Is Kyle Williams the problem with the run defense?
peterpan replied to BuffaloPride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
NO - and there is a very simple reason as to why. The Bills, as a team, stink, however Kyle Williams is one of the few players that have been worth keeping around. It is that simple. KW is good, very good, but its a team sport. The Bills have sucked forever but KW has been the only person worth keeping around. Since 2006, the Bills TEAMS have been horrible. Bad players, bad coaching, bad everything. Actually this goes back further than 2006, which helps prove my point - its not KW's fault. Every other McCargo, Tripplett, etc, that has been cut - its their fault -
and they still win
-
Next time KW should just but his helmet into his chin and send the POS flying (which is what their guy did to Kiko when he should have been catching the ball) If you are going to get a 15 yard penalty, get a 15 yard penalty!
-
I haven't watched either of those guys but I have been screaming for a TE for 10 years, and I am still waiting.
-
I see this as great news. Maybe the Bills really have a competent FO now!?!?!

I have stated in multiple threads that Nate Soldier holds like that or worse on EVERY SINGLE PLAY. He never gets called. EVER BUt I cant believe teh Saints let them hang around

OK, I just do not get the logic behind the goal line formation. First, the offense gets their biggest 9 (not the QB or RB) guys on the field and places them shoulder to shoulder with no measureable splits. Then the D gets their biggest 9 guys on the field and puts them all right up agaisnt each other to defend the offense (only the CBs usually are outside of the box) So we now have aproximately 2 1/2 tons of human being in a very small area, and somehow Fred Jackson is supposed to run straight into that mess and score a TD after handing it off to him ssssslllloooowwwllllyyyyyy. I really just dont get it. I know every team does it but I dont get it. It has such a lower success rate I dont know why teams continue to do it. We marched right down the feild by spreading teh D out. SO why stop doing it at the 1??? It would be easier to spread out 3 WRs, and keep the D's base or nickle package on the feild, and then do a QUICK handoff up the middle, while using larger splits. That way, there is actually SPACE for the RB to go with the ball, and not a couple tons of human. Doing it quickly is key, so that a guy like Kiko cannot read the play and get there in time to stuff it. Sorry for the rant.

The defense and the supposed depth at WR
peterpan replied to bills44's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I saw him make one play to bat down a pass over the middle. I thought he shy'ed away from contact v. the run. That could be just me though Other than that I dont think he affected the game much. -

He also couldn't tackle anyone. The D improved when Moats went in. -

I disagree. He was very visible. In a bad way -
I was more impressed with him today than I have been with EJ. Put your draft bias aside. The ball on the non-call was a great toss too. I think it was to Goodwin or Woods?

Gilmore looked bad today and so did Bradham. Why was Moats ever replaced? He looked good all year long. Bradham was pretty terrible. Gilmore didn't look comfortable with his wrist, avoiding contact and such. He played two screens very poorly. Both were replaced (for the most part) mid way through the third. Goodwin looked good in his first game back. Easly deserves a chance IMO. We need a bigger body out there. Legurskey was head and shoulders above Brown. Remember that serious we got the ball around the 50 after a 3 and out (off of mormans 1/2 yrd punt). If you dont, 1st down was a 3 yard lose on a screen pass, 2nd down was a sack, and then third down didn;t matter. Brown was the reason for 1st and 2nd down. Hahaha. They didnt put him back in that I noticed -
I was thinking starter lol

The decline of Stevie Johnson ?
peterpan replied to Buffaloed in Pa's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
There is a not-so-fine line between a player who should be in the Hall of Fame and a very good player who should not be cut. -
Trade Steve Johnson to Atlanta if the offer is right?
peterpan replied to Dean Cain's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL that Stevie isnt a #1 reciever. Sure he isnt 6'5'' but no one can cover the guy. The only thing holding him back is a bad QB -

The best way to build a team is by trading your proven veterans for mid round draft picks. The Bills have proven this to work. We are constantly making the playoffs. We should keep trading our proven talent for mid round picks. -
Lots of teams have good/decent backup QBs. Please note that Good/decent is a relative term for backup QBs The Packers had Aaron Rodgers as Farves backup, then Matt Flynn who passed for 500 yards or some crap when he played and then signed two big deals as a FA. Dallas has Kyle Orton as their backup and had Jon Kitna before him. The Titans went out and signed Fitz, whom we cut. Kolb was going to be our guy but honestly, I dont see why we didnt keep T Jax. He was cheap and fits the mobility mold we have in EJ. I dont want to see Tuel running any read option looks.
-
I wouldn't trade him unless it was a great deal for us, like a 1st rounder or two higher round picks minimum. I dont care if we get nothing this offseason for him. (but I would tag him again, so thats moot too). All the Lynch trade got us was freaking Chris Hairston. Whoopy-freakin-do. Take a hard stance and maybe even get him resigned if not franchise him again and trade him next offseason, again for some good picks.

Why do people want to bring in Dixon or White to run a completely run-oriented O and not giving any consideration to Tebow? I know Tebow has been beaten like a dead horse around here but he has at least proven that he can win while doing it. The other option which may not be such a bad idea, assuming EJ will be out for closer to 8 weeks, is just let Tuel bring in the loses and then get a high draft pick- which hopefully will be clowny.

Yea Oher plays RT. I'll go with the off-the-screen answer of Brian Orakpo.

Have you seen Cameron out there? Dude is a STUD.

someone with twitter can post this one: "I don't always drink with Kiko Alonso, but when I do, I check to make sure my balls are still there"

Highest Rated QB: Travaris Jackson

T Jax woulda been a good backup. We shoulda kept him I think. But in the grand scheme of things its a fart in the wind.
