  1. Maybe the problem is they always practiced agaisnt each other? So the two of them going agaisnt each other gave the illusion they were good?
  2. Carolina sign D Florence this week, and started him. They won 38-0. Even if we still suck, I'd like the team to be proactive in their sucking, rather than content with it. Go out and sign people!!!! We have been thin at CB since Gilmore went down.
  3. And our schedule gets alarming tought until after our bye week too.
  4. Why wasn't Geno Smith an option? He looked like an NFL QB today. EJ just lookeds like a big athletic guy.
  5. The Panthers are decimated at CB just like we are. They went out and signed Drayton Florence and brought someone up from their PS. Both started today. AND THEY BEAT THE GIANTS 38-0. How come 1) the Bills cannot go out a resign a Drayton FLorence say, when Gilmore breaks his wrist and is going to miss 8 weeks, or 2) Have their depth players actually be servicable? Just because he is 4th string doesnt mean he has to totally suck and be a huge liability and make it near impossible to operate a defense with him out there. So last year we had Levitre, Urbik, Rinehart, and Brown. We lost Levitre and Rinehart. So basically our 4th best G from last year is now starting. Now that is a great plan. If they didnt want to spend loads of money on a gaurd, why not keep Rinehart? He did OK in spot duty, and is clearly better that Brown. He always stunk. I feel like TJ Grahams career stats are as follows: Targets: 93 Catches: 4 Drops: 5 Fumbles: 2 I cannot figure out why he is on the team, why he was drafted, and why we traded up to draft him. I'd rather get Da'Rick Rogers back on the roster. Today it was perfectly clear we need someone with size who can be more physical. We also need a TE. There were better recievers available.
  6. and after all of the shotgun, the last two plays, from about the 2, WHERE BOTH FROM UNDER CENTER!!!!! I was laughing my arse off. We have 5 plays from under center all day and two of them are with 30 seconds left int he game, when they know we are going to pass? WTF!?!?!?! I was actually thinking that the fans should buy Hacket a playstation so he could hit square for the "ask madden" playcalling tool. That could really help him.
  7. The NFL has changed but the Bills still draft RBs like OJ is still in his prime and TEs like they are just small guards used to block. How many ex basketball players do we have to watch turn into all pro TEs before the Bills draft one? Jimmy Graham has lit it up for years, and that Cameron kid in CLE is becoming dominant too. And we passed on Gronk for Gods sake. NOTE TO THE BILLS: a good tight end is extremely important to a top tier offense. Yea, you would think if the plan was to run an inside handoff for 35% of our offensive snaps, then they would actually value the G position.
  8. I dont think it was 'called' all that often. I think its the only thing Manuel is comfortable throwing. He just wants to get rid of the ball so he just throws it up there. He could sit in the pocket and find someone else but he seems scared IMO. And they are incredibly ugly balls. In fact, he is a pretty ugly thrower in general. Yea, whats with that? He tosses up these baby floaters. NO confidence in his arm
  9. I was happy for the PI because it stopped the clock. If Stevie caught it I think he would have been tackled short, and Im not sure we would have spiked it in time to get a TD out of it. the PI penalty was better than the completed pass. We also got very lucky for the two drops on the drive. CJ and Freddie each dropped one pass, where they woulda gained almost no yards and been tackled in bounds. If only one was caught we likely run out of time before scoring.
  10. TJ hasnt shown any reason, to me, why he was even drafted. No seperation, no hands, doesn't make people miss. IDK, doesn't seem to be much of a football player, more of an athlete.
  11. We must have a new DB coach. Someone that taught McKelvin some ball skills. Also, A. Williams is playing well at SS, that #37 is playing really well. I like what I am seeing from our D!!!
  12. I have been extremly impressed with that Roybi guy #37. He covered Edleman/Amendola like a blanket and was pretty good yesterday. McKelvin is playing lights out. We must have a new DB coach because he learned how to make a play on the ball. With Gilmore and Byrd our D could be scary good.
  13. Its better than the new Dolphins logo
  14. Well said. PS: There was nothing condemning on those Watergate tapes either, Nixon told me once. Honest. I saw an interview by an Eagles player once, which was recorded in the locker room right after their SB against the Patsies. Forget the player, I think it was a DB, but with an almost dumbfounded look on his face, he said something along the lines of "Man, for every shift we made, they had the near-perfect adjustment. It was amazing - it was like they were in our huddle, like they knew what coverages we were going to run, where we were blitzing from. Wow, it was surreal" I obviously paraphrased but you get the idea. I wonder if I could find it on youtube.
  15. It was more a hypothetical question rather than mathematical. Like how can the Eagles afford to give Vick 100 mil, while having MCOY AND JACKSON ON 2ND CONTRACTS, JEREMY MACLIN, AND STILL F AFFORD TO PAY Peters the contract which we couldnt afford. Sorry for the typing I Im on a tBlet which sucks balls
  16. Can someone clear up the cut block rules in the NFL for me? ( I get the no cut blocks while engaged thing) Its legal for O lineman and RBs etal, and I even saw a few thrown by a QB this weekend without flags thrown. In Pop Warner they taught us to throw ones like Suh did, so it was legal back in the day.....
  17. I think Leo is great, always was. He played great for us his first tour, and he was great this week. There is a reason coaches keep bringing him around. After he left here, he went to Balt, started for them and returned punts, then he followed Rexy Ryan to the Jest, then Pettine here. Its not the front-office know it alls, its the coaches. IMO that says something.
  18. Id be pretty certain that he just likes that play and how it looked vrs them that he just called it again.
  19. I want to know how a team with so few stars on it is as close to the cap as we are. How can teams like the 9ers, Cowboys, Giants, Eagles, Packers, Pats (before this year) keep all of their players around while we cannot?
  20. After watching the vision and patience of LeSean McCoy on Monday Night, I am even less thrilled with Spiller. This has been the case with Spiller his entire career, but he can't break tackles, not even arm tackles. McCoy looked worlds better. Darned. And whether it was Freddie, or how the Pats played our Offense when we switched up backs, it was obvious Freddie was producing better. Gotta go with the hot hand, Spiller had a bad day and Freddie a good one, go with Freddie. That is on the coaching staff.
  21. Maybe if Russ was less concerned with uniforms and marketing he could do something to benifit the football aspect of the bills. Or, maybe not.
  22. Now I remember why I stopped coming to this board. All of the regulars act like they know everything and talk down to people who bring up factual points. You get your panties in a bunch and get all defensive and make ridiculous assumptions and put words in other peoples mouths. I didn't even bring up Levitre. I didn't say we would have run better with him. SO why make it seem like I did or assume that's what I meant? And to say Wilfork didnt impact the game is asinine? Wilfork impacted the game yesterday severely, he moves the LOS into the Bills backfield a yard or two on 90% of the snaps. You cant win a football game that way. AND he has been a huge player for the patriots for a decade - the same decade where they have steamrolled the Bills twice a year. You must not understand the grand scheme of football to think that Vince Wilfork isn't one of the best players in the league and has been destroying out OL for ten years.
  23. If this was 2001 I would agree with you, but 13 (or is it 14 now?) years of this stuff, it wears on you. "Heres the new boss, same as the old boss......."
  24. Where are you guys getting the 4 ypc stuff? NFL.com has spiller and jackson at 30 total carries for 108 yards or 3.6 ypc. I thought our run game stunk. We got no movement on 3/4s of the plays and it resulted in no gains, or one yard gains or losses, way too often. That doesn't happen to teams that make the playoffs. And Colin Brown got torched on one pass play killing a drive on 3rd down (I forget if it ended up a sack or not) On a related note I think most Bills fans are accustomed to sub-par play so when they see sub-par play they think its pretty good. Like Colin Brown, how many playoff teams do you think this guy would start for? My guess is zero. Scott Chandler, many bills fans I talk to say he is 'good enough' for a TE. Well go look at the teams that make the playoffs every year - Chandler would be 2nd or even 3rd string on those teams. Stop accepting average if you ever want to make the playoffs again. We were gifted a TD (seary's recovery after the dude just drops the ball without being touched) and gifted another turnover at the 1 yard line (Brady drops the snap) and we still cannot win. Thats one of the worst games I've seen the Patsie play in the last ten years and we still lost is traditional Bills fashion. Woof. Is this a typo? Wilvork was a huge factor, pun intended.
