no pressure whatsoever, until someone gets open on a drag route. SJ would have 120 receptions in that offense -
Harvin signs w/ Bills: 3 yr / $24M (voids to 1 yr / $6M)
peterpan replied to johnwalter's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I know Bills fans are happy we have all these new shinny toys to play with, but all these toys dont tend to win many games. I feel like the Redskins or something, signing and trading for these older vets. We still have no QB and a weak OL. How does Percy Harvin and McCoy give us better OL play? They dont. Without better OL play we are not going to have a strong ground game, I dont care how good McCoy is, he cannot block for himself. Harvin wont be able to throw it to himself. How is he going to be an upgrade to Hogan in that regard (Not returns, etc) Hogan is nothing special but on a team with a legit QB he would sure look at lot better than he is. Our WR core was fine, especially with the big investment in Watkins. RBs didnt need a superstar we needed a late round Rookie or some budget vet to fill in with Freddie and Boobie, behind what should have been to focus of the Offseason - a much improved OL. I dont understand the drive to upgrade the skill position here; we gotta land some O Lineman for petes sakes. -
Jordan Cameron. wisniewski, former raider, could play G or bump Wood to G. That is a last resort option This is mainly moot though, as I would have came out swinging for both Boling and James Carpenter when they were still available. Both are good, boling better, Carpenter underrated. I would have inked one depending on contract. Carpenter went to the Jets, so I dont think he would have thumbed his nose at Buffalo.
-
What about wisniewski formerly of the raiders?? He was decent at C, could be a soild backup or G, could move Wood to G, it gives us options. He is getting looked at in Seattle. If he is good enough for Seattle he is good enough for me.

I'd probably take murry over McCoy straight up bc of running style but murry gets more injured I guess? I wouldn't have traded Kiko :-(

Spiller could help the Bills win in 2015 after all
peterpan replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Id love it for us and I would love it for CJ. I think he would excell there. m -
I am of the opinion that the role that Grey and Clay could play, is much different than the type of TE (Seam threat and Red Zone Threat) that the Bills really need. I would like to see a 6'5 250# TE signed for that role, and let Grey be the H back type. We signed that FB from Minny, so I dont think we really need 3 players like that.

Patience Grasshopper (Brandon Spikes)
peterpan replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO Spikes is a player who is more valuable in Rex's D than in Schwatrz. Also, after loosing Kiko, I thought he would become more needed. As of right now Manny Lawson is one of our starting LBs, right? That doesn't sit too well with me. Id rather see Spikes in there and maybe Bradham playing more outside. With the blitzes and schemes, you can hide Spikes weaknesses (pass coverage) and use his strengths (blitzing, run stuffing). I think Bradham could be successful outside too. -
Tight End!
