I was just wondering about that. Is the “surprise” onside kick totally dead? I believe it was Saints/Colts Super Bowl they opened a half with the surprise onside kick. If you line up for an onside kick, can you decide to pick it deep? How does that work?

I think that’s exactly why it should NOT be changed. It gives ANOTHER giant advantage to the teams with stud QBs and makes it that much harder for the 25ish teams that don’t. i do think something needs to change regarding the onside kick. Something that doubles or triples the likelihood of success to 15-20%. Idk what that is exactly but! also, I can imagine a scenario where a coach like Dan Campbell has a QB like Allen and never kicks off and instead let’s “Allen” ball out on 4-15 every single time.

That bears job may not be so bad for Brady. They have some good offensive talent. Hire Jim Schwartz as your DC and you’re all set lol

We really need to do something about the size of our defensive players. 6-1 and 290 is tiny for a DT. I would bet that makes him the smallest starting DT in the league. Behind him are three small LBs. Bernard has to be the smallest starting MLB. It’s one to have one small player here or there. It’s another to have small tiny players at every front 7 position. We just can’t overcome it

This has been a big part of our D failure the entire McD era. When you rush four and play zone, you better have a HOFer on that DL to bring constant pressure. And despite all the effort, we don’t have any beasts on the DL. Chiefs have Chris Jones, that dude is a game wrecker.

The D always folds against the good teams. They look good padding their stats against bad teams. And having Josh run up the score aure helps.
