Is Urbik really worse than Williams at G? He was pretty good the last two years. Better than Williams has been it would seem. Why cant we get him on the field and give him a shot?

The Chargers, Rivers and Antonio Gates
peterpan replied to PS 56's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Chargers will be ready for a let down game. West coast to east coast travel plus its statistically unlikely for Gates to be as successful this week. Turn overs will win the game again. EJ needs to make those Red Zone passes count though. Chargers are the best team we have faced. -
I still think we need a real play maker at TE. That will help us all over the field but particularly on the red zone. Six FG attempts is too many. 3 or 4 of those need to be TDs!! Anyone who saw the Denver game later saw the impact j thomas had early and often. We NEED. To address TE in the draft. We can no longer pass on the Gronks and the Grahams etc.

Goodwin and tj offer the same skills but goodwin is light years better. And goodwin barely played yesterday. I doubt we see graham at all this season.

Marrone yells to Russ "go ahead and fire me"
peterpan replied to papazoid's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am surprised by how many fans are looking down at Marrone over this. Maybe its because how this story was force fed to them? You had to read the whole article to get to the quoted part above. Considering the last heated exchanged happened when the FO brought in Palmer, it makes sense that these outburst happen over disagreements on personnel. This quote makes it fairly obvious. SO why are people defending out scouts and FO when those people have been here for the last 15 years? Kouandijo stunk and Seantrell is much better - why should CK get more time just to save face for a terrible scout?? What has Robert Woods done to earn time over Watkins or Mike Evans?? (nothing). Urbik played well in the past but the consensus on here was that he struggled this season. Why why are we blaming Marrone for doing what needed to be done?? -
I knew he would be a stud. I didnt say SB Champ because Kelly and Marino didnt win it, but I knew he was going to be great. Top 5 pick hands down (and he would have been if he was 3-4 inches taller)

It isn't just Kouandjio not starting....

I really have to wonder how these guys get rated sometimes. Greg Robinson was a road Grader but he was never an elite LT prospect. Then on draft day the Rams said they planned to start him out at G because he was so raw. Ummmm what? You admit he isnt good enough to play LT right after drating him 2nd overall? Im not surprised. Meanwhile Jake Mathews was a stud from the get go. Everyone knew it going back 2-3 seasons. He is starting at LT for a much better team. Its obvious who St. Louis should have taken, if they wanted a T. Same goes for EJ really. He was never worth a 1st round pick and everyone here knows it. Bills thought they were smarter than everyone else and reached for a middle round prospect. -
One of my favorite movies which I cant find anymore. Id love to get a copy of it

Over/under for Orton starts this season
peterpan replied to Bills Fan since '64's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills have an easy schedule but I dont see us doing better than starting 2-5 and at that point I think you have to bench EJ. -
Playoffs now. Screw developing a potential QB who has looked like poo so far. I be we start 1-3 or 1-4 and Orton finishes a game or two before taking the starting nod. The FO and coaches want to WIN. And they need to make sure that Witkins traded draft pick isnt in the top 5

Who cares what the Bills thought. They are never right. This team is no where near ready to tear down that 7-9 wall -
It's Timothy Richard time...for the love of god!

What about the one where he took over for a 1-4 team, finished the season 7-4, won a playoff game, and lead the NFL in rushing offense?? -

Tebow did it great in 2011. Lead the league in rushing. You already quoted my post above where I explained just that. -

I didnt say anything like that and am confused by your statement? -

Compared to EJ? YEP! Also, dont forget what Tebow brings in the running game. And I dont just mean his yardage -

The reason no one wants Tebow is because they don’t want to develop a scheme that works for him. He is a unique talent. These coaches are all very success- having reached the NFL – and they want to do it ‘their way’ They have ‘their’ schemes and then force players to play into ‘their’ schemes. For example, Marrone doesn’t like CJs running style and Stevie’s routes. So they trade one guy and are already replacing another. Gailey didn’t like Lynch and got rid of him. This saga goes on and on. It would be more pertinent to develop schemes that work for the players you already have, or could have. Like Tebow. We could easily sign him. We would have to change our offense yes, because Tebow would suck in a pass heavy offense, but he would be great in a read-option offense. Unfortunately no scheme will work for EJ because he sucks so bad. Denver lead the league in rushing under Tebow. This is because of Tebow, not in spite of him. His option plays allowed the backs to be more successful. The Bills, with our RBs, could EASILY lead the league in rushing this year. With our D, we could win a lot of close games. That won’t happen with EJ, but it could, and would, with Tebow. -

His last year starting was his first year start and thus, his only year starting. He went 7-4 and then won a playoff game after taking over for a 1-4 team So to say 'until he didn't' is factually incorrect. -

Part of me hopes Bon Jovi gets the team and moves them. Then I believe my curse will end. And I can stop following this team. That has to do with the QB, not the OL -
