  1. Well played, sir. Well played indeed.
  2. I read on ESPN that he's likely going back to Oakland. Not the worst situation, as he gets the vultures -- and RunDMC can't stay healthy.
  3. WARROW! The AP always has "obits" of famous people "in the can." I think it's time to ready Tebow's NFL obituary. 1). Have to have pretty thick skin to survive -- let alone make it -- in New York. I'm not sure his skin is THAT thick. 2). He has gone to (easily) the most poisonous team in the NFL. 3). While he's "Tebowing," he'll have to do it in front of all-class Rex dropping the F-bomb every second word. 4). The Jets are already divided -- this will split them in quarters, not halves. New York will destroy him. I easily see him out of the league in 2-3 years. It's a shame.
  4. Agreed. But maybe he can shed some light on NE's inner workings. That might change my opinion.
  5. I'm a bit shocked by the lack of love for Michael Bush. I was sure he'd be scooped up in the first day or two.
  6. This. The only part of the ruling that REALLY pisses me off is that this scumbag wasn't banned for life immediately. Otherwise, I think the punishment fit the crimes.
  7. I used to like the Ravens. Then came that fluke play in OT that ruined MY perfect O-fer season. And Flynn. That one was the most telling to me. This whole FA period has been SURREAL. Suddenly Buffalo is "where the cool guys are" and Miami's weather isn't that beautiful anymore. I'm loving it. Gotta wonder if that rogue editor ever heard of a guy named Rich Kotite.
  8. Same thing happened with Alex Smith and he came back to San Fran with his tail between his legs. That said, I hope we resign Bell, too -- without any modifications to the original offer.
  9. We did that. Bud Adams owned the Houston Oilers in '93 when we staged the biggest comeback in NFL history and sent them packing. Maybe the fact that the "Music City Miracle" is more recent makes it sting more. That "lateral" sucked -- and I was sick over it for days. But I'll never forget that high from January 3, 1993.
  10. That one player instantly boosts our entire defense. If Mario doesn't make the Pro Bowl, I could easily see Dareus and/or K. Williams making it. And that would likely be because of Mario's presence.
  11. This. The only unit that's semi-strong for the Fins is OL. I don't see them adding the "final piece" to the line when they have such glaring needs in almost every other position. But I like the rest of the Top 10 -- Agree we could move down and and snatch Perry.
  12. I'm guessing he used it as a down payment for the other $249,999 he owed the league.
  13. On my left hand, I'm flipping you the bird for being dissed by Peyton. On my right hand, I'm flipping you the bird for missing out on Mario Williams -- courtesy of US. I think we're even now.
  14. Well put. When T.O. was in Cincy with OchoStinko, who was the #1? Neither. They were both #3s.
  15. If he signs with the Fins, who will he throw the ball to? Davon Bess? The two games in which he played, Flynn enjoyed all of those GB receiving weapons. In the six-TD game, Nelson, Finley and Driver (who can still bring it in certain situations) caught five of those. I'm just not sold on Flynn. I wasn't sold on Kolb. (At least the Cards have Fitzgerald). Two final thoughts: My dream scenario (because I hate the Fins with a passion) would be for Flynn to sign with Seattle. I can easily see the Fins reaching for Tannehill at #8 because by that point they'll be insanely desperate. Heck, they might even have to trade up to get him. If the Fins land Flynn, I think we can bank on them taking Floyd at #8. Floyd isn't necessarily my favorite pick for us at #10, but I think he will be a talented receiver who I do not want to play against twice a year. SD
  16. Not trying to be facetious here -- Hey, I lived in South Florida till right before Mandich passed, so I know a bit about the fans. And the two 3rds they got in return might be a good trade someday for the Fins. But what about the timing? The first move in free agency? Any sane free agent QB would have to look at that and say... "Yeah. No..." imo.
  17. There's always Henne -- OOPS, strike that.
  18. Isn't that the guy who asked Dez Bryant if his Mom's a hooker?
  19. I have this "thing" about backups with limited playing experience on one team becoming "good" on another. Yeah, I still have Rob Johnson flashbacks. The Chiefs are living through the horror of Cassel. I'm not sure how the Dolphins didn't see they had no shot at Manning. He didn't even make a trip to visit them. I know Flynn has ties to the new Fins HC, but the fact that they waited so long while other FAs were flying off the board -- I don't know. Flynn's visiting Seattle tonight into tomorrow. Maybe Carroll & Co. pull a Buffalo on him and won't let him leave without a contract. Not sure about the rest of Seattle's brass, but Carroll is pretty persuasive. Definitely agree that they'll take at least one WR in the draft. I would like us to get a good No. 2 in FA, but it looks like we're done. The Fins could get the WR pick of the letter on Draft Day. SD
  20. We've had more than a decade of heartache, indigestion, puke fests, you name it. All of a sudden things are REALLY looking good and I'm so happy with the Bills right now. I never realized a single signing could achieve this feeling. BUT... Say you're a present-day Dolphins fan. What makes you not want to slit your wrists? This question is not for them -- they're likely punching walls, significant others, etc. This is for others who love watching a good train wreck every now and again. Where they're lacking A very so-so starting QB with no legitimate receiving weapons. No. 1 Wide Receiver. (Davone Besse is their current #1) A running game that'll never work without stretching the field (like Marshall did). I don't see Bush tearing through our new defense like he did last year). SPLAT. New coaches who don't seem to have a plan. What they have going for them They have a decent OL They have some goodies on D. ? A lot of mocks have them going for Reiff, but this team has so many deficiencies right now, that I can't see them adding a "final piece" to their strongest unit. Let's say that Peyton (who they're dreaming will come to them sans a visit) lands in Tennessee and Flynn is signed by the Seahawks, which at the moment is looking likely. I could easily see them reaching for Tannehill at #8 overall. What's the Bills' tie-in to all of this? It looks like beginning this year, Dolphins fans will be feeling the same pain Bills fans had for years to come. This, to me, is a total rebuilding project. Didn't they try that twice or three times in the last decade? Bottom line: It's great being a Bills fan today. WAY moreso than certain other teams (including one that just resigned some bum named "Sanchez.")
