4 sacks and 5 picks with 3/4s of our starting DBs out of the game. That is against a QB who just won a SB and got a 120 million dollar contract.

Playcalling aside, do you still think the gameplan stunk? With EJ under center and the FB in blocking, we actually established a running game. We came out and ran it right at them, then used play action to get guys open deep. I thought that fit our personal perfectly. We ran for over 200 on Baltimore's D, Thats really darn good. Plus EJ missed some big throws (the INT and another earlier that coulda been an INT) and two of his best throws were overturned with replay (Chandler and Woods 2nd TD). We killed ourselves with penalties in the 2nd half too. I think the gameplan was great, execution was good, playcalling still needs some work, but at least they were using some real play action and called some running plays that werent an inside handoff. They had their moments today (ie the end arounds/Lee Smith fall-down).

Still no pics or youtube vids? What gives? PS: I can almost guarantee the cause of this issue was some beech flushed a tampon. Don't ask me how I know. PPS: I still dont want a new stadium because I cannot afford PSLs or the higher taxes.

"He is supposed to let the WR catch the ball and run for a TD in order to achieve higher TV ratings" Rodger Goodell.

They set up that Lee Smith play very well two, running the end around twice during the game prior to the pass.

They're putting Fitz in the Titans game
peterpan replied to Beebes Bubble's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He most certainly was part of the problem here. Not all of the problem, but certainly part of it. I still hope he does well, at least this week. After this week, I hope the Titans lose out, they could take a WC spot from us!! -
I think they NFL needs to change their catch rule. Both the Woods TD and the Fumble that Leonard recovered, are catches in every facet of life except the NFL. Woods caught the ball, then the D player punched the ball forcing it to move in his grasp, BUT HE NEVER EVEN REMOTELY LOST CONTROL. But since it moved, it is considered that they don't have complete control. Woods had complete control of that football. I think the rule needs to be changed to reflect that. The Fumble that wasn't was very similar, the guy caught the ball, turned up field, tucked the ball and ducked his head. He had the ball, he had it controlled, but it was getting forced out by a defender at the same time he was getting his two feet down. Neither player lost the ball before getting their 2nd foot down. The way they call it these days, a WR can't even switch hands with the football too quickly after catching it bc it will be ruled he never had complete control. I think the rule needs to be changed.

Aaron WIlliams too. Both he and McKelvin have really turned it on this year. I bet its coaching

Canfora on Byrd, Carrington, Parker: Is this new info?

Should I be offended? -
Finally a good game plan from our OC. The first 3 weeks we were in the shotgun all day, and could not establish a running game with those stupid inside handoffs. Well we finally made the switch. Putting EJ under center really allowed up to establish a running game against a pretty good front. Our usually outplayed OL got some good push and took the fight to the D, which they weren't doing from the shotgun. The running game gave EJ lots of great opportunities out of play action. Some of the throws were under thrown, but he was clearly more confident in this scheme rather than the all-day-long shotgun. He looked like a totally different QB, it was noticeable in his throws. Now, this has happened before with the Bills. We go a couple games wondering why they aren't running or using play action or doing this or that, only to have them finally do it and it works great!!! But then? THEY REVERT BACK TO WHAT DOESNT WORK!!! N. Hackett: Please re use this type of glam plan the rest of your career in Buffalo :-) PS, Also tell EJ that it is OK to overthrow long balls, but not OK to under throw them.

The Bills coaches don't come into work Monday morning and update the Bills website for the proper depth chart. That is put together by the media department. Carry on. -
This board is almost unreadable after a loss

There was a very scientific study done on NFL fans recently by UB students. Obviously being done by UB they focused on Bills fans. This was their conclusion: -
EJ vs. Russell Wilson's First 3 NFL Starts

His Mechanics are horrid. Absolutely atrocious. Where you being sarcastic? -
So the Bills arent trying to win now? When will they start trying to win? And when has a quality backup tackle been something that teams who aren't trying to win yet, want to avoid? Face it, the Broncos have a good FO, consisting of a good GM, good scouts, and it results in good drafting. The Bills haven't had any of that since the 90s. That's why our roster stinks and theirs is dynamite. Their dynamite roster also helped them land Manning

which is the good one from Miami?

Who we will then promptly not pay and let leave via FA because LGs are worth it!?!?!

Will we pay Glenn or trade him ala Peters bc we dont want to pay a LT 11 mill a year? (which Glenn is showing he will be worth)

WSJ Blurb - Want to win - Don't draft a top tailback
peterpan replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
MJD, Ray Rice, McCoy, J Charles, Eddie Lacy, these guys were top running backs in college, who happened to fall out of the first part of the 1st round, or into the 2nd, or third, etc etc etc. Then there are studs to servicable starters all over this league who went undrafted. Our own Freddie J comes to mind. Those are the guys you target. You cant take a RB early but you should in the 2nd or 3rd. Sign an undrafted guy or two every year and see if one in 3 years sticks. But then you have to take them when they are available, you cant force your hand in a year that you need a RB. In hindsight we could have kept J. Bell. He did very well for us in pres season and is now producing for the Lions. Also good FA RBs become available quite often. Reggie Bush is on his third team for example. Marcus Lattimore is a guy who I think the Bills should have scooped up as Freddies replacement. Or else in a year or two we will be drafting a 1st round guy to replace him. -
All time worst single game performances by a single player
peterpan replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
We are just throwing familiar names out there. I admit the best option is probably someone we have never heard of, but acting like there isn't a better CB on this planet looking for a job is stupid. And thats what the Bills seem to be doing. -
One reason why the Bills OLine are injury prone
peterpan replied to Dean Cain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Most colleges require it. I'd make my OL wear them, and my interior/not speedster types on the DL wear them as well. Im not doctor but maybe a brace could have prevented Carringtons quad tear? (Which is season ending) It looked like it was at or around the knee. PS: I also think we get injured more often because we are either out of shape, or less athletic, or both, than other teams. Face it, when you are out of shape you get lazy and lathargetc and get into more injury prone situations. When you are more athletic you can avoid those situations. It leads to more injuries. Remeber when Wood had that horrible leg injury? He was blocking and got roled up on by someone from the Jags who was making a sack. Well, if our RT was a better blocker, and didnt allow that sack - boom, Eric wood wouldn't have broke his leg -
Tell me more about drafting CBs...
peterpan replied to OCinBuffalo's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Honestly, McKelvin has been a liability to this defense outside of the first two games of this year. And you know what? Even after drafting unlimited amounts of DBs, particularaly in high rounds, we still have a depleted secondary. Its some what contradictory to say you need to draft DBs high if you want a good defense, and then use the Bills defense as an example. -
I dont think we have been running the read option much this year. The first two games and the first part of this week, the OL wasn't blocking it the way you would block on a read option. At least on the plays that I focused on the OL that was the case(because its so easy to predict when we are runing the inside handoff lol) I noticed more read option looks during the 2nd half or maybe final 3 quarters yesterday. But EJs reads were awful. He only ran it once and he should have been running it nearly every time. I guess it doesnt matter though, their D was able to stop our RBs without the backside end even pursuing. It is very very ugly.

Forget Levitre. If we didnt want to spend big money on a guard we coulda resigned Chad Rinehart for peanuts and he coulda been starting. He was at least servicable the last couple years in spot duty. Colin Brown was always awful. There is no excuse for losing two of your top three Gs Exactly. Losing Levitre doesnt mean we cant sign someone else. and FWIW - Rinehart replaced Vasques in SD. (not sure if he is starting or not though). Aka SD lost their G and replaced him. We didnt. Also another good point about our FO being horrible. As if we didnt already know that.
