I would go the other way. Holding happens way too often and should be penalized more. It should be a loss of down and 10 yards from the spot of the foul - which assumes the player would have been tackled at the spot of the hold or sooner. The O should not get a re-do by getting the down back.

That is not what happened in this case. It was a scrum. Who emerges from the pile is who gets the ball. If it wasn't whistled dead and one team awarded the ball before the pile, then the pile should and does determine who gets the ball.

Almost as bad as the Goodwin catch a few weeks back. And on the TD pass to Welker in the Denver game last night. The refs just make up a random spot to put the ball. At least in the Denver game the ref from the other side of the field ran over and called it a TD. It was obviously a TD.

Why do you want to bench Henderson all of a sudden? To me 90% of our troubles are the Gs. Sign incognito and start him with Urbik, problems solved. Then sign a backup center if you feel you need one.

The stubbornness regarding the G position may cost this team the playoffs and Marrone and Whaley their jobs. Helloooo, Incognito is a crazy man but he is one of the better guards in the league and a free agent. SIgn him and start him. Urbik was way better than Richardson and Pears for the past few seasons.
