Ravens week 4 Haikus
DefenseWinzChampionshipz replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Take this pain away Let's just shoot steroids this game Only way to win! -
If and ONLY if we win, that will be a huge game brother. I go in to every game with the hope of winning but this Baltimore defense hasn't allowed an offensive TD since week 1. Definitely a big test for EJ. CJ is my boy too but I think Freddy needs to get the start in this game. Power running will be the key to get some yards. Then maybe, just maybe that will light a fire under CJ's culo...
-
Well then we should do what the Colts did. If we as an organization feel like we have our franchise QB, then what would it hurt to give up draft picks to get a star player? JJ Watt will definitely require 2 1st round picks and they will never get rid of him so forget that idea, but other holes can be filled. Maybe we can give up a 1st to get Levitre?

Well I DO agree with you but also I would like to point out that Gailey was the HC AND OC. Hackett is officially the designated OC and I believe these plays are drawn up by him. I think the OP was trying to say to take a look at a "few" of Gailey's playbook and not the playbook as a whole. Then again, Hackett should take a look at ALL NFL coach's playbook, cuz this stuff he's drawing up is for sure not working. I'm not one of the guys asking for Hackett's early retirement (which we know won't happen anyway) cuz I like the guy's energy, but he really DOES need a better approach. At LEAST, at the VERY least, change the damn running plays. (Voice in background) If you fix the run, the pass will come. Well, they sure aren't going to talk about Takeo Spikes, London Fletcher, Shawn Merriman, Travis Henry, the good ole days, Lawyer Milloy, etc. We're in the present and these are the topics at hand. Though Gailey can be forgotten at this point I agree...

The Problem with Bills' fans

Jerry Hughes
DefenseWinzChampionshipz replied to Braedenstearns's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This! I notice Hughes only when there's a neutral zone infraction or offsides on defense. I think he did ok against the Pats but since then doesn't look like much of an upgrade over Shep... We really need Bradham to start shining to help Kiko out a bit. Seems like we find a solid MLB and then all the other LB's are just nowhere to be found. That's the way it is with this team. They can't ALL shine together. -

Well judging by his username, he doesn't follow up on accuracy... -
Sam Bradford sucks; Bust!
DefenseWinzChampionshipz replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Oh and San Francisco didn't have a stud defense and an awesome running back when he was the starter 2 years ago when he was a "bust"? Listen, I don't want Alex Smith. This isn't a I want Alex Smith or his type of QB post. This is a, sometimes the system helps make a player be better post. We all believe Chan got the most out of Fitz don't we? Which means that that's the best Fitz will ever be. Alex Smith is showing how good he can be with Kansas City with THAT system. I'm fine with EJ but I don't have faith in the system. His talents are not being utilized the right way and neither is CJs'... Oh and don't tell me it's the offensive line cuz last year even with Levitre at guard, the line was shaky and Fitz had to release the ball in 2 seconds. Plus we had injuries to the line also. The blame usually starts from the top and I have a finger pointed at Marrone for being an offensive line coach and not realizing how bad we are at LG (hopefully Legursky can fix that cuz I think he got what it takes), and Hackett for running draw plays from the Shotgun. He was benched after "winning" games and playing real good if you can also remember that. -
Sam Bradford sucks; Bust!
DefenseWinzChampionshipz replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I remember people calling Alex Smith a bust also. Look what happened when Jim Harbaugh and his coaches helped him and now with Andy Reid and his staff they're 3-0. I hope he looks like a "bust" against us but my point is, sometimes it really isn't the player, but the system. -
The Problem with Bills' fans
DefenseWinzChampionshipz replied to 1B4IDie's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My daughter is about to be 11 in April which means that the Bills haven't made it to the playoffs her whole life plus 2 or 3 years before she was even conceived. I mean, if I began to write about all the stuff that's happened in that time period, man oh man. It's been too long to be patient. I hear where the OP is coming from but patience is not what Bills fans are expected to have, it's answers and playoffs. Thank you. No please sit down. -
TJ Graham to guard?
DefenseWinzChampionshipz replied to RuntheDamnBall's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think we should put the blue tackle bag that players hit during practice in at guard. The only problem will be the hurry up offense. If we throw a 30 yard bomb, we need 2 players to carry it and bring it up to the line of scrimmage. But since we don't get 1st downs that shouldn't be an issue. With our luck, the bag may get flagged for clipping. -
Lets turn our attention to Baltimore
DefenseWinzChampionshipz replied to dascottbills28's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not at all. I've been a fan far too long to give up "hope" cuz that's all I got week after week. I hope the O-Line holds up, I hope we don't have injuries. I hope CJ doesn't fumble etc. It's not giving up hope but more of a, when the Hell are we going to contend situation. The game was close yes but that was only cuz the refs didn't see EJ fumble and the Jets ran out of challenges. Their penalties and our defense (believe it or not) kept us in the game. The Ravens are for sure not the same team as last year but like I said, they haven't allowed an offensive TD since week 1. That's 2 whole games without allowing one. If the tables were turned and the Bills didn't allow an offensive TD in 2 games, that would be the talk of the town wouldn't it? I don't feel comfortable going against that defense. Not with the offensive approach we have. Can we beat them? Sure. Why not? But many adjustments need to be made for that to happen and I don't really know if it's Hackett, EJ or Marrone to blame. What I DO know is, is that all three of them are in this thing together and if one messes up, they all take the fall. A win is a win and a loss is a loss I get it. If we pulled out a win against the Jets, we surely wouldn't have deserved it (in my opinion of course) but I would still be happy about it. But if it makes any sense, I'd rather lose a game confident that the team I'm rooting for is an all around well trained team with a solid gameplan, than to win by luck and have question marks going into the next game. Right now (and for a long time) we don't have a "look" to us. For example, when you play the Jets, people KNOW they have a solid D-line week after week. Not good one week and bad on another. Consistently good. The Bills are always on the same page one quarter and off on the next. All we're known for is having a hurry up offense this year and the Eagles are even taking THAT spotlight away from us cuz they're "faster". I just want to at least have a solid D-line that people can talk about and say, oh we're playing the Bills, we're definitely not going to be able to run against them. We have the personnel for it. Mario is a beast, Kyle is a beast, Dareus was supposed to be one. No hope lost. Just not confident in the approach of the offense going up against that Ravens D. -

Lets turn our attention to Baltimore
DefenseWinzChampionshipz replied to dascottbills28's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here we go again with these we're going to beat the opponent threads. How bout we consistently win and then think of ways of, how we're going to beat the super bowl champs. They are yet to allow an offensive TD since week 1 and you're telling me we have a shot at winning? Why? Cuz we're playing in the Ralph? I'm not saying give up hope man but after yesterday what makes people think that EJ has a shot against Baltimore's defense? -
Which is why all these threads about how we're going to destroy the Jets need to stop. We can't beat them plain and simple. They're far more aggressive, blitz better, stop the run better and have a coach who knows his opponent's weaknesses and attacks it.
-
EJ looks at his 1st read too long. The TD pass to Chandler if you look at his eyes, was his 2nd read and did a little pump fake before he released the ball which left Chandler wide open. The pump fake might be EJ's secret weapon. I'm just a fan and I can see this. How come the coaches can't? Yeah I wish. Two reasons that won't happen. 1. Marrone is tied to Hackett and will never fire him. 2. Chan will never want to come back as an OC to the team he was the HC of. Don't think his pride will let him. The "defense" didn't suck. Certain players (cough! Rogers, cough! Searcy) did. Defense held their own and created turnovers and stopped a 4th and 1 in it's tracks. They were ok. Not great but good enough to win if we had a decent offense.

Wheels Falling Off
DefenseWinzChampionshipz replied to prissythecat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The wheels definitely fell off yesterday. It's gonna take A LOT of adjustment to get this "team" in sync. Justin Rogers had heard about the Bills circling the wagons but he never thought it would cause dizziness and nausea. Ok I'm done talking about the obvious. How the Hell do we get better from here is the question. I say the minute Legursky gets healthy and we pull Colin Brown out the lineup and see how that works out. Let's also maybe try some Power O runs and some I-formations instead of running from the Shotgun. That's pretty much the only thing I can think of as a quick change until Byrd, Gilmore and McKelvin come back. Ugh! Oh and calm EJ the !@#$ down... Has he always had this happy feet problem? A couple of the sacks could have easily been avoided with throwing the ball away or being alert and side stepping. That knee he took on the very last play was like, I surrender, please, nomore. Ugh! -
The Jets defense looked freakin' awesome, especially their run D. I would trade ours to look like that in a heartbeat. You know what's funny? I went into watching this game thinking Carpenter would be the biggest player to worry about. Man oh man, we've got MANY things to worry about besides Carpenter that's for sure. The way I saw it, this was the first time EJ got tested with successful blitzing and I give all the credit to Rex Ryan for seeing that weakness and attacking EJ non stop. EJ's happy feet got me concerned. The running plays for us DO need to change. Running a draw from the Shotgun all the time gotta go I'm sorry. Well, now we face the Ravens D who is yet to give up an offensive TD since week 1. We're F'd... I looked at the Kansas City game as one I would want to go to since it's a winnable game but, doesn't look winnable anymore. Even if we get Gilmore, Jairus and McKelvin back, this defense will not succeed until we stop the run like the Jets did (minus the play they gave up to Fred). Even 20 penalties couldn't save us. EJ's fumble that the refs couldn't see and rex couldn't challenge couldn't even save us... Ugh! May this team come together somehow against the Ravens. I'm not a believer in luck. I believe everything happens the way it should, so on that note, the only way to beat the Ravens is to outplay them. Hopefully our defense shows up and it sounds like Rice will be healthy to play. We gotta focus on stopping the run, covering our 1 on 1 matchups better, drawing up better run plays, and calming EJ down.

Honestly I have no idea. I will admit I DO see him making tackles and being around the ball in special teams. I just don't understand why he never either 1. Can prove he's good enough to get a couple snaps during the game 2. Talk to coach on the sideline like, PUT ME IN COACH (I forgot what movie that was from, if I had the link I'd post it)
-
Eh. If he does become good there then good for him. We're pretty good at WR and can't be selfish at this point. Speaking of being patient, we have to be patient with Graham. He may not have many yards but from what I've seen he can cause PI's. This Easley guy has me scratching my head though. He's a pro bowl preseason player. But come regular season, the guy is ghost. Idk. Congrats to Rogers though.

Hopefully it's a last second field goal while their crowd counts down the seconds. -
Yeah I read that but it took like 45 seconds to see that post after reading the initial Gilmore had a setback post. The stress I felt in those 45 seconds may have took a day out of my remaining time on this earth. Let's say I'm to die on January 13th, 2040, now because of those 45 seconds of stress I'm gonna die on January 12th, 2040... I will remember you on my death bed.
